some time ago, the conservative party stopped being the old coalition of centrist it once was. about two weeks ago i had a conversation with a former prime minister who said with terrible sadness. he said i no longer recognize today's conservative party that i served for 30 years. that is the x prime minister speaking. so what is for many of us, that once a time supported the tories. the party has been taken over by, what i would call right wing nationalists. what i believe they will be capable of doing, there losing their grip on power. first we have the disaster of johnson, we have the worst disaster of liz truss. one thing they may be able to do is stop, the man who mostly country wants to become the next prime minister from getting the job. they hold him responsible for johnson's fall. it is heartbreaking for all,

when they did something similar to this the entire family came under pressure. >> according to her instagram account, just at not wearing her headscarf during the competition it was unintentional. there was poor scheduling and she was called to climb unpredictably. she added she was on her way back to around, -- iran alongside a team based on previous schedule. the embassy confirmed sheila for around -- she left for iran tuesday morning. there are unclear, as hear more from our reporter. >> we doot know, she has not been answering her phone, i have tried to answer -- contact her on her phone and she is not been answering. the language used on the story and instagram, even in our reporting we are not sure it is written by her. it is instagram on her page come in unnecessarily written by her. she now says it was a mistake. she has apologized for causing any concern.

this actually has created more worries amongst somebody people. the story itself, love people believe it has -- a lot of people believe it was written under pressure. she was put in a position where she will be forced to backtrack from her decision to compete without a headscarf as you can see in these images. >> death threats in 2020 after photographs of her without a hijab circulated after a turn, she did not return to iran sent. >> i was wearing a loose hijab at the beginning but i was asked to wear a proper hijab. instead i decided to fight against it. i decided not to wear the scarf anymore after receiving threats from the iranian regime. i took my headscarf and --

[indiscernible] i had to choose my style, i was asked to write an apology letter on my instagram and address it publicly. i was given a list of things to do. i knew that if i followed those things, i do not believe it. >> let's also hear the concerns of the un on the story. >> we are aware of the case and we are following it closely, concerns are being raised with the authorities as well. what we have to stress, women should never be prosecuted for what they wear. they should never be subjected to violationsuch as arbitrary detention for any kind of violence with regards to what they wear. we will be following this case very closely. >> is also get an update from bc persians. >> she posted on her instagram

-- vote. >> how are democrats likely to fare in the midterm vote? >> they have a wafer thin majority in the house of representative you can count on the fingers of one hand. this senate is 50-50 with the vice president having a casting vote if there is a tie. they only need to lose a hand full of seeds to lose control of either of those chambers. that tends to happen to parties that hold the white house in midterm elections. you added that this massive economic downturn, inflation pretty rapid, interest rates going up there all sorts of things on the voter's mind. while abortion is aig thing for love people and may not be the biggest deal. there is lots and lots of hurdles between here and him introducing such a bill. he is expected to give that kind of strong response, if you like from democrats that have been raging since this supreme court

decision back in june. >> i wonder if people will go to the ballot box, with caveats with the polls, some independent women, instead were tending to vote republican. some of the numbers were not coming through for them in the polls on this point anyway on abortion. it is the economy that is leading the national discussion. >> yes, the polls are tighter than you would expect at the moment. republicans have edged it a little bit more recently. they are tight, democrats have taken some heart from that, particularly, some of them saying that is in part the abortion effect. the supreme court judgment effect. even so, there is lot of president that says they will not do terribly well this time around. >> thank from gary. i am seeing a reuters poll come in, the u.s. president joe bid's public approval rating
