from overnight... one person is dead and another is in the hospital after a late night shooting in antioch. it happened on contra loma boulevard just before 9:30 last night. police say both of the victims are from antioch. the surviving victim is in stable condition this morning. police have not released any details on a possible shooter. (darya) an amber alert has been called off and two toddlers are safe after police found the car they were in when it was stolen. we first broke this story last night on the kron 4 news at 10 p-m. this happened in cathedral city in the palm springs area just before 7:00 last night. the 1 and 2- year-old boys were in their baby sitters car when she stepped out and someone stole it. but that car has been recovered and the kids are safe. police have not released any information on the person who stole the car.

( james ) breaking news we are following this morning... two people arrested overnight connected to the deadly terror attack in london. we are also learning new information about the attacker. investigators say his birth name was adrian russell ajao. yesterday he was identified as 52-year-old khalid masood. right now 9 people are in custody in connection to the attack that killed 4 people and injured 50 others. two of the victims are still in critical condition this ( darya ) happening today... the house of representatives is set to vote on the republican health care plan.( james ) the vote was delayed yesterday which prompted president trump to issue an ultimatum telling republican lawmakers to vote on the bill today or live with obamacare.( darya ) karin caifa has the latest from washington. paul ryan / -r- house speaker: for seven and a half years we have been promising the american people that we will repeal and replace this broken

( james ) happening now... police in san jose are investigating how a man died after he was found lying in the middle of a road. he was found last night on north first street and hawthorne way in the city's japan-town neighborhood. the man was un-conscious and not breathing when police arrived. he died at the scene. the santa clara county coroner's office is working to figure out how the man died. his identity will not be released until his family is notified. ( darya ) four bodies found in a home in sacramento lead to a man being arrested in san francisco. the victims were discovered after a family member from san francisco called police in sacramento asking for a welfare check on their family. police say the four victims include two children. people who live in the area say they did ánot hear any fighting or gunshots before the bodies were discovered.

(james) a big story we are following this morning... the mother of a man who was arrested for attempting to kidnap a 13-year-old girl is speaking out this morning. (darya) the incident happened in san francisco on wednesday night when police say the man tried to throw the girl in the trunk of his car. kron4's maureen kelly talked to the suspects mother as police were searching her home for evidence. you feel like the worst mother in the world. really? that's

these heroes came and help this young lady get awaypolice say witnesses were able to give responding officers descriptions of the suspect and the vehicle he was driving, as well as a partial plate. officers spotted a car matching the description a little more than 5 hours later and kept it under surveillance. eigl was taken into custody as he emerged from the residence he was in and started to drive the vehicle.his mother says this happened after police called looking for her son...saying he was headed to the station house to talk to police when he was apprehended.i have never seen him do anything like this he has loving- girlfriend . i mean you know the only thing i can think of is the brock that case and i don't want to be another one of those parents who was like oh he such a special boy blah blah blah. of course i love him dearly and i hope they're wrongeigl has been booked into county jail for kidnapping and assault with intent to commit rape oo a person under 18 years of age.maureen kelly kron4 news

(james) a u-c berkeley graduate is suing a well known professor... claiming he sexually assaulted and harassed her. the student says 84-year-old john searle sexually assaulted her last july when she was working for him as a research assistant. she adds the philosophy professor also told her they were going to be lovers. the lawsuit comes as there have been several sexual assault allegations against u-c berkeley staff in recent years. the university has not yet commented on the lawsuit. ( darya ) the family of a woman who died after drinking tea purchased from a popular shop in san francisco's china town is now suing that store and the herbalist who made the tea. officials say yu-ping xie came to the shop in san francisco looking for something to boost her immune system. the herbalist known as doctor chan wrote her a prescription for a tea. but shortly after drinking it, her family says she started to feel ill.

( darya ) investigators are now learning more about that tea. they say it is made up of 15-different herbs. one of which, if not processed properly can be toxic. an autopsy is now underway to determine the exact cause of death. ( james ) it was an emotional day for family and friends of elena mon-dragon as they gathered to say their final goodbyes. her funeral was held yesterday at the higgins mortuary in antioch. back on march 14th the 16-year-old was killed in hayward. she was the passenger in a stolen car. investigators say the driver of that stolen car rammed into a fremont police cruiser... forcing officers to open fire. elena was caught in the cross fire and died. an autopsy revealed she was two months pregnant.

destinations on time... but a new report says they are leaving thousands of standby passengers at the gate. (james) the head of the pilots' union says nearly 20-thousand passengers were denied boarding in february even though there were empty seats on the flights. (darya) the airline has been trying to improve its on-time performance... and they are accused of leaving standby passengers to make sure flights take off on time. american airlines ranked eighth among the nation's largest 12 airlines at on-time arrivals in 2016... but rose to third in january. ( darya ) people in fremont are on edge after a woman had her gold chain taken while walking around her neighborhood. police say a woman called them around 8:30- tuesday night to report that her gold chain was taken. the woman was walking on park meadow drive with a friend when a man came out of the bushes and tried to grab the necklace off her neck. eventually the woman just gave the man her gold chain so he would leave them alone. the man then took off in a silver colored sedan with tinted windows. the fremont police department says this is the first chain snatch robbery reported this year. last year officers responded to at least 25-similar incidents. many of the victim's were south asian women who wear gold as a part of their custom. ex-wife with a gun outside her work in redwood city and shot himself in the head. investigators are now saying the man, who's been identified as edward eichen, was also shot by police. they say he was simultaneously shot in the chest by an officer as his own gun went off. they also say the shot that hit eichen might have caused him to pull the trigger on his own gun. the officer who shot eichen has been placed on leave. investigators are now waiting for the coroner's report. ( darya ) a little dog in southern california is alive after fire fighters pulled him from a burning building and gave him c-p-r. the fire happened earlier this week in santa monica. when firefighters found the dog he was unconscious and firefighters say after about 20 minutes of care the dog was able to walk on its own and is expected to make a full recovery. no people were injured in the fire.

boulevard just before 9:30 last night. police say both of the victims are from antioch. the surviving victim is in stable condition this morning. police have not released any details on a possible shooter. ( darya ) breaking news... we now know the name of the man arrested in connection to a quadruple homicide in sacramento. 56-year-old salvador vasquez-oliva was arrested in san francisco after four bodies were found in a home in sacramento. the victims were discovered after a family member from san francisco called police in sacramento asking for a welfare check on their family. police say the four victims include two children. people who live in the area say they did ánot hear any fighting or gunshots before the bodies were discovered. salvador vasquez-oliva has been booked into the sacramento county jail. gold chain taken while walking around her neighborhood. police say a woman called them around 8:30- tuesday night to report that her gold chain was taken. the woman was walking on park meadow drive with a friend when a man came out of the bushes and tried to grab the necklace off her neck. eventually the woman just gave the man her gold chain so he would leave them alone. the man then took off in a silver colored sedan with tinted windows. the fremont police department says this is the first chain snatch robbery reported this year. last year officers responded to at least 25- similar incidents. many of the victim's were south asian

( james ) in the south bay... people are still trying to find hosing after being displaced when coyote creek flooded in san jose... and this morning city leaders are calling on the community to help. it has been more than a month since we saw entire neighborhoods in san jose underwater. forcing thousands to evacuate. now officials estimate close to 500- families are still unable to return home. san jose mayor sam liccardo called on land-lords to make more housing available. saying the city would pay the rent. sam liccardo/san jose mayor

( james ) happening now... police in san jose are investigating how a man died after he was found lying in the middle of a road. he was found last night on north first street and hawthorne way in the city's japan-town neighborhood. the man was un-conscious and not breathing when police arrived. he died at the scene. the santa clara county coroner's office is working to figure out how the man died. his identity will not be released until his family is notified. when it was stolen. we first broke this story last night on the kron 4 news at 10 p-m. this happened in cathedral city in the palm springs area just before 7:00 last night. the 1 and 2- year-old boys were in their baby sitters car when she stepped out and someone stole it. but that car has been recovered and the kids are safe. police have not released any information on the person who stole the car. ( darya ) a u-c berkeley graduate is suing a well known professor... claiming he sexually assaulted and harassed her. the student says 84-year-old john searle sexually assaulted her last july when she was working for him as a research assistant. she adds the philosophy professor also told her they were going to be lovers. the lawsuit comes as there have been several sexual assault allegations against u-c berkeley staff in recent years. the university has not yet commented on the lawsuit. (james) police in campbell arrested a 20-year-old volunteer coach they say had an ongoing sexual relationship

with a student. police say they received information that nathaniel makeeff may be involved in an inappropriate relationship with a student at westmont high school in san jose. investigators arrested makeeff at his home in campbell. detectives are working closely with the school district but believe this is an isolated incident. ( darya ) now to a story you will only see on kron 4... the mother of the man accused of viciously attacking a woman on bart is now apologizing.( james ) she says her son was off his medication at the time of the attack. she spoke exclusively with kron 4's lydia pantazes. (darya) american airlines is doing a better job at getting passengers to their destinations on time... but a new report says they are leaving thousands of standby passengers at the gate. (james) the head of the pilots' union says nearly 20-thousand passengers were denied boarding in february even though there were empty seats on the flights. (darya) the airline has been trying to improve its on-time performance... and they are accused of leaving standby passengers to make sure flights take off on time. american airlines ranked eighth among the nation's largest 12 airlines at on-time arrivals in 2016... but rose to third in january. ( darya ) the woman accused of trying to plow into people in a walmart parking lot is now in custody. police arrested 23-year-old jessica malicoat at her home. they were able to identify malicoat after detectives received several tips from the public. the assault happened at the union city walmart on sunday and it was all caught on camera. police say the woman had just left the store agitated after she wasn't able to return some

batteries. in the video you can see a silver honda accord backing up right into five people. the driver stops and then keeps going. a toddler was treated for some minor scrapes. police say fortunately no one was seriously hurt because a shopping cart took the brunt of the hit. malicoat is being held at the santa rita jail and is awaiting her arraignment. (james) a man is now in custody accused of threatening to shoot a woman and her child inside a san francisco park.... and police are now investigating it as a hate crime. it happened at a park on fourth and howard streets. police say 27- year-old joshua ruano is accused of threatening the woman who was wearing a head scarf. they say he was making anti-muslim threats towards the woman and her toddler son. he is now in custody and the district attorney is considering terrorist charges. ( james ) a sexual predator with a long criminal history is back behind bars. police say he made sexual motions towards young teenage boys. it happened earlier this month in fairfax. as kron4's charles clifford

explains, the man is actually from the south bay. the fairfax police departments says that 54-year-old richard thomas williams, who is a "high risk" sex offender, made sexually suggestive comments to several teenage boys here in fairfax earlier this month. according to police, thomas offered the boys money and food to help him wash cars. he also said several inappropriate things which prompted one of the boys to tell his parents about the encounter, and they went to police. sot< chief christopher morin says some suggestive statement and words were made by this person. when the parent came to us we started an investigation.>thomas, who was using an alias at the time, gave one of the teenagers his phone number and the two had exchanged text messages. when police began their investigation, they took over the texting conversation and, posing as one of the boys, agreed to meet up with thomas at a movie theater.. sot when thomas arrived, investigators followed him and were eventually able to identify who he really was. they also learned that williams has a long criminal history and were
