donation to the coats for kids program. 3 we now know the preliminary cause of death for spencer, iowa wrestler austin roberts... who passed away suddenly on saturday.thanks for joining us tonight, i'm larry wentz, diana castillo is off. 3 the clay county coroner says roberts died of natural causes... and his body is being sent to the state medical examiner for more testing.we begin with siouxland sports director chris neyenhouse live in spencer, this evening...he spoke with austin's teammates this afternoon to learn how they're reacting to their friend's sudden death. 3 that's right larry... i spoke with austin's fellow seniors on the spencer high wrestling team.they say they're remembering a friend, and teammate... whose life ended

3 less than 48 hours after the sudden death of their teammate, spencer senior wrestler austin roberts, his fellow tigers came to the place they always do after school, their practice facility. and while they're still not sure why he collapsed during a meet and later died. they're here to talk about how he lived.hunter hurst spencer senior"i can't really describe the gap in my heart that i have. there's not a lot of guys that can make me laugh like he did. or push me the way he did. he'll always be my practice partner. he'll always be my workout buddy. and i know he'll be at every one of our meets cheering us on."the memorial here on the steps outside the high school is growing. each item tells a story about their friend. the chiseled 18-year-old who somehow found room in his diet for pepsi."the kid would drink pepsi regardless. there was never a time of the day when he didn't have a pepsi in his hand. whether it was before

always cracking a pepsi.and his pre-match meal?nate mclaury "we get on the bus and sit down and he pulls a big ol' bag of bugels out and just starts mowing down. we've got maybe 45 minutes maybe an hour before we get to hull western christian and he's still just chowing down. it never seemed to affect the state qualifiers performance though.dawson henrichs"we were at a tournament and he wasn't getting ready to wrestle at all and someone yells roberts you're up and he runs over there and he wrestles, pins the kid in a matter of seconds and i just hear the kid he wrestled go up to his coach and say look at him what did you want me to do!"what the team will do now is the same they've done since this tragedy struck. stick together. 3 so many amazing stories from these kids. we'll have more from them at 10. the wrestling team wanted to make a big point to thank everyone who has supported them and espcially those who have donated to the go fund me account to help pay for the funeral costs. that account is now up to 37- thousand dollars... we have a link on our website, siouxland news dot com. 3 3 3 news dot com.siouxland our website, siouxland news dot com. 3 3 drainage districts in three northwest iowa counties are asking a federal judge to throw out most a lawsuit against them.the des moines water works is suing those drainage districts in sac... calhoun... and buena vista counties... claiming they're allowing excess nitrate runoff from farm fields to pollute the raccoon river...where des moines gets its drinking water. attorneys representing the drainage district are asking federal judge mark bennett to dismiss 10 of the 12 claims in the suit... saying state law gives the districts immunity. the two other claims are federal...

immunity. the judge says he will rule on the motion by the middle of january. 3 3 another sioux city business is making plans to expand their facility.consumers supply distributing moved in to the old u- s postal service distribution facility on murphy drive back in 2012.now... the company is planning a 50- thousand square foot expansion to that facility in the bridgeport industrial park.that expansion is getting some help from the city... with the city council discussing a devlopment agreement at tonight's meeting. consumers supply hopes to move in to the new expansion as early as may. 3 3 a single- vehicle accident this morning sent one person to the hospital and backed up traffic for miles.that accident happened at about 11-30 a-m near the riverside boulevard exit on southbound i- 29. an s- u- v rolled over in the left- hand lane... trapping one person inside. crews were able to rescue that person... but traffic was backed up well into south dakota for nearly an hour. by 12- 30 this afternoon... traffic was once again flowing smoothly. 3 3 the *coats for kids* program

today.the faculty and staff at morningside college have donated 870 dollars and a number of coats to the program. each year they raise money for a charitable organization... and in return they get to wear jeans for the week leading up to christmas. 3 "you know it's the season for giving and you start thinking about those who are less fortunate, so we tried to think of a way that would get people involved in. and we really love to wear our jeans, so is kind of a win-win for us, we get to give to a good cause and we get to wear our jeans."tomorrow our kmeg 14 morning crew of jacob heller and meteorologist cat taylor will be using that generous donation from morningside to buy even more coats for kids in need. 3 3 a dark, dreary day in siouxland as we head into "official" winter. chad... any changes ahead for christmas. 3

by morning. look for mostly cloudy skies and temperatures in the 40s for tuesday, but a cold front will come through wednesday afternoon limiting highs into the upper 30s before the colder air settles in. once we hit wednesday night we will start to see several systems enter the area. these systems are still evolving and changing, so nothing is set in stone. temperatures will generally stay in the upper 30s to around 40 for most of the week. a system comes in on christmas day, where there is a chance of staying dry most of the day, but by evening look for lilght snow to start and then become more steady on saturday for the remainder of the day.>> 3 3 police in las vegas are questioning a woman after investigators say she deliberately smashed her car repeatedly into a crowded sidewalk on the las vegas strip. as chris martinez reports... at least one person was killed, and three dozens injured sunday night.

and back to normal after a night of chaos. police say surveillance video shows 24- year-old lakeisha holloway -- with a 3-year-old in her car -- plowing into crowds on the sidewalk. i sat down with the congressman this afternoon. conversation. 3 i've been looking for a full spectrum constitutional conservative that checks all the boxes. and some whom i think can restore the soul of america. we've lost some of our work ethic, we've lost our spirit, and we've lost our constitutional underpinnings. we've lost the deeper believe that we've had in the past in free enterprises, or national security, our foreign policy, and i have the privilege of knowing each of these presidential candidates personally to a degree, and i know ted cruz very well, and i'm convinced that he's the individual that can do this. he's smart enough, he's argued before the supreme court. and he would make the best 3 appointments, not only to the

december is drugged and drunk driving awareness month. this is why mercy's reality education and prevention or *reap* sponsors the distribution of special napkins and taxi service numbers to local bars. "the napkins will have an impaired driving message on there that says 'friends do whatever it takes to keep friends from driving impaired'" if you are hosting your own party, be sure to protect your friends and family too. ban on minors using tanning beds.the proposal would restrict the use of sunlamps to people over age 18.the agency is also proposing stricter safety regulations for adults, including a requirement that users sign a risk acknowledgment form.it says indoor tanning is a known contributor to skin cancers like melanoma.but still, one- point-six million children use indoor tanning beds each year, increasing their cancer risks. the indoor tanning association say the f-d-a is exaggerating the risks. 3
