tennessee this morning to investigate a school bus crash that killed five children and sent more than 20 to the hospital... the bus driver, 24 year old johnthony walker, has been arrested and faces several criminal charges including vehicular homicide, the school bus was carrying carrying 35 kindergarten
onto its side. emergency crews worked for hours to remove some of the children from the mangled bus. (what we do know about this crash is that it was a single vehicle only the bus was involved. // this kind of crash is every first responders first nightmare. ((brian loftus)) >> one child who was on the bus saysthe driver wasn't paying attention. causing him to hit a mailbox forcing the bus to flip over and hi has been issued to remove the black box and review video cameras on the bus./// ((brian loftus)) a woman may have been riding on top of a car when it crashed into a wall yesteraday morning. the crash happened near desert inn and joe-w-brown drive. you can see how hard it impacted the wall from the video. the woman and the driver of the car were both taken to a nearby hospital. the woman suffered serious injuries. police say it was not clear why

((brian loftus)) protesters demonstrating against a proposed pipeline in north dakota are demanding the morton county sheriff resign. ((kirsten joyce)) >> that's after police used temperatures to try and disperse a group of demonstrators. but the sheriff is defending his actions. bo evans reports ... (nat sound) protesters say law enforcement has gone too far. using water hoses as a method of crowd control. they say the effects were harsh. (thomas joseph/protester) "many people had symptoms of hypothermia. our medical facility inside the camp treated over 200 people," the conflict began when protesters tried to remove burned vehicles from the
escalated. after fires broke out, police were using hoses to extinguish them, but they say protesters began throwing objects at them and they used the hoses to control the crowd. law enforcement says they will take the appropriate steps to keep officers safe. (sheriff kyle kirchmeier/ morton county, nd) "we're just not going to let people or protesters in large groups come in and threaten officers. that's not happening." (officer) "we can use whatever force there was more than just hoses used to disperse the crowd. (thomas joseph) "they were met by brutal force, with water cannons, tear gas, pepper spray and rubber bullets in unbelievable amounts. it was horrific, a horrific scene" highway 1806 and the backwater bridge remain closed.
