now from abc7, live breaking news. that breaking news is from the east bay where the search for one of the two inmates who escaped from a south bay jail nearly a week ago is over tonight. good evening, and thank you for joining us. >> i'm ama daetz. >> we first told you about the news in the last hour. >> news reporter katie marzullo is live at the santa clara jail with the breaking details. >> reporter: ama, dan, escaped inmate laron campbell is back in custody tonight. a source tells me he was taken into custody, captured in antioch without incident tonight. the county sheriff's office confirming he will be brought back here to the santa clara

county main jail. today, search everts focused on rogelio chavez. there was a large scale operation in east san jose. >> i think about two days ago. >> reporter: this trailer after a s.w.a.t. operation is parked in front of tien vu's home on inmanway. >> i saw two gentlemen. th say it belong to their friends, but i was, that's why we didn't ask further. we were concerned. >> reporter: he was worried they were parked illegally. he never imagined the s.w.a.t. team would be looking for's caped inmate. >> targeting various high value targets associates of chavez. so the search continues. >> reporter: it turned out there was no one inside the trailer but the thought of an escape the inmate in their midst put neighbors like elizabeth cerna on edge. >> it is scary. >> reporter: her aunt was baby-sitting her 1-year-old

daughter nearby. >> they said there's a man from the jail break possibly could be him. i freaked out and left work right away. >> reporter: most of the search operations have been related to rogelio chavez. authorities just missed him at the days inn in gilroy sunday night but arrested emily vaca they say was helping chavez. we have learned that the sheriff's office has planned a news conference for late tomorrow morning at which time they'll release more details what led to the capture of laron campbell. abc7 news. thank you. developing news in san francisco. there was a tragedy under the big top tonight. a crew member with cirque du solei's luzzia show was killed during rehearsal tonight. >> abc7 joins us live from at&t park with the developing story. >> reporter: i learned in the last 15 minutes or so from cirque du solei it was a

technician who was hit by a lift before the show started. they would not confirm his name pending notification from next of kin. ticket holders got this flyer upon arrival. >> you get an e-mail for $40, automatically get refunded if you want to come back. >> reporter: the staff tried to quickly spread the word to ticket holders that tonight's 8:00 p.m. show was cancelled. little was shared, just that a technician was hurt at around 6:30. sources tell us the man may have been hit in the ahead with an object which caused severe trauma. >> i'm in shock. i'm in shock like sitting here. i don't want to drive yet because i can't even believe this happened, that somebody in this show was injured. >> reporter: the official spectacle arrived in san francisco earlier this month and runs through the end of january. some crew members told me canceling a show is rare. ticket holders were given the option to get a full refund or reschedule for a later date.

fans were disappointed but understanding. >> we always like to come to these smoepz they're entertaining and you know, they're good shows. that's too bad. i hope everything turns out. >> reporter: cal osha has been notified. lisa amin ga lesion, abc7 news. new at 11:00, there was a scare tonight at san francisco's metreon evacuated as police searched for a gunman. officers responded to a call of man who possibly had a gun. they found a gun at the scene. a man was acting erratically inside the theater and pulled out a gun. police in the north bay are investigate agassault involving members of a high school football team. it the incident involving multiple players happened at napa high school where we find cornell bernard live tonight. >> reporter: police and school officials saying little about this assault case involving members of the football team. at least one parent here at the

school wants to know why she wasn't notified after it happened. >> are our children here? this parent is learneded about an assault which happened at napa high school involving members of the football team serious enough for napa police to investigate. >> members of the napa high football team were assaulting other teammates. grabbing them and basically holding them down. >> reporter: police won't say if there was a hazing incident or comment on any injuries suffered. it was first reported on november 19th. >> they will notify you for everything else. but not for this? >> reporter: mar sa sandoval believes one player suffered the worst of the misconduct. >> the school has not notified the us or haven't told us of the people who sawed this young man have been arrested. are they still in class with my daughter? >> we want to em fa stiz that health and safety of our kids are our prime concern. >> reporter: the napa valley unified school district now

doing its own investigation. >> they're talking with football players, coaches, staff, they want to know exactly what happened. >> reporter: so far no disciplinary action against players has been taken and no arrests have been made. cornell bernard, abc7 news. it's official. the warriors are headed to san francisco. today the state court of appeals upheld the city's environmental impact report. the warriors are ready to begin construction next year and open in 2019. >> this is a nearly universally beloved idea. it's going to be reality. and it's time to get moving with it. >> the group opposing the project promises to keep fighting in a statement saying we believe that the proposed warriors arena would result in blocked access to ucsf hospitals, dangerous air pollution and track gridlock throughout the community. and while the warriors are leaving in the next two weeks, oakland will vote on a plan that could keep the raiders in town. abc7 news was at city hall today

state, donald trump said we're going to see what happens. in a tweet tonight, donald trump announced a deal to keep 1,000 manufacturing jobs in the u.s. nine months ago, air conditioning manufacturer carrier announced a plan to some day send all of its jobs to mexico. the company employees more than 2,000 people in indiana. local officials said carrier will receive incentives to keep half those jobs home. indiana is vice president elected mike pence's home state. he and donald trump will be in indiana to celebrate that announcement. tomorrow morning nancy pelosi could be replaced as the house democratic leader. though it's not likely. democrats will vote between her and tim ryan. he sees himself as a working class congressman who bring back blue collar votes. it will be an uphill battle for ryan as only six of the 194 house democrats have publicly supported him. toxic mushrooms are sprouting up in the east bay hills. today the regional park district issued a new warning telling park visitors not to collect or

eat these mushrooms. they're very dangerous. the bay area is home to two of the world's most toxic mushrooms, is the death cap and western destroying angel that grow near oak trees. eating them can result in liver and region failure if treatment is not received immediately. the list of those who got sick after eating thanksgiving meal in apartment i okay has grown from eight to 17. three victims died. many people who eta the food live at one of three senior group homes. they showed symptoms within 24 hours of eating the meal on thursday. some who had the food say it seemed fine. >> nobody got ill. none of us. we eta. we brought plates of food home. it was wonderful. it tasted good. >> many of the dishes were prepared at the haul while others made at various homes. health officials say it appears to be a food bourn illness but the investigation is ongoing. tonight police released the mug shots of two people

suspected of using dogs to hunt and kill animals in golden gate park. prosecutors say kelvin johnson and jasmine marshall trained two dogs to kill rabbits and an egret. police say they posted pictures of the dead animals on social media. johnson pleaded not guilty in court today. marshall will be in court on a later date. new details on the sinking millennium tower. the board of supervisors subpoenaed an engineer involved in the construction. jack melee refused to testify at a previous hearing. in 2006, melee found the building's design to be sound and recommended get a permit. now take a look at some images taken from space. the european space agency says red dots that you see represent a tilt of the building. there's where you can see the red dauts. the tower has sunk 1.8 inches in the past year and 16 inches since 2009. >> that's interesting to see. we've got more interesting pictures from high above that we
