>> caught on dashcam, only on nbc bay area news. why the man says he did it. >> reporter: robert says this surveillance video from neighbor's home shows a thief stealing his truck in south san jose tuesday. called police, met with community service officer who came to the scene. as contractor, truck is critical to livelihood. >> somebody takes it from you, like hurting one of your children. it's that important to me. i'm going to do whatever it takes. >> after filing a police report, robert realized he could use the air tag tracking device to find out where the truck was. jumped in his daughter's car drove to morgan hill to find it, telling law enforcement what he's doing. dashcam shows his own truck passing him. made a u-turn and followed the

police arrested a man after eight fires were set along highway 4 overnight. learning more about the victims of the deadly plane crash in the marin headlands. mike briar and jennifer fox from sacramento. experimental aircraft crashed just before 3:00. now ntsb and faa are documenting the wreckage and urging anyone who saw something helpful to contact them. took off from sacramento, ran into trouble near the golden gate bridge under extremely foggy conditions. >> friday, about noon, we received notice from the u.s. coast guard and faa that aircraft transresponder beacon was activated. it was extremely foggy. >> investigation continues tomorrow.
