roadways and i got word of a new crash. it's along westbound 580. that is the 580 portion of the bridge. if are you headed to marin. you may have a few brake lights. it's block that number 2 lane from the left and looks like injuries. we have a close eye. the rest of the way on 101 into san francisco. fairly quiet, though chp did issue a fog advisory for parts of the golden gate. we aren't seeing a lot of that. north of here as you head -- on to the bridge. you may see a bit there. that's a little sluggish. seeing the brake lights out of the pass. already getting busy along the dublin. this morning we are learning more about a widespread covid outbreak on the cal football team. >> saturday's game is postponed. berkeley's health department said 44 people on the team have covid. justin andrews looking in to what caused this outbreak to happen. he joins us live fe

campus. good morning. >> good morning. the berkeley health department confirming to us that the team fumbled and following proper covid safety protocols. they said the team didn't test and didn't stay home when they were sick. the health department confirming the team didn't mask up while they were inside. the athletic director said those who didn't take the trip to arizona for last saturday's game tested positive for covid. we are talking 24 players were missing including starting quarterback chase garber. even more players test the positive for covid with cal and also usc this weekend. 99% of the team though is vaccinated. the team is frustrated all of this. the frustration stems to center around some confusion between the city of berkeley and the university health services

testing policy of testing vaccinated players. the athletic director confirms no test means no play. >> you aren't following berkeley public health's guidance which is executed by the university of california and ultimately the one i would -- we are doing what the university of california said and you wouldn't be able to play. >> going to social media venting their frustrations. also the game on saturday. when that will be played again? i will dive into all of that. we are live in berkeley this morning. i'm justin andrews. the live news desk. we are following the latest on the pfizer bid to have its booster shot approved for everybody over the age of 18. it's applied two federal regulate ears and they are expected to make their decision very soon. we are talking about the fda and the cdc. right now boosters of the pfizer and moderna shots are only available for people over the age of 65.

those with severe medical conditions that would leave them compromised or those who live and work in places that would put them more at risk. the fda expected to grant the request before thanksgiving and well ahead of the other holiday gatherings. we are expecting in december. now cbs mornings will have a little more with the united states surgeon general. happening today the governor is scheduled to visit a vaccine and flu shot clinic in los angeles county. >> he is expected to push for booster eligibility and getting kids vaccinated. we are live from the n mateo event center where they have a play land themed vaccine clinic. >> we are talking a clinic with superheros, a red carpet this is in an effort to help kids feel more comfortable as they get their shot. let's take a look at the video this is from last weekend with the vaccine clinic. you can see the friendly

characters greeting kids just to help them distract themselves as they get their vaccine. last weekend appointments build up quickly and hav appointments today through saturday. they are receiving the pfizer vaccine. it's a third of the dose authorized for those 12 and older. in addition to the state trying to encourage families to get their children vaccinated, the governor urged people to get them in order to avoid the surge the state saw last winter. >> starting to see hospitalizations go back up. it's the winter surge. that's why i can't impress you more, get that booster shot. it's safe, it'll save your life. >> this vaccine clinic today is starting at 2:30 p.m. again it's at the san mateo

event center. appointments can be made through my turn. new this morning the independent journal is saying the county see age high demand of coronavirus vaccines. they started giving shots ages five to 11. over the first three days of vaccinations. more than 2300 between that age range were vaccinated out stripping supply over the weekend. first responderns in alameda have until december 21th it get fully vaccinated. it's all part of a new rule that applies to those who enter high risk health care facilities. anyone not vaccinated must test weekly and wear a mask. i got vaccinated. i want to see my family. >> rules rules. >> yeah. >> you know if they don't see us -- for themselves, i guess sometimes it's good for your family too many. >> we want to save each other. we should all get the shot. >> right now a booster shot

isn't required to be fully vaccinated. santa clara county jails seeing a huge spike in covid cases. it started -- with 15 infections. at least 84 new cases surfaced. a woman whose husband is an inmate blames improper mask wearing by deputies. the. and car break-ins in san francisco have gotten so out of hand that tourists are being warned not to rent cars. >> businesses say they see break-ins in broad daylight every day. the da's office said right now only about 2% of car burglaries in san francisco result in an arrest. they prosecuted the overwhelming majority of them. they said that's good and

explained there's a lot of thievery. >> they only cleared 3.5% of larceny cases. which covers the hottest tourist spots. too gilroy who made an arrest after a deadly halloween party at a city councilwoman's home. this after the first suspect was released. investigators searched three homes and arrested an 18-year- old who they say was a felon in possession of a gun. however they are not calling him a suspect and they aren't sure if the gun was used in a home seed. >> we heard there was a search warrant that was executed here at this house. >> on the property? >> excuse me? >> have you to be on the property? >> she didn't tell me to leave. >> they -- that's where the councilmember is said to be cooperating with police. the scott peterson case is

set for a status hearing at ten this morning. in september san mateo county judge ruled peterson will be resentenced to life without parole. a former charles manson follower has been recommended for release by the parole board again. she was found guilty of participating in the 1969 stabbing death of a couple, one of the crimes committed by the cult known as the manson family. yesterday she had a 24th appeal before the parole board. she was found fit for release for the 5th time. the four previous approvals have been reversed by california governors. testimony in the elizabeth holmes fraud trial will continue later on today. this after the man who once ran the lab revealed the company was not using it's own machines

a reporter at our sister station visited five in and outs in los angeles yesterday. not once was he shown to see proof of vaccination which the county requires for indoor dining. all in and outs are closed for in door dining because the company said it refuses to be the vaccine police. we reached out to in and out for comment but haven't heard back yet. fast food workers in oakland and campbell joining a statewide strike picketing outside a burger king and jack in the box restaurant. they say they are fed up with their working conditions and are calling for a $15 minimum wage. >> they have gotten worse during the pandemic. >> we demand respect from the

going so just a heads up. it'll be slick. let's head back to the bay bridge and talk about the drive. no metering lights. it is busier out there and we are seeing a few more cars make that frequent from the east shore freeway toward the maze and into san francisco. that is our slowest approach right now. heads up there if you are going toward the bay bridge. getting crowded this morning. golden gate bridge. lane changes happening right now as you head through there. giving that -- giving the bridge span one more lane southbound as commuters head in that direction. right now things pretty quiet. foggy. north of here along 101, foggy along the coasta 10 #. no delays as you work toward foster city. your travel times on the bridges all still in the green. that's good news. that includes the richmond, san rafael bridge. we had an earlier crash. it doesn't look like its causing any brake lights or issues. 80 westbound clear. if are you going in that

>> that's what one san mateo clinic is using to help kids feel more comfortable as they get their shot. the push to encourage child vaccinations. this does seem like a sweet idea to get kids not so scared of getting the shot the. >> that's right. it's an effort to distract them as they are getting the shot. the vaccine was authorized for five to 11-year-old's about a week ago and counties throughout the bay area continued their push to get more kids in the age group vaccinated. this as the state seeing the increase in cases. it'll have heroes, friendly characters, just to greet kids and help distract them. that was first held last weekend where hundreds of kids got their shots. appointments held up quickly. they have appointments starting today at 2:40 p.m. through saturday. as a reminder five to 11-year-

a broken down vehicle around treasure islands. heading in to san francisco. are you looking about a 14 minute drive to go from the maze into the city. look at that with the metering lights. just getting flipped on. you can see all that back up building. we are seeing things getting crowded across the east shore freeway. the pass, busy here also. speeds dipping down about eight miles an hour. that's sluggish out of tracy. onto 580. you will stay slow to north flynn and then get a break and then see things get crowded again. here say live look this is west of there. 580, 680 dublin. also this morning, your travel time officially in the red zone. 48 minutes to go from 205 toward 680. still looking good on highway 4 if that's your freeway. 33 minutes antioch over to 80. let's look at some of the bay area bridges as well as the golden gate bridge.

things looking good here. highway 1 along the coast. for the 5th year the bay area can claim the most expensive zip code in the country. >> that's according to property shark in marin. it hit a new record median home sales price of # $.45 million. increase of 7% year over year. san francisco ranged the most expensive zip codes of any city. i'm aware of that trying purchase a home now. macy's is raising its wages. the company announced its boosting minimum bay to $15 an hour by next may. the move is in abhijit effort to attract and maintain employees. it's launching a tuition benefit program. the company will cover 100% of tuition, books and fees for
