workplace romance that to the deadly turn. we just spoke to the woman who never thought her friend would kill her fianci. >> reporter: she never saw this coming. we just spoke with her and this was not a case of a love triangle. investigators say that when this happened, and this woman's fianci was killed in their driveway she was not even able to see the suspect. she told me that in the last hour she had known the suspect, rk th is coyewoars.,er she and her fianci knew them. they were friends. and in the last couple of weeks she started getting inquires. he wanted to ask her out and she kept saying no. even the day of, on her last day at the job, her fianci picked her up and they were headed home and they were going to make a life in las vegas with their daughter. and then someone came into the driveway with a gun, pointed it at her fianci and killed him.

here's what she had to say.>> we were friends. we worked at the same job, so even though my boyfriend, me, and him we were friends. >> reporter: did you ever think you would do something like this?>> no. >> reporter: they were about to get married and make a life in las vegas. investigators believe that changed when her coworker had other plans. he wanted to be with her by killing her fianci. >> how many shots were fired? >> more than two. >> reporter: now he is behind bars and charged with murder. kevin prasad provide security he plotted to kill mark mangaccat shooting them at close range in the couple's driveway. he was trying to get him to leave her boyfriend and go out with him. how many times had he asked you

out? >> he just said don't go, i want to be with you. so he would just say something like a friendly joke. >> reporter: did he ever make you nervous?>> no. >> reporter: he works in the security business at the airport. did he have any criminal background?>> no, not with us. nothing. >> reporter: they masterminded a way to kill mark mangaccat. she said she never saw the killer at the time. >> i was sad and crying and heartbroken and i'm thinking what happened? he has no enemies. i don't have any enemies either. >> reporter: i spoke with the victim's mother and she said that she was in shock as well and had no idea that any of this could have happened.

now, these two men are behind bars. and a fiancis with her daughter without her husband. that is the latest here from daly city. a morgan hill police officer is on administrative leave after a wild incident that left a teenage girl with a bullet wound to her i. it began when the driver of the stolen van let officers on a chase over the weekend. came to a stop at the montagne avenue. the goal was a passenger in the van and as she was directed to get on the ground, an officer accidentally discharged his gun. it ricocheted off the ground and a fragment hit her. she was taken to the hospital. a san francisco couple is accused in an elaborate housing brought. they kicked tenant out to turn the units into illegal airbnbs. then they stage the homes to look lived in to fool city

buildings.>> we are talking about 14 units in buildings across the city. >> reporter: and for a while, it worked. they brought in $700,000 through the illegal units in 11 months. and when the properties were not being rented, they were staged look lived in for any possible visits by city inspectors. >> they had fake leases and they had dirty dishes in the sink's, they had closed in the closets and they had towels draped over the door to the >> reporter: so how was the trickery exposed? they kept using the same costco items at each staging and the inspector had a moment and caught on. they are seeking a penalty of five and half million dollars and that is about six times the value of the illegal bookings.

right now san francisco officials are taking action to place regulations on electric scooters. the city is looking to limit the number of scooters allowed. and they would charge annual permit fees and keep scooters offside box. they would require each company to have a maximum fleet of 500 scooters. rental company say they are promising to educate riders about the rules and scooter etiquette. california is suing the trump administration again. they are challenging plans against the epa. they would require vehicles to get 36 miles to the gallon by 2025. about 10 miles a gallon better than the current standard, epa administrator, scott pruitt, he said the rules are not necessary. california disagrees. >> this is that health and life and death and this character in washington with his expensive

russian election interference? and regarding the decision to fire him, when was it made? why? and who played a role? he would also like to know about michael flynn, who is now cooperating with the special counsel's investigation. >> i asked for his resignation, he respectfully gave it. >> reporter: he was fired 24 days into the trump administration for lying about his contacts with the russian ambassador. robert mueller wants to know what the president knew about those phone calls and why he decided to fire flynn. he wasted no time firing back on twitter. the president said it was disgraceful that the questions were leaked to the media. in another tweet he said it would seem very hard to obstruct justice for crime that never happened. witchhunt. robert mueller's team has told them that the president is not considered a target, still,

the first day facebook is trying to move past its data sharing fiasco and announced today it will launch a dating app. mark zuckerberg shared the details on the first day of the f8 developer's conference. he said it will be for long- term relationships, not hookups. it will allow users to build dating profiles through an opt in feature. match.com stock plummeted. but the parent company seems unconcerned saying facebook's product could be great for u.s. russian relationships. that was a not-so-subtle dig. now from the conference we have more. >> reporter: what a difference a year makes. last year mark zuckerberg talked about augmented reality and this year he talked a lot about the scandal surrounding his company.>> this has been an intense year. >> reporter: during his keynote address at the f8 developer's

stored. >> reporter: another feature gave zuckerberg a chance to poke fun at himself. watch party will let them watch videos while chatting with their friends.>> let's say that your friend is testifying in congress. for example, now you can bring your friends together and you can laugh together and cry together. some of my friends actually did this. let's not do that again anytime soon. >> reporter: this is supposed to be facebook's largest f8 conference, but there are those boycotting this who say they will not go and why. that is coming up at 6 pm. the silicon valley is home to some of the wealthiest companies, but more more people who live there cannot afford to.

that is according to a new report by the nonprofit california housing partnership and found that santa clara county's lowest income renters spend about 62% of their income just on housing. many renters need to earn four times the minimum wage. and that's just to afford the average apartment. a southern california company said they can fix the housing crisis and do it quickly. live in palo alto we can see a home that can be built in eight hours. >> reporter: quite a scene out here. you do not see this every day. we have crews moving in a section of this house and this is the fifth section out of six. they start at 11:30 am. they have gotten this far about six hours later. you could be looking at the

future of home building in california. one by one they were brought in , strapped in, and hoisted up. prefabricated homes are taking the bay area housing market to new heights.>> i hope they don't drop this. >> reporter: this 2500 square foot home arrived in six modules that are 90% in his, complete with appliances and counters and in the bathroom lighting fixtures are already in. the two-year-old startup made these 400 miles away in rialto, were workspace and construction labor is cheaper. inside the warehouse they are not affected by whether and can run a much tighter schedule and waste less material. the ceo said while the foundation is getting ready, the house was being built at the same time.>> we can build and a half to one third of the

time that it would normally take. >> reporter: they weigh about 15 tons each and they gently lower them and that takes about 20 to 30 minutes. this homeowner said the bill time was reduced from a year and a half to seven months saving her money on a rental home. >> it takes a lot of the unknowns and unpredictable's out of the process. >> i still feel that we took a chance, but i would do this again. this is the way to go. >> reporter: and so the construction time has been cut in about half an the construction cost has been reduced by about 25%. one the last module goes in, they have about two months work in electrical and plumbing. they expect to be in the home by the beginning of july. new video out of brazil shows a massive high-rise fire

causing this building to completely collapse. it happened early this morning in sco paulo. you can see a fiery explosion and the building caves and. the abandoned building was occupied by about 150 squatters. and smoldering debris is all that is left of a 26 story building. one person has died and at least 50 families lived in that building. a strange police chase took place in southern california. this was the driver of a motor home. the suspect was involved in a dispute with his wife and they believe that two of his children were on that motorhome. there is a dog in the passenger seat. and the man was driving through kern county. and new redwood park is opening where you would least expect it. in the silicon valley. the bear creek redwoods open creek reserve is across from
