with those bad bolts still in place. today -- kron 4's dan kerman got an up close, hands on look, at one of those problem bolts.

opening weekend celebration plans include a walk and bike ride across the new span. and as of now, those plans have not been canceled. new at 11. a woman uses a stun gun to subdue a violent bart passenger in pleasant hill today.

kron four's philippe djegal explains, the woman, and other passengers. prevented a bad situation from getting even worse. >> reporter: at the height of the early morning commute. bart police say as a train was approaching the pleasant hill station. this man. 30-year-old zachary mccabe. got into an on-board argument with a 62-year-old man. police say mccabe was occupying two seats. and, wouldn't let the man sit down. mccabe lost his temper and attacked the man. witnesses stepped in and pulled the two men off each other. and, that's when police say a woman used a stun gun to subdue mccabe. the altercation lasted about ten minutes. before police were able to board the train and arrest mccabe. who was also treated at a hospital for non-life threatening injuries. the 62-year-old man was also unharmed. and, neither was the woman who used the stun gun. bart passenger maddy clarke

says the woman was right to step in. mccabe was booked into matinez detention facility. charged with battery on a transit passenger. that's a misdemeanor. carrying penalities of up to one year in county jail. or, a ten thousand dollar fine. in pleasant hill, philippe djegal, kron four news. >> the passengers who intervened, including the woman who used a stun gun, were not arrested. police say they were acting in self defense. >> jacqueline: it was a pretty nice day on the bay bridge. we are seeing mainly clear skies. the high temperatures today were pretty warm. almost 90 degrees in napa. 85 degrees

in redwood city. 85 in concord. and we are not going to see temperatures like this tomorrow. things are going to cool off with fog along the coast. the wind is going to pick up. people marched in several cities today across the nation. demanding changes to current immigration laws. one rally was held in san francisco and another one in san jose hundreds of people showed up in support of immigration reform. many stood in front of the crowd. to share their story of struggle. and saying major reform needs to take place. especially involving deportation they said. roughly a thousand people get deported every day. >> we are hoping to stop the deportation to sell all workers can be fully protected and recognized.
