live report. happening now. an off-ramp to i-80 to shutdown due to police activity. kron four's jackie sissel is live at central avenue in el cerrito with more, jackie? >>: according to the c h 0130 this morning set this eye minivans go by with a flat front right tire basically writing on its lamp. they got behind a vehicle and started to initiate eight stop when the vehicle swerved to the left came back across all lanes down an embankment and ultimately ended up on its side on central avenue. unfortunately the driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead. that was around 140 this morning. since then, chp has been out here investigating the accident. the off ramp has been close. about a half-hour ago, i was

between bart and its workers now there's an added twist. as many bart workers seem to be unhappy with their union leaders. kron four's will tran is live at the west oakland bart station with more, will? >>will: we are less than 41 hours away from a possible barge strike. commuters are so tired of this. they are caught in the middle of this tug of war. if this seems like some of the bart workers are upset with their union leaders because they believe the union leaders keep backing off on some of their demands to the point where if they say yes we like this deal and take us back, some of them say i might just voted down and say go ahead with a strike. also another dimension of this, the oakland a's are still in the stick of things with the playoffs. they have a game tomorrow against the detroit tigers. the bart trains will run just fine but after that if the a's go deep into the playoffs and if there is a strike that

morning news. a missing patient. and a body discovered at san francisco general. how the two may be connected next. san francisco police are investigating a suspicious death after a body was found in a stairwell at s-f general. this comes more than two weeks after a 57-year old patient disappeared from the hospital. kron four's mike pelton is live at s-f general with an update, mike?

investigators have not officially identified the body but they are looking to see if it is that of 57 year-old patient when spalding disappeared from her bed more than two weeks ago. sheriff's unguarded the exterior stairwell where the woman's body was discovered. it appears the body was decomposing and had been there for several days. the hospital and shares departments are investigating the case but have yet to identify the body or that is now with the county coroner. family is anxiously awaiting answers. lance aldon checked into the hospital for an affection

and shortly after that she disappeared from her hospital bed. that was all more than two weeks ago. a family friend tells us she was a frail and possibly confuse to do to the medication she was taking. a hospital spokesperson tells me this morning there will be another update from the hospital today. we don't know exactly when that will happen but we will pass along to any new information once we receive it. >>james: thanks mike. >>darya: but it in update on the hot spot from george rask. >>george: there's no update for this situation on interstate 80. no change. they have yet managed to clear the wrapper off the vehicle central avenue off ramp from westbound interstate 8 remains close as that has been since early this morning. the chp tried to stop a vehicle that was driving on its rim with a blown tire in the early morning hours. the vehicle swerved crashed. the driver was killed. the investigation continues. for

the reason for the late the investigation is because of the fatality in part but also because this was the result that's why this investigation is taking so long. in the meantime, here's the impact on the traffic. backed up now for highway 4 on interstate 80 in the westbound direction. early estimates thought they might get it open at 7 and then they said 733 still looks like those are both optimistic estimates. as we continue to track delays for the westbound for a ride through the willow pass for 242 sx 80 southbound in the south bay, and 101 accident at alum rock all go cleared from the land now permit it still manages to back up the traffic all the way to 85 and that makes 85 slow at the guadalupe park away. and palo alto crash for 11 north
