libya right now, and the obama administration saying that the death toll estimates in libya after two months of fighting could be as high as 30,000 people. the u.s. ambassador to libya saying it's harr to gauge how many people have died in the crackdown on protestors and the fighting between rebels and pro- government forces. just this morning a libyan doctor says a nato airstrike mistakenly killed 12 rebels in the city. people were able to buy firearms in 2010, federal law allows it. the people who did buy the weapons had to go through the proper background checks, but some are calling this a terror vamp in the gun laws and are working to change that. new details in the san bruno gas explosion and now federal prosecutors are asking for thousands of pages of documents from california regulators as they launch an investigation into the explosion. meanwhile, state regulators, pg&e officials, and

welcome back. clouds this morning, expected to clear this afternoon as the temperatures warm up t will be windy in the hills today. another big story is the severe weather hitting the south and the cleanup today as they search for more victims of the tornados. the storm that's ripped through the south has now killed 201 people. that number has phone up. 201 in five states, 131 killed in alabama alone. the president declared a state of emergency and you can see the latest video of a tornado

damage. we're looking at some of the things left behind, it has killed 200 people in five states, the president theired alabama a state of emergency on the left this is videotape where the tornados left all of the damage. on the right you can see the destruction in birmingham where the severe weather swept through as well. lots of rubble and wreckage. a twister was probably a mile wide. look at the video from spalding county. this is where 13 people were killed and homes were splintered by the winds. you can see that the roof is torn off many of the buildings here, lot of damage and gas station. rv business and private homes. and the governor there has declared a disaster area and states of emergency for four

morning. we start our bridge check, look here, the bay bridge is no longer. it's an easier ride than even an hour ago for the westbound bridge. no delay. the metering lights are on. and getting lighter now. looks like we may have hit the peak t is looking good across the span. and there are no delays throughout the marin county. and a good ride here even at the inbound central freeway where it joins. no backup or congestion. we have a closure in dublin. this is dublin boulevard. that intersection is shut down and the chp has helped by closing down sub680 to dublin boulevard. that's part of the closure.

here is more on that, we'll go live and live in dublin with more on the officer involved shooting. six and a half hours after it started. they believe it ended right around where you are looking at the white suv in the parking lot. according to the authorities we spoke with -- spoke with. this happened at 1:30 when a veteran. she was on patrol and saw something suspicious going on in the parking lot. her car is here t is running. she is in the hospital at this time after a vicious beating that took place from the transient. according to the authorities she called and told them she was going to check it out. three minutes later she calls back and said she fired upon the 50 -- he was in his 50s, around there, a transient. he has been arrested several times for public drunkenness.

he got into fights before. they believe that he was so brutal in his attack he was kicking her, stomping her, punching her and trying to slam her head to the ground. she managed to free herself. fire as shot at him. we don't know why it ended in the parking lot there if the authorities believe he was trying to run away or even tussled over there. but that's why they are investigating that scene and they have been there. his body is there. the coroner is here. as they remove it and let the next of kin know what happened. at this time injuries to the head. and as far as this is company
