according to police the former mma fighter dropped the victim off in tempe where she called police. a judge ordered him to remain in custody without bond initially. he will have initial pretrial conference december 28 and comprehensive pretrial conference on january 26. a family is thankful to be alive after a fire tore through their phoenix home. firefighters sent this brand new video of a 81 81st and osborn. six kids and three dogs were able to get out after an 18 year old heard smoke detecters. because of the teen fire crews were able to save 70% of the home. a man who escaped from cops in handcuffs and then lived on the run for two walks is talking with us about how he did it. he was taken to the hospital after a chase that ended with a crash. he says he didn't want to go back to prison so he slipped out of the handcuffs when

and also expected to continue to run trump's businesses. >> they want to drain the swamp, relationship with the family and business would be open and above boards or the walls between the two would be very high if president trump wants to keep faith with promises he made and criticism he leveled during the campaign. >> the clock is ticking. president elect trump has 65 days to fill thousands of administration positions before taking the oath of office. if you are thanksgiving, you won't be alone. aaa says 1 million more americans will be flying and driving compared to last. aaa just released the travel forecast. >> reporter: this year aaa says 48.7 million americans will be traveling this thanksgiving season. a lot of them are going to be putting their suit cases in their car and hitting the roads. i know i am heading to my hometown. some people wonder why the

traveling this year? aaa says it has to do with improvements in the economy. 89% of travelers will be hitting the road. air travel is also on the rise with nearly 4 million people flying to grandma's house. many will head west. that means if you are traveling to west coast cities you will be sharing the roads and skies with plenty of people. keep that in mind. according to aaa here is the most popular las vegas, an easy drive from phoenix. number two, san francisco, a pretty easy flight. number 3 san diego. number 7 is anaheim california. the prices are the second cheapest in nearly a decade. obviously you want to be sure you have a full tank of gas, bring snacks for the kids and pack your patience because you are going to be dealing with a lot of travelers, whether in

there are so many cool shots of the super moon, really, really cool. let's look outside, we have clear skies, lots of sunshine. it's going to be a warm one. we could break a record. doppler radar is showing clear skies throughout the valley from gilbert to avondale, cave creek to casa grand. that's the story statewide. as we look at temperatures around the valley, there, 80 scottsdale and fountain hill. 69 flagstaff, 66shiloh, 82 tucson. the rest of your day looks like this. downtown phoenix, we will take it to about 89 degrees. by 6:00 p.m. we'll dial it down to 80 and 74 ahead for 8:00 p.m. in the next forecast i will

could break and the major cooling like knock your socks off cooling that we will see this week, like a 20-degree drop. >> the one that makes everybody sick. >> hopefully not. >> thanks. construction workers could learn a lot from workers in japan. we showed you this one week ago. a five lane road in japan collapsed into a massive sink hole. this is how big it is, 90 feet wide, 100 feet long, 50 feet deep. it eventually from broken pipes. this is the same intersection today. you can hear clapping. they filled it with soil and managed to get the whole road way built. there is not a single sign that the road collapsed into a giant pit seven days ago. they're trying to figure out what triggered the collapse but they believe it is tied to subway construction. usually we hear about wildfiring in the west. right now it's the southern u.s. that's in flames, some even forced to wear masks

we have seen a lot of views of the super moon over the past days all over the internet and the sky. this one is no doubt. it's a time lapse of the moon rising over the bay bridge in oakland. the next one will be december 14. it's a bummer because it will spoil the view of the meteor shower. more than 70 wildfires are burning across eight southern states fueled by dry weather and drought conditions. the flames have already charred more than 1000 acres and forced evacuations. some people are forced to wear masks because the smoke is so

four points and new york stock change down and nasdaq is up about 54. dow threatening to snap a six session win streak. things have been looking good since the election and the last couple days. lyft is replacing the signature mustache with a dash board device called the amp. the mustache shaped light was on dash boards. this will help riders find the right crowded streets. riders will be told to look for a lyft with a specific color on the dash. motor trend named its car of the year, the chevy bolt. general motor's new all electric compact car is different from the current bolt which has a gas engine in addition to an electric motor. it has 282 miles of driving range on a full charge. prices start at $37,500 or

of alaska. that's going to be our storm maker. i shouldn't call it a storm because it will not bring rain but it will drastically change temperatures. we are under high pressure. that pushes east as we get going into the next couple days. sunny and warm today. wednesday we have more cloud cover ahead of the system. then temperatures dial down a little bit about five degrees. here is our storm system. it drives a potent cold front across the area into thursday. thursday is when we see we are going to see very cool temperatures, only about 70 for thursday. 89 today, 85 wednesday, and then 70 thursday. that will be the coolest air we have seen so far this season. the wind will start to pick up wednesday in the high country. we'll see gusts up to 35, maybe 45 miles per hour. here is wednesday at 5:00 p.m. as we get going into thursday we'll see more wind throughout the state favoring mainly the
