[ cheers and applause ] it is such a great day. before we start, i just want to say i have so much to be thankful for. most of all, joe biden, chris christie, and rob ford. you guys really make it all possible. [ cheers and applause ] thank you so much. i thought that this was nice. the miami heat are in ohio this week. lebron james had his chef cook thanksgiving dinner for the entire team at his home in cleveland. of course, it got weird when he passed the yams, and they said, oh, so you do know how to pass. [ laughter ] oh! oh! oh! give me the saxophone! ♪
>> jimmy: that's right, people all over the country spent the day preparing food with their families. and this is very interesting. a new survey found that 80% of men claim they help cook thanksgiving dinner. which makes sense when you hear that they consider saying, that smells good, to be helping. [ laughter ] that smells good. get this, i read that despite popular belief, eating turkey does not make you sleepy. however, the conversations you have with the people you're eating it with usually do. [ laughter ] did i tell you how i found a dime once in 1940? numerous times. i also want to say, happy hanukkah, everybody. [ cheers and applause ] thanksgiving and hanukkah actually fell on the same day this year. it was very stressful for jewish people who can't decide whether to feel guilty for eating too much or just guilty in general. [ laughter ] [ applause ]
thanksgiving and hanukkah fall on the same day for a combined holiday that some are referring to as thanksgivukkah. [ laughter ] like who thought up the word staycation, was like, come on. i mean -- just chillax. chillax. you guys know what vines are? you guys know what a vine is? best buy is encouraging customers to post six-second vines of their black friday experience. that's called a fun promotion. police are calling it evidence. [ laughter ] [ applause ] in addition to black friday this weekend, it is also small business saturday, where people are encouraged to go to local businesses. [ cheers and applause ] go to local businesses, and ask them directions on how to get to target. [ laughter and applause ] very interesting. this week, the new york mets, we love the mets, they released a
special holiday video. this is real. where their players sing sleigh ride. check it out. ♪ sleigh bells dingaling ring ting tinglling too ♪ ♪ come on it's lovely weather for a sleigh ride together with you ♪ ♪ outside the snow is falling and friends are calling you who ♪ >> jimmy: this marks the first time people told the mets maybe you guys should stick with baseball. [ laughter ] [ applause ] i just saw that new jersey is considering a new law that would make it illegal for drivers to eat behind the wheel. or as governor christie calls it, shotgun! [ laughter ] [ applause ] not driving. i'm not driving. here's a local story. new york city is close to passing a bill that would reduce the speed limit to 20 miles per hour on most city streets. now we can raise more important things, raising the speed limit on sidewalks.
[ laughter ] hurry up! move, move, move. get out of way! get out, go stand in the street! whatever. this is kind of embarrassing. yahoo! is apparently having trouble getting it's employees to switch to its own e-mail service, yahoo! mail. [ laughter ] when asked how they can sign up, company ceo was like, i don't know, google it. [ laughter ] [ cheers and applause ] i don't know. you have to google it. have you heard about this? a company in illinois is coming out with the cinnabon flavor vodka. if you're in the mood for cinnabon and drinking, i'm sorry about the divorce. [ laughter ] [ applause ] so sorry. hey, guys, it's week 13 of the nfl season and this sunday night we've got the washington redskins taking on the new york giants. [ cheers and applause ] should be a good one. now every year at the end of the
season they give out awards like most valuable player. but they also give out awards during the season. sort of like the ones in high school year books. like most likely to succeed. class clown. stuff like that. so with that in mind, it's time for "late night superlatives." our first player is a kai forbath. he is a kicker for the washington redskins. he was voted most likely to be the love child of bing crosby and the elf on the shelf. [ laughter ] next up is david deal, he is the two time superbowl champion offensive tackle for the new york giants. he was voted most likely to literally mean it when he says, i can eat a horse. [ laughter ] i'm serious. give me a horse, i'm serious. next up for the giants is markus kuhn. he was voted most likely to say got get him honey boo boo child. [ laughter ] next up, from the giants,
jim cordle, he was voted most likely to be seen walking away slowly from a burning house. [ laughter ] also from the giants, we have brandon myers. he was voted most likely to have invented a new form of frowning and smiling called friling. [ laughter ] >> there's a little underwater meditation. >> jimmy: did you do a little yoga there? >> doing yoga. >> jimmy: come on, that's wild. >> it was cool. >> jimmy: wouldn't you go there and just learn how to -- like conserve the ocean? >> yeah. they protect the habitat. belize has the biggest barrier reef in the hemisphere, second to the australian great barrier reef. it's so beautiful. it was like the 101. you guys aren't from l.a. but it was like a freeway. it was like, sharks and barracudas and eels and sea turtles and sting rays. at one point, we were swimming around and angela like bumped into a shark. and like, "hey man." he looked at her like, "get away from me." [ laughter ] >> jimmy: a shark? >> yeah. we were swimming with sharks. like for real. >> jimmy: that's ridiculous. that'd scare me. can you explain -- i sawou at the youtube awards. i watched the youtube awards online. it was a very fun show. it was weird. >> so weird. >> jimmy: it was an odd show. >> did anybody see the youtube awards? [ cheers and applause ]
yeah, see. >> jimmy: spike jonze directed. >> spike jonze directed. >> jimmy: it was really, really creative. really funny. >> he is really great. >> jimmy: and he wanted to surprise the hosts. it was reggie watts and -- >> jason schwartzman. >> jimmy: jason schwartzman. >> he asked me. he was like, "do you want to just like --" spike asked me to come and do something. he was like, "why don't you just give them babies and then leave?" >> jimmy: so you walked out with two babies. you gave them each a baby and then you left. >> and then i left. which i looked at jason's face and he was so stressed. they didn't know what was happening. i handed him a naked baby in the middle of the show and he looked at me like, "are you kidding me? what kind of friend are you?" i actually called him to apologize and i have not heard back from him. i feel really bad. >> jimmy: really? >> yes. i'm taking this opportunity to say, jason schwartzman, you are my friend. i'm so sorry. blame spike. it is not my fault. i'm so sorry i gave you a naked baby. >> jimmy: you should apologize to the baby, too. maybe. >> yes. i want to apologize to everybody involved actually. the babies, parents. the people who had to watch it.

feel like. i grew up and i had all these christmas records and just fun random -- >> jimmy: you listen to vinyl? >> mm-hm. some i've literally had my entire life. >> jimmy: what are your holiday albums you remember? >> there are some i couldn't tell you who actually sings. but like bing crosby and things like that that are just -- it puts you in the holidays. >> jimmy: yeah. phil spector's christmas gift was the one that we always -- phil spector was a great producer, yeah. [ laughter ] let's not talk about that. let's not go there. [ laughter ] that was the record we always used to -- and i love that. it's still my favorite. every time i hear that, i think of christmas and holidays. do you have a real tree? >> no. >> jimmy: me neither. fake tree. >> fake tree club. >> rashida: menorah. >> jimmy: menorah, yeah. [ laughter ] menorah. what do you usually do on thanksgiving? >> get together. well, usually, okay. we have no traditions, right? >> jimmy: you don't? >> no. because i'm busy and my
husband's hockey schedule is crazy. >> jimmy: oh, yeah, hockey season. >> yeah. if we have a day, we get together with all of the other -- we don't have family clubs near us. and we can't go anywhere. can't do anything. so it is like, "oh, you're alone? come be alone with us." >> jimmy: yeah, like a friendsgiving is what they're calling it. did you invite this gentleman here? your pal mick jagger? >> i did. but he didn't come. >> jimmy: no, he couldn't make it this year. how cool is this? where is this? >> that was in canada. they were playing in toronto. and i was at the end of my tour earlier this year. so they, mick called me up. no big deal. [ laughter ] and said -- and he asked me to sing with them. i knew he was going to call because it was kind of their people called my people. >> jimmy: so what do you do? did you freak out waiting for the phone call? >> i did. i literally couldn't go anywhere. i couldn't do anything. i couldn't like get up to go to the bathroom. >> jimmy: it's like time warner
cable. mick jagger is going to call anywhere between 12 and 9. [ laughter ] >> right. >> jimmy: but don't do anything. >> exactly. >> jimmy: then he called you up and what did he say? >> we decided what we were going to sing and what we were gonna wear. >> jimmy: [ speaking in accent ] [ cheers and applause ] something like that? >> it's nice that you could fill in for him if he ever gets sick or something. >> jimmy: i never get a phone call from mick jagger. >> people call and say, "mick is not going to call you today." [ laughter ] very interesting. it's very flattering. you should love that. let's talk "sound of music live." [ cheers and applause ] oh, people are excited about this. >> i'm excited. >> jimmy: i'm excited about this. live is always the best. you perform live but have you ever acted live or -- >> not acted. we've host awards shows and stuff like that. so that's three hours worth of live minutes. but i'm not out there the whole time and there's a lot of other people that do stuff. >> jimmy: yeah, but, that's kind of all you. i'm just saying. >> not all me.
