also in san francisco -- the muslim community is reacting to president trump's address. kron4's alecia reid joins us live from the u-c hastings law campus with more. because of all the fear that has spread through bay area communities from this new administration, lawyers have been getting bombarded with questions from immigrants a number of bar associations joined forces with the council on american islamic relations tonight. there's a room full of lawyers inside the u-c hastings law building ----- right now they're being trained to help immigrants who are in fear immigration and customs enforcement may approach them.the president touched on immigration , economic opportunity , and

national security. the amended plan for the travel ban - which affected 7 predominantly muslim countries --- is expected to be rolled out this week. lawyers here tonight are prepping, should they need to jump in and help their community. now this was all planned independently of the president's speech to congress tonight.but organizers say it turned out to be the perfect timing.sot - standupboard of supervisors unanimously approved legislation that the city will not cooperate with any attempts to have a registry for muslims or any others. and if the city does, they can be sued. it will still need to be signed off bby the mayor.reporting live in san francisco

new information on the crash of a small plane monday in southern california...with passengers from san jose on board. three people are dead...including a teenage girl...and two other people are seriously injured. and tonight we're seeing actual video of the crash. grant lodes has been tracking this story since it broke yesterday...he's here now with what we know tonight. that plane - with five people on board...was headed for san jose. it crashed into two homes in riverside moments after take-off. no one in the homes or on the ground was injured or killed. but one of the two injured adult women...is now in the burn unit with 3rd degree burns to 90 percent of her body. tonight investigators are trying to figure out what went wrong...and a south bay community is struggling to process this. home

surveillance video captures the exact moments the plane crashes into the residential neighborhood...about 50 miles east of los angeles. a large huge smoke... plume rising into the sky. the five people on the plane had been in disneyland for a cheerleading competition...th ey were headed back to san jose. today we caught up with the superintendent in charge of san jose's union middle school. she says 50 of her students had gone to the competittion. and as they await confirmation of those who died, grief counselors have been called out to help...the belief is students at the school are connected to the victims. superintendent: it's a wide range of emotions, until we know who died, it's uncertainty. very tough for our students and staff." the coroner in riverside is working to determine the identities of those killed. one witness tells the l-a times...the plane was having problems before takeoff....but

went ahead with the flight. today the n-t-s-b didn't offer specifics of what went wrong right before the twin engine cessna 310 crashed. debris from that scene...scattered 100 to 150 feet. a preliminary report from the ntsb could be released next week. new at 8- the victim of a hit and run is speaking out about the crime that left him hospitalized, facing multiple surgeries. it happened in san francisco's inner richmond district. this is the second hit and run case in this area this month. the two crimes happened within 5 blocks of each other. no arrests have been made in either case. kron4's chuck clifford spoke to the man hit in this latest collision. need a map of these two locations... use the dates as the marker titles... hit & run cases/san francisco as the header/subheaderi will write the script... just need help

with the maparguello and anza in sf - february 8 5th and balboa in sf - feb 17 standupback on february 17th, 72-year-old jack wong. . who has lived his whole life here in san francisco was struck by an unknown vehicle while crossing the street here at balboa and 5th in the richmond district. it's was about 840 in the evening, jack was in the crosswalk and he had the right of way but according to witnesses inside that restaurant a white sedan ran the light here and struck him.. jack was hit on his right side of his body, he was tossed about 15 feet and landed underneath a parked car over there.. he survived but could be in the hospital for a long time.soti don't remember anything.jack wong says he doesn't remember being hit. he recalls entering the crosswalk and then waking up in a hospital bed. soti didn't see the car the hit me. i woke up in the hospital. i was hit on the right side.sot he's very stoicjack's wife, marilynn wong says her husband suffered multiple fractures and lacerations mostly on the right side of his body. he is now unable to sit up and is

continuing to get a close look at the damageat the oroville dam spillway..this drone video shows some residual water. . . but flows have been mostly dialed back to nothing.the result. . . you can see just how extensive the damage is to the spillway. what you don't see -- crews working around the clock to clear debris at the bottomof the concrete structure....that will allow them to start firing up the dam's critical power plant... today authorities say it's all paying off -- and water in the channel below the spillway dropped 23 feet in less than a day.workers may even get at least one of the plant's turbines up and running by the end of the week... police are searching for a man suspected of sexually assaulting a santa clara university student over the weekend. investigators say, a female student was walking home from a friends house just after 8 a-m on sunday, when a man sexually assaulted her. this all happened on the sidewalk near

creek jumped its banks and chased thousands of people from their homes in san jose. tonight... we have newer footage of what it looks like now. take a look . . . you can see a more tamed version .... compared to the anderson reservoir's water levels last week. that's when the reservoir began spilling over its banks... causing the coyote creek to flood. the water district says, the reservoir has finally dipped below capacity.. and is slowly dropping. so far, damage has been pegged at 73- million dollars . . . the city council is expected to ratify a state of emergency declaration which will clear the way for a request for federal funding. the council plans to hold a public hearing to address what happened and why. . . trt:05/ "can quickly fix" several organizations are expected to distribute almost a million dollars in private donations. hundreds of
