later today and tonight. the let's get back to the oscar nominations... now to a developing story in indonesia. explosions and gunfire rocking the country's capital... after suicide bombers target a starbucks. the streets of jakarta flooded with police as they try to find the suspects and help the wounded. here's abc's stephanie ramos. blown out windows?smoke billowing into the sky?debris scattered across the busy downtown streets of indonesia's capital. at least 3 suicide bombers ?detonated their packs?exploding themselves in a starbucks cafe in jakarta .... while gunmen attacked a police station nearby. at least one police officer is dead but the death toll could be much higher. after the first explosion .... chaos erupted in the popular shopping district of the capital that's home to luxury hotels and foreign embassies.

between the attackers and anti - terror police squads for more than an hour. while explosions in other parts of the city could be heard?. police intensely searching for other gunmen. so far no one has claimed responsibility for the attack but tensions have been high in indonesia as newer isis affiliated groups overshadow older terrorist groups in the region. everyone has been on high alert since christmas after a number of arrests were made across indonesia. counterterrorism advisers say about 500 indonesians have joined isis in syria....with other hadi groups pledging support to isis caliphate abu al baghdadi. the u.s. embassy now issuing an alert to all u.s. citizens in jakarta ... telling them to stay put ---avoid the area until authorities figure out exactly what is going on and who is responsible. tag: starbucks put out a statement on the attacks. saying?our hearts are with the people of indonesia? all starbucks in jakarta will remain closed out of an abundance of stephanie ramos abc news washington in honduras... three people were killed when of students from new york city crashed.

two students from columbia university and a health care professional died in the accident. 14 others were injured. u-s border patrol officers in texas made a strange discovery. they found nearly half a million dollars worth of marijuana hidden in a batch of carrots. authorities admit these drug smugglers were certainly creative in their attempt to smuggle narcotics into the u-s from mexico. the border patrol officers and their canine team uncovered nearly 3-thousand carrot-shaped marijuana packages hidden among real carrots. with less than a month until the crucial iowa caucuses, the g-o-p seems to have more contentious fighting between party leaders than their democratic rivals. the heated battle between donald trump and ted cruz has broken into open attacks as poll numbers tighten.
5:35 am
never mind their fight with president obama, hillary clinton and other democrats-- republicans have a brawl of their own that's brewing hotter and hotter. presidential candidate "ted cruz is a problem. he's got a real problem." donald trump tore into ted cruz again today raising more doubts over his citizenship. on twitter, trump wrote: sadly, there is no way that ted cruz can continue running in the republican primary unless he can erase doubt on eligibility. dems will sue! cruz struck back - going beyond defending his u-s citizenship, to questioning trump's character. in a radio interview, cruz said it's clear his campaign's surge has rattled trump. he told voters to consider the billionaire

suggesting trump has little in common with voters in iowa and new hampshire. presidential candidate "well, look, i think he may shift in his new rallies to play 'new york, new york' because donald comes from new york and he embodies new york values." for his part, trump blasts born in the usa at his rallies. a not-so- subtle reminder cruz was born in canada. his mother was a u-s citizen. a strategy that could explain how trump has narrowed the gap with cruz in the latest iowa poll from the des moines register and bloomberg from 10 points a month ago to 3 points now. with trump on top of the republican field in all national polls, the gop establishment grows more concerned. in the party's response to president obama's state of the union address, south carolina governor nikki haley challenged the rhetoric of her own party's frontrunner. south carolina "during anxious times, it can be tempting to follow the siren call of the angriest voices. we must resist that temptation." haley told reporters today it was trump and others she was calling out. south carolina "donald trump was not the only person i talked about. i know people want to say that's what it was. so, what i would say to mr. trump is don't take it personally." the governor's comments touched off a firestorm from some conservatives. ann coulter assailed her indian-american heritage, tweeting: trump should deport nikki haley trump said haley - a rising republican star - was off his short-list for vice president. presidential candidate fox/ fox and friends "i wouldn't say she's off to a good start // "i feel very strongly

"a number of my clients have said there's a very calming effect. you focus, you're doing something constructive, even creative, because the choice of colors is all up to the person." clinical social worker sandie fox says that the act of coloring activates both sides of the brain ... which can help some people deal with traumatic
5:44 am
"it helps to deintensify the traumatic material, and even the anxiety if the person is just kind of anxious and depressed but doesn't have major trauma." so whether you're trying to cut some stress out of your life ... or just enjoy being creative ... coloring can be good for you. what i found interesting about these adult coloring books is that it takes you back to a time before technology took over ... so people are able to put their smart phones or tablets aside for a while and just unplug. i think that's one of the biggest benefits. a new state contract will help put laptops thousands of nevada middle schoolers. oregon-based c-t-l will help implement the "nevada ready 21" program. schools can apply for
