to welcome back. let's take a look at the big board, dow down in the red 45 points. >> remember that tiktok video about the bay bridge tunnel that went viral? jocelyn moran took her own walk through the tunnel for a little history lesson. >> under the bay bridge toll plaza. >> reporter: that video posted by an east bay resident had more than 340,000 views on tiktok. it shows the tunnel with a walkway and at one point in the video, you could see the toll

collectors stairs they get to their booths. it generated curiosity. we talked with caltrans' bart nay. first, there are two tunnels. the first was a public access tunnel used by toll collectors and others to get to the bus stop. >> there's a big green sign there that shows you this was the public access tunnel here. >> reporter: that's a straight walkway. >> anyone that needed to get to the toll plaza could come to the bermer roadside where the buses stop and that was their access. >> reporter: he says the other tunnel in the video that shows the stairs was used only by toll collectors. >> they needed safe access under the freeway. >> reporter: he says the reason it was open that day the video was taken was because contractors using on the bridge were using it and he said it's pretty dangerous when you get up to the booth because of the ongoing traffic. >> two weeks ago, an oversize load destroyed that one.

>> reporter: these tunnels are full of history. they've been here since the 1930s. back then, toll collectors were state police too and these tunnels were their access ways to their day-to-day job. >> our icon is bridges in the bay area. if you dig deep and are interested in the history, this is kind of a fun fact to discover. >> reporter: we talked about the tunnel never open to the public. the public access one used to get to the bus stop is no longer open to the public as of recently. these gates have just been installed. >> these are just recently added, and as you can see, they can be opened for public use if buses come back. happening tonight, the full bank of concord, the drive-in to fight hunger starts at 7:00 at the concord drive-in. enjoy a night under the stars and help them reach their goal to provide 250,000 meals to people in need. we are seeing an increased

fire threat today, first alert meteorologist jessica burch has what that means for you. you can definitely feel how dry it is out there, jessica. >> it's drying up more for the next couple days. this is a live look from mount diablo where we are under a red-flag warning. that lasts until tomorrow at 8:00 p.m. for the county line alone. we'll talk more about what you can expect in the local area in a second. current temperatures, 60s near oakland, san francisco, 70s, in the san jose area, extending off into the next couple hours, even into the next couple days. notice the winds stay really consistent from offshore. take a look at fairfield. as we head into the next couple days, winds will be pushing in from a different direction, and that's driving the dry conditions. we're dealing with gusty conditions, dry conditions, and really warm temperatures. that's just the big reason why the national weather service put out the red-flag warning. so this extend into the next couple hours.

relative humidity will continue to decrease and even into tomorrow where wind advisory will be in effect for solano, east bay hills and pretty much everywhere from alameda south. looking at the high temperatures for day, day-time highs are still above average. we're dealing with mid to upper 70s, low 80s in the forecast, the santa clara valley, tri-valley, still mid-80s in sight. for the bay, cooler but still dealing with 80s from novato into san rafael all the way north into santa rosa. a look at your next seven days, we are warming up into next week, lots of sunshine in the forecast for us. as we extend into the east bay and north bay, we're not breaking those 90s anytime soon -- not breaking triple digits, i should say, anytime soon. we're still dealing with 90s for next tuesday and wednesday. we'll keep you updated in the weather center. >> i have a dog pool coming to the house today. >> oh, my gosh. >> so the pups can cool off.
