we start with breaking news from half moon bay, a pedestrian hit and killed by a chp patrol car, it happened outside a restaurant called sam's chowder house. katie has the late-breaking details for us. >> reporter: we are standing here in the parking lot. look to the side, you can see a number of highway patrol cars as they start the investigation. at 8:30 tonight, a chp officer driving north radioed in sing he had just hit and killed a pedestrian. the man was a 74-year-old filipino man, staff said that he had just finished leave the

the killer. he suffered major trauma to the head and died in his home last night. the times reports his thirty- eight-year-old 38-year-old son was arrested. neighbor say clark had just celebrated his 80th birthday. >> he smiled at me all the time and he always stopped to say hello and i would say hello to him as well. it was great having him around. >> his daughter was also injured. she was treated and released. and people who knew him say that he made a major impact and he was a trustworthy realtor and community leader. two people were shot and killed near dolores park. and they do not believe a gunman is on the loose. a man and woman were found dead inside of the car this morning. a gun was found nearby. this is the second shooting at
