it's been an unbelievable experience for me so far. a month and a half, two months ago, i didn't dream i'd be in this situation, and the giants were, you know, awesome to bring me over here. >> right out of a disney movie, isn't it? cody ross and, wow, barry bonds. they were chanting for both of them before. barry in fine spirits, bonds the vip, cody ross the mvp. delivered the first run of the game. this was the bottom of the fourth inning. but cody ross now the talk of baseball. giants win it 3-0. they take a 2-1 series lead. historically the giants are in great shape. in 15 of the past 16 years, the team that wins game 3 has gone on to win the series. our giants coverage continues in about ten minutes. fear the beard. how about fear the guy who trims the beard and cuts the hair? behind the scenes with the giants' personal hairdresser. in the playoffs we do all sorts of stories. we'll see you soon.

>> thanks a lot, raj. well, new tonight at 11:00, survivors of san bruno after that deadly fire ripped their homes and their lives apart. they're trying to rebuild their lives, but there is one thing they're demanding before they take the first step. george is live with their emotional story tonight. george? >> reporter: we're standing not far from where their home used to be, from the pipeline explosion in early september. the palegrinis are trying to move forward with their lives thechlt join four other families in a lawsuit against p grg and and they say they want pg&e to pay. >> it's a roof over our herds, but it's not our house. we have furniture we sit on, but it's not our furniture. >> the place they called home for more than 35 years was lost

when the pipeline exploded. >> we lost nearly everything, but we were fortunate to get out with our lives. >> the one thing they want is for pg&e to remove the pipeline before they ever rebuild their cre crestmoor neighborhood home. >> i never felt a fear like that in my entire life and i hope to never again. that's one of the reasons why removing that line is so vital and important to me and my neighbors. >> palegrinis' attorney filed a 40-page report. it blasts pg&e and asks the company to compensate the families for physical and emotional injuries. >> how could you conceivably ask people to invest their lives and money to rebuilding when you haven't told them why it went wrong in the first place and you can't guarantee it won't happen again? >> for the palegrinis, it isn't about the money.

good evening again. one week ago it was impossible. now it seems almost likely. the giants in the driver's seat with no signs of torture. we could see the giants and rangers in the world series. fox would cringe at those ratings. the yanks on the verge of elimination. our old friend, a hero for the texas rangers, remember benji? that gave the rangers a 5-3 lead. the rangers take a commanding 3-1 series lead. back to the giants now. all this talk about cane and ross, but keep in mind bochi, the lines shuffler before today's game. lead singer for "death cab for cutie." you guys have never heard of "death cab for cutie." i found barry bonds in the

bowels of the stadium to go to a private restroom. sparked a rally in the bottom of the fourth inning, 1-0, giants on top. very next batter, the slumping aubrey huff. not anymore. snaps out of it. rbi single. pat burley scores with 2-0 giants. then we bring in bobby cane. he finally gets his signature win. gets out of a jam here. cane goes seven shutout winnings allowing just two hits. let's bring in nbc's laura banke from the ballpark. the giants have pretty much been saying the same thing now, we are down to a best of five series. that makes the game even more pivotal and the giants went at it with a strong approach. cody ross and company doing just enough to get the job done.
