live, from the kgo tv broadcast center, this is "abc7 news." stars of the field, screen and stage, swarmed the bay area. we'll take you to several of the biggest bashes on the eve of super bowl 50. good evening on this super bowl eve. i'm eric thomas. police are moving barriers to clear large crowds out of the fire lanes around super bowl city. thousands are standing outside the gates. we even saw one man sitting on top of a traffic light. the free alicia keys concert was

so popular, authorities had to close the gates around 4:30 this afternoon and turned thousands away. police say the venue was at capacity and the closure is for safety reasons. but some fans doubt that. >> it's less safe out here, because my office building is the embarcadero center, and there's a lot more space on the inside than the outside. >> some of the people behind me are angry, but a lot of disappointment. i think they should have left more people in. >> the nfl encouraged fans to watch the live stream of the concert at nfl.com. we had crews all over the bay area for super bowl events. we begin a roundup. >> reporter: the hall has finally called legendary 49ers owner eddie debartilow junior.

be back in the bay area. >> it's great. >> reporter: alyssa harrington, "abc7 news." >> reporter: the parties leading up to the big game are almost as impressive as the super bowl. yes, those are live sea lions in the front yard of this private south bay home. this is an annual event which last year raised more than a million dollars for charities. celebrities tell me they plan to beat that record tonight with the silent action taking place. there is tons of football and hollywood memorabilia to bid on. there's going to be a performance by michael frontee. we'll have much more from the red carpet at 11:00. santa clara hosted one oh of the biggest parties for fans today. the super community celebration. cornell bernard has more.

skating at ceasar chavez plaza. here's more on the weather. >> it's going to be really tough to ask for better weather than what we'll get tomorrow in the afternoon. look at these temperatures. kickoff under sunny skies, around 73 degrees, 12 degrees above normal. so you'll want the sunglasses, the sun screen, because it will be warm out there. by 7:00, it cools off to 59 degrees. if you stay in san francisco, look at this. blue skies, warm by 2:00. a temperature of 68 degrees and even warmer air is set to rise here monday and especially tuesday. we could see records fall. we'll take a look at those numbers and show you the next chance of rain in the next few minutes. tonight, the republican candidates squared off just three days from the new hampshire primaries. it's a high stakes contest that led to a lot of disputes on stage. marci gonzalez is in new hampshire with more. >> reporter: the final fight in

current. that's through tomorrow afternoon. waves could get as high as ten feet. so large breakers, strong rip currents. so if you're headed to the beach, the ocean will be rather active. out there right now, mild in san francisco. 58, that's just one degree off our average dagtime high. 55 in san carlos. 51 in oakland. outside live, san francisco, the beautiful east bay in the back ground. quiet as could be under clear skies. so the forecast, the call for spring-like warmth to round out the weekend. warmer air moves in monday and tuesday. that's when records are possible in many places. the next chance of rain comes friday. live doppler 7 hd, high pressure, this is just anchored off the coast, sitting there, it's not moving anywhere any time soon. that acts like a roadblock.

so looking at your planner tomorrow, pretty much the sky identical to how it was today. lots of sunshine. most locations warming into the mid 60s to 70s. so a mild end to the weekend. from there we fast forward into monday. even warmer air moves in and we could have record setting warmth. san jose, 77 degrees the fore the record is 75. so that's likely going to be broken. san francisco, oakland have records in the mid 70s. on tuesday, the records in the low to mid 70s, so some locations will top that. wednesday, that's when the cooling starts to begin. thursday, friday, chance of rain. overnight tonight, on the mild side in most spots in the 40s. then starting in the south bay on sunday, santa clara, the super bowl, 73 degrees, very mild. 73 in san jose.

and no better time for him to get the nod than for super bowl 50. this is his fourth time as a finalist, and it took 46 voters 50 minutes and 33 seconds of debate, the longest of any finalist, before they made the call. no better honor in sports. if you asked anyone whoever played for him and i fall into that category. he made sure his teams had everything they needed to succeed. >> it's unbelievable. it's almost like it was a script that was written. having super bowl 50 here in the bay area after all the years that we battled and played here is something that i don't know if anybody could ever write a better script. >> kenny stabler finally got elected. but he suffered look like from cte before his death. one of the top corner backs in
