foggy in livermore at 42. in santa rosa, you're down to 39 degrees this morning. as we take you through your afternoon, 63 in san francisco for a high. okay, you'll see high of 66. low 70s for concord, livermore, as well as for san jose. 70 as you look ahead across parts of the north bay. we will talk of that coming up. house looking on the richmond/san rafael bridge? >> we are getting reports of an accident. chp enbridge crews did a good job clearing this out of the roadway. just passed that area, we got a six car crash involved with the richmond/san rafael bridge. westbound direction. that is the ion pretty much to get all but one car off the span there. at one point, all lanes were blocked. at least one lane is now open. so traffic is moving through

there, but it is a little bit slow. just passed this area were you're seeing not a lot of trouble >> as you get towards the midspan area, that's where you see some brake light. hopefully we will get that one last speedbump cleared out of the lanes. take a look at traffic for those supercommuters. if you wake up and you plan on take that driver from 205 over to 580, it's up. there is a crash. so traffic is backed up beyond their. a fire breaks out in an apartment building in brisbane, setting residents out onto the streets. >> jackie ward is joining us live at the scene this morning, where crews are still mopping up. >> reporter: kenny and michelle, we are right in the middle of downtown. the streets are completely blocked off, and there are fire crews here. and the fire has been knocked down. but crews expected to be in here a little longer. this all started a few hours ago on the second floor of the apartment building you're looking at. a person was cooking when the stove and cabinets caught fire in his unit. the fire spread to the condo wall and up the 3rd for, damaging two units on that level. as of right now, two people are

>> police say yesterday afternoon, the tither was walking through this mobile home park in fairfield with other children when he was suddenly struck by a car. police say the driver is this man, 38-year-old's a really oh tellez of fairfield and we're told he made lee told off. the rest of the little boy's family and an emergency crew tried to save him, but it was too late. >> unfortunately, very sadly, the child was transported to the hospital but did not make it. do feel that alcohol is involved in this. >> police say the suspect turned himself in and was arrested after a massive church. the driver was still being interviewed. he is expected to be charged with vehicular homicide. happening today, a pair of the community meetings will be held for parents and students of mcclymonds high school on the toxic groundwater on the campus. after testing the school's air quality, experts found no evidence that the chemical solvent tce is vaporizing into the air.

it is 5:23. metering lights are officially on at the bay bridge. a broken-down vehicle in the carpool lanes, not too far from where the toll plaza is. and their clearing an accident on the richmond/san rafael bridge. michelle? supervisors in santa clara county are trying to head off a strike by thousands of county workers. the board is under pressure to intervene before a potential woke up this friday. supervisors will meet this afternoon at 2:00. the strike would come after a 10-day walk out r. that was followed by voluntary mediation. that union representing some 12,000 workers including 911 dispatchers and nurses is concerned about short staffing and excessive turnover linked to low pay. the units is a strike vote last august will serve as authorization for a new strike this friday. on our health question this

where those cars are traveling there off to the side, you can see the are moving with no delays. we did see a bit of a backup there momentarily. my guess is that everything is cleared out of the roadway. not the case, though, for the rest of their lanes there. you got a backup you than 880 over past. the metering lights are on. still slow ride. it is business as usual as you work your way out of the east bay into san francisco. and taking a quick look at the overview, we have a crash a end line. >> i'm jackie ward live in brisbane, where moments ago, police officers told the people, most of the people who live in this apartment building, i should say, that they can get out of the cold and go back inside. pg&e is now going to each unit, relighting pilot lights on furnaces exiting the gas back on. a fire started on the second floor, making these people evacuate their homes early this morning around 3:00. a person was cooking when the stove an ambulance caught fire and his unit. fire quickly spread up to the common wall and up the -- to the third floor. that damage two more units on that level. so the two people are displaced right now. local code enforcement officials will soon be coming out and no word yet on when everyone's utilities may be back up and running. but at one point, the battalion chief told us that as many as 21 people maybe displaced from this apartment fire. so although it is still
