start on summerlin parkway between buffalo and rampart through july 2017. on monday at 9pm, the hov flyover bridge from northbound us 95 to westbound summerlin parkway will be closed through the end of january. during this time, the northbound buffalo to westbound summerlin parkway loop ramp will be closed, as well. traffic will be detoured to vegas drive and rampart boulevard. all of this is necessary, the new westbound hov lane. expect night time lane restrictions on the rampart on and off ramps, so crews can work on traffic signals and ada improvements. the city encourages you to watch message boards to stay in the loop. what's driving you crazy? remember, you can write me at. traffic 8 at las vegas now dot com. back to you./// ((kirsten joyce))

victims' families have encouraged tolerance and muslims residents undertook a campaign to educate neighbors about islam. michael stevens, 8 news now./// ((demetria obilor)) thanks, michael. three separate trials could come out of the group of defendants charged in that 2014 armed confrontation on the bundy ranch. cliven bundy and other defendants lost a bid for individual trials. the 17 defendants will likely be split up into three separate ones... with the first one starting february sixth. that's when bundy and hiso along with two other co-defendants are set to be in court. the second trial would start in may... with a third starting in august./// ((kirsten joyce)) las vegas fire and rescue is now accepting applications for its "citizens fire academy". the program is designed to teach interested people about how fire and emergency services in their community is handled. the academy starts in february and lasts through may.. when those taking part are honored during a graduation ceremony... some even go on to become professional firefighters. applications can be submitted

gatlinburg, tennessee residents will be allowed to go back to their homes for a few hours. last night, authorities raised the death toll to 11 people.... dozens of others injured. roxana saberi has the latest on one of the deadliest wildfires in u.s. history. residents returning to gatlinburg, tennessee today will see their city's downtown mostly intact but hundreds of homes have burned to the ground (mike werner, gatlinburg, mayor of tennessee: you have trees down, power lines down, and some of them are still live. you've got propane tanks leaking. in the nearby mountains... the lapinksies already made it home. you case ....their cabin was spared. everything around us is burned, and the cabin, it stopped. their neighbor's was not. everything's gone. firefighters are still working to contain the flames spanning more than 17-thousand acres even after two days of rain. firefighter - ) this hillside is trying to light up again. that's why we're here. we're trying to prevent that from happening. the wildfire forced
