((brian loftus)) >> i'm brian loftus. there was heated debate at agassi prep academy, about the future of its students. hundreds showed up to the governing boards meeting last night. with very little, if any support of a possible partnership with democracy prep. ((kirsten joyce)) >> apparently this potential merger has been in the works since march. but parents and teachers were made aware of the possible partnership last week ... representatives from democracy prep were also in attendance. we were able to clear up the rumors about democracy preps model. we're told that the school does school days which goes from 7:45 to 5:30 and there will be school on saturday's occasionally. however parent are still upset about the recent news. ((brian loftus)) the family of deceased lawyer susan winters is asking the courts to freeze the bank accounts of winters husband. psychologist dr. brent dennis gained control of nearly two l insurance policy.. after his wife died of an apparent suicide last year. ((kirsten joyce)) >> the case has been re-opened as a possible homicide.. in part because of shocking admissions the doctor made in a sworn deposition. george knapp of the i-team has exclusive details.

own life now have dr. dennis in the crosshairs of law enforcement. when his wife, attorney susan winters, died in january 2015, the death was ruled a suicide. since then, a private investigation funded by susan's parents has uncovered shocking details about dr. dennis. for a period of about a year, he made regular trips---3-4 times per week--to the orleans hotel to meet an alleged drug dealer. because the the doctor was questioned under oath about his use of cocaine and other drugs before going to work at his clinic. tony sgro/attorney for winters family: would you purchase in the morning or would you purchase in the afternoon? dr. brent dennis/husband of susan winters: it, it varied. sgro: so sometimes you did it before work, sometimes you did it after. dennis: correct attorney tony sgro says investigators observed dr. dennis snorting drugs in the

before he went to pick up his daughters. a complaint filed last year with the nevada board of psychological examiners was dismissed, but after details of the private investigation were made public in newspaper reports, the board requested and received an updated complaint, that in early october. it has yet to take action. tony sgro: you don't even have to look at our surveillance. you can just take the transcript of our deposition. he's the one that said he used it, drugs, often, that he has been using drugs for an indeterminate amount of time and that at theme days before that. how can someone operate under that mental state and still be fit to practice in our community? phone records obtained by the family show dr.

crosby hours before his wife died, and called crosby again just prior to dialing 9-11 to report his wife was dead. police who interviewed him that day thought he was under the influence of something. it's not a surprise to the winters family avis winters/susan's mother: when he came into the house from the garage, he had a white streak on his cheek. i almost said hey brent but i'm not a person who recognizes any of that stuff. dan winters/susan's father: he told me, driving in the car with avis and susan in the backseat, a take those drugs just so, because i have drug patients come in and i got to know what they do to them so i can help them. and i said brent, some of that stuff's pretty addicting. aren't you afraid of that. and he said it wouldn't affect me. i wouldn't have a problem. the issue of the doctor's drug use could be paramount to the police and grand jury because phone records show that two days before her death, susan winters

she also warned her husband that she would report him to the state board. sgro: susan knew you were using controlled substances, correct? dennis sure. sgro: susan had contacted jeff to tell him to stop selling you controlled substances, isn't that true? dennis: i'm not aware of that. sgro: she said she was going to turn you in for using drugs, fair? dennis: i don't have any recollection of that sgro: and you knew that if susan's threat manifested in her actually doing something, your license was going to be at risk, right? dennis: what i'm trying to tell you is, when she made threats, they were very general. i'm going to, i'm going to turn you in. i'm going to all the police. i'll tell your parents. i'll tell, you know, this happened quite frequently and they were, again very vague and very broad. sgro i can't imagine what else it would take to prompt a
