(mark) breaking news this morning out of russia... several people are dead after coordinated bombings at two subway stations. we have the latest details. looking at the bay area traffic maps and updating drive times. there's a backup at the bay bridge toll plaza into the maze. westbound 80 out of the oakland side will take you about 15 minutes to cross the span and get into downtown san francisco. a hot spot approaching the san mateo bridge. wb 92 at hesperian, then it's slow and go past the toll plaza...expect a 15-20 minute trip out of hayward over to the peninsula on westbound 92. ( mark ) breaking news out of russia this morning... ten people have died and 50 have been injured this morning in two subway explosions in saint petersburg. twin coordinated attacks at two different metro stations that appeared to use nail bombs. these are pictures and video showing the chaos inside one of the subway stations. several stations are closed and people are being evacuated. russian officials says they are investigating this as an act of terrorism and are tightening security. (darya) breaking overnight... a man shot and killed in the east bay and the shooter is still on the loose. it happened just after 8:30 last night in antioch. when police arrived on the 700 block of 'k' street they found a man who had been shot. he was taken to the hospital where he underwent surgery but died a short time later. police have not released any information about the gunman or what may have led up to the shooting.

(mark) in the east bay... a one-year-old girl is dead after drowning in a backyaerd pool in concord.(darya) kron four's will tran is live outside the concord police department with more on what will? ( will ) this happened yesterday, just before 5:00 in the evening. this was on the 21-hundred block of leland way. the girl's parents first reported her missing. family members and police searched the area for several minutes... they then found the child unconscious in a backyard swimming pool. officers performed c-p-r and the girl was taken to a hospital where she later died.

( darya ) we are learning new information about a 50- year-old napa man arrested and accused of sexually assaulting a teenage girl. timothy marble was arrested saturday near highway one on harbour way in bodega bay. police say marble called police earlier that day and told police that his passenger, a 13-year-old girl, jumped out of his moving car. police say the girl ran away from home on thursday, and ended up

at shell station where marble convinced her to get into his truck. the teenager says he used a syringe to inject her with meth and sexually assualted her multiple times. police say marble also used a knife to scratch his name into the girl's skin. neighbors spoke to kron four after learning about his arrest. ( darya ) marble has prior drug convictions. he is now in jail on suspicion of kidnapping, sexual assault on a minor and child abuse. ( mark ) one man is behind bars this morning after a shooting that injured five people at a house party in pittsburg. it happened saturday night near the corner of madoline street and lorraine avenue. police say a group of men walked into the birthday party and were later asked to leave. that is when a fight broke out between the guests and the people at the party. one of the men started shooting, injuring five people. neighbors say partygoers were able to hold down the shooter

until police arrived. police arrested a 23-year-old man from oakley. he is being charged with multiple felonies including assault with a deadly weapon. ( mark ) police in san francisco are investigating a shooting near a hotel in the mid-market area and the shooters are still on the loose.(ááátriggerááá) it happened yesterday afternoon at the boyd hotel on jones street. officers first responded to reports of gunshots. when they arrived, they found one person shot in the torso. the victim was taken to the hospital. the shooters left the scene before police arrived. (darya) san francisco police are looking for a man who stole 100-thousand dollars in jewelry from a store in chinatown. this happened back on february 24th at a jewelry store on waverly place but police are just now releasing the surveillance video. police say the thief broke through the front window of the store and stole thousands of dollars worth of jewelry. the man was then seen running south on waverly place and then east on sacramento street. today... republicans in congress could move one step closer to confirming judge neil gorsuch to the supreme court. today the senate judiciary committee will vote on gorsuch's nomination. over the weekend a third democratic senator has said he will support judge gorsuch. republicans say that gorsuch will be confirmed by the full senate by the end of the week. democrats are threatening a filibuster. right now a confirmation requires 60 votes in the senate but republicans only hold 52 seats. if they can not get enough democrats to support gorsuch they say they will change the rules so a confirmation only requires a simple majority. (darya) at least 250 people are dead after massive mudslides in columbia...near the boarder with ecuador. 43 children are among the dead. 400 other people are injured this morning.

nearly 150 people are still missing and officials say the death toll is expected to rise. this morning crews are digging through the rubble and the mud to try and find survivors. water from three overflowing rivers swept through the small city of mocoa. the massive amount of mud destroyed homes and killed many of the victims while they were sleeping the president of colombia blamed climate change for the mudslides. the region received almost 80-percent more rain than usual for the month of march.. (mark) we now know what caused a multi-car crash that injured 14 people and shut down part of highway 4 in antioch. this happened around 6:00 saturday night on the westbound lanes of highway four, between the 'a' street and hillcrest off-ramps. c-h-p says a toyota sedan, with 7 people inside stopped on the highway behind a bumper that was in the roadway. that's when a minivan with three people inside hit it, setting off a chain-reaction crash. four people were airlifted to the hospital. one of them, a 14-year old girl is still in critical

condition this morning. ( darya ) a south bay family is pleading for help to find the person who killed their teenage son. 19-year-old joseph viramontes was killed just over a week ago in san jose. he was found shot on the campus of toyon elementary school on march 25th. last night friends and family gathered for a dinner fundraiser at the keyes bar to help raise money for funeral expenses. kron four spoke with joseph's family... they say they are hoping someone will come forward with information. ( darya ) so far police have not named any suspects in the case... and the motive is not clear. (mark) still ahead on the

( darya ) police in the east bay are looking for the person who slashed the tires of more than 20 cars. concord police say it happened on three different streets some time overnight on saturday. we highlighted the targeted areas on this map... they are denkinger court, armand drive and dianda drive in concord. the police department also posted a picture on facebook of some of the damage. police are asking people who live in the neighborhood to check the footage on their home surveillance systems.

(mark) 16 people are without a home this morning following a fire at an apartment building in oakland. we first broke this story yesterday on kron four news weekend. it started just before 4:00 in the morning yesterday on 39th avenue between bayo and masterson streets in oakland. firefighters quickly knocked down the flames but not before four apartments were damaged. one man escaped by jumping out of second-story window. he was not hurt. another woman was taken to the hospital after complaining of chest pains. investigators are still trying to figure out how the fire started. (darya) more than a dozen people are rescued after they became stranded on a beach near davenport. these are photos from chp santa cruz showing the rescues. chp says 14 people were stranded yesterday afternoon at panther beach due to rising tides. cal fire crews began rigging a raising system to haul some of the victims to safety. a helicopter crew was also brought in to rescued the

remaining stranded victims. chp says there were no major injuries. ( darya ) a teenager is arrested in martinez after police found drugs, a gun and money during a traffic stop. take a look at what police took from his car. an 18-year-old was arrested early saturday morning near pacheco boulevard and wygal drive. police say that an intoxicated girl was in the car with him at the time. police found several dozen xanax pills and other medications not prescribed to him. police say he is on active felony probation for burglary. (mark) in northern california... divers find more body parts as they search for a missing woman in shasta county. police say they found a human leg attached to a cinder block and other body parts in whiskeytown lake. the body parts were found on friday and saturday as they searched for 38-year-old bridget jacobs. witnesses say they saw her ex-husband at the lake on march 19th... the day before she was reported

missing. 56-year-old philip jacobs was arrested last tuesday. he told police that his ex-wife's death was an accident... and that she died after charging at him and falling down some stairs. he also says he kept her body for four days before dumping it in the lake. jacobs is due in court later today. (darya) an uber driver is behind bars this morning for sexually assaulting a female passenger... and investigators say there might be more victims. the assault happened in santa ana on march 30th when the woman was being driven home from a work gathering the woman says her driver parked his toyota sienna mini-van along a street and attacked her inside the car. she managed to get out and run away to call police. officers arrested 37-year-old angel sanchez the next say at his home in costa mesa. police are now looking for additional victims. (mark) severe storms that killed two people in louisiana are taking aim at alabama and

other parts of the southeast today. this is video as a tree fell onto a home in baton rouge. the national weather service says tornadoes and strong winds are likely today from parts of mississippi extending to south carolina. the greatest tornado risk is centered over southern alabama. a tornado flipped a mobile home in louisiana yesterday killing a mother and her 3-year-old daughter. louisiana's governor put the entire state on "high alert" and warned residents to stay off the roads. power was knocked out to thousands of homes and businesses and downed trees were blocking roads. (darya) a major recall to tell you about... the maker of the life-saving epi-pen says they may not work. the recall has just expanded to the united states. the f-d-a says the pens have a defective part that could keep them from activating. they say there have been two reports of the device not working. the epi-pens being recalled were distributed between december of 20-15 and july 20-16.

mylan has not said how many devices are affected. the problems could be life- threatening as epi-pens are used to treat allergic reactions. ( mark ) lawyers for bill cosby will be back in court today to discuss his upcoming trial. lawyers and prosecutors are fighting over how to choose potential jurors. cosby's team wants the judge to allow detailed questionnaires to weed out any biased jurors. cosby is accused of assaulting former temple university employee andrea constand in 2004. she is one of dozens of women who have accused him of sexual assault. the trial is expected to begin in that case in june. cosby denies all allegations against him. (darya) take a look at this... police chase armed robbery suspects through southern california. it happened in orange county last night. a man driving the pickup truck and a female passenger eventually stopped and got out of the car and ran... just outside of the orange coast memorial center.

at one point the man ran towards the hospital... but police were eventually able to take him down. ( darya ) a woman is filling up gas in her car... when a man runs up and steals it. this happened over the weekend in massachusetts. you can see the man jumps into the front seat of her s-u- v as she is filling up. the woman fights back, spraying the man with gas and is later dragged a few feet as he takes off. police were able to find the stolen s-u-v shortly after the incident. no arrests have been made. (mark) a man leading a whale watch tour says the wale was heading north. he says it appears to be caught in a metal frame with lines attached around the

animal's head. (darya) a record number of whales have been getting tangled in crabbing gear off the west coast. there were 71 cases in california, oregon, and washington just last year. (mark) april the giraffe is still waiting to have her baby. she is at the animal adventure park in new york and people all over the world have been watching her live stream... waiting for her to give birth. (darya) veterinarians at the park said she showed signs of contractions over the weekend... but april is still not in labor. at last update... they say it shouldn't be much longer before she gives birth. ( mark ) breaking news out of russia this morning... ten people have died and 50 have been injured this morning in two subway explosions in saint petersburg. these are pictures and video showing the chaos inside one of the subway stations. and we have just learned that russian investigators have found and deactivated a bomb at another train station in saint petersburg. train stations in that city are now closed and people are being evacuated. russian officials says they are investigating this as an act of terrorism and are tightening security. (darya) a gunman is on the loose in the east bay after a man was shot in antioch.

it happened around 1:00 yesterday afternoon at cruisers saloon on 'a' street and east 16th... in the eastwood plaza shopping center. police say a 37-year-old man was shot and taken to the hospital where he is in stable condition this morning. police have not released any information on the gunman and they have not said what led up to the shooting. (darya) one man is dead after a police chase led to a crash in the north bay. (ááátriggerááá) it happened last night in petaluma near frates road and south ely boulevard. officers responded to reports of two motorcyclists speeding. when the two saw police...they sped off on their motorcycles. one of them lost control of his bike and crashed. he later died from his injuries. the second motorcyclist was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. ( mark ) a family in the east bay is asking for a hit-and-run driver who killed their loved one to turn themselves in. a vigil was held yesterday for 50-year-old larry mendes. he was on his way to visit his family

when he stopped to help a friend who was having an electrical problem with an r-v. this happened on thursday on 85th avenue in oakland. mendes was kneeling next to the r-v when the driver hit him and drove away ( mark ) a 10- thousand dollar reward is being offered to anyone with information leading to an arrest. (darya) covering california. three people including two children are shot at a birthday party in sacramento. the gunman is still on the loose. the shooting happened yesterday at a city park. police say an 11-year-old boy, a 6-year old girl and a woman were shot. they are all expected to be okay. police say before the shooting there were several fights between people at the party. so far nobody has ben arrested.

( darya ) a man is safe this morning after nearly drowning in bodega bay. this video was taken after the man was pulled out of the water at duncan's cove last night. authorities say they received a call of a person that was unresponsive. by the time they got there, the man was out of the water and alert. they checked him out but he decided not to go to the hospital. there is a high surf advisory in effect until later this morning. ( mark ) a white tulsa, oklahoma officer charged in the shooting death of an unarmed black man said race was not a factor in her decision to open fire. she said the man caused his death when he ignored her commands. officer betty shelby made her comments last night during an interview on 60 minutes. shelby is scheduled to stand trial next month in the fatal shooting of terence crutcher. during the interview, shelby said crutcher kept putting his hands in his pockets. she says he didn't stop moving when she ordered him to and he appeared to be sizing her up before reaching into the vehicle. she said feared

for her life. no weapon was found in crutcher's vehicle. shelby has pleaded not guilty. if convicted of first-degree manslaughter, she faces a sentence of four years to life in prison. ( darya ) chicago police have arrested a 14-year-old boy in a group sexual assault on a teenage girl that was broadcast on facebook live. this is video of chicago police announcing the teen's charges yesterday. they include aggravated criminal sexual assault and manufacturing child pornography. at least 40 people were watching the live stream but none of them reported it. police say they too could be charged with not reporting a crime. police say the victim was also bullied online after the attack.

causing a lot more trauma to the victim than what she already suffered from just the facts of the case that took place.">( darya ) the teen is the first of several juvenile offenders from the assault to be charged. police say they are looking for as many as six people who were shown in the video of the assault. ( darya ) now to bay area baseball... the san francisco giants opening their 20-17 season in arizona against the diamondbacks. the story of this game early on was madison bumgarner who was perfect through 5 innings. but he also had a big day at the plate, he became the first pitcher ever to hit two home runs on opening day. but the giants bullpen could not hold the lead. the team's new closer mark malancen blows the save in the ninth inning. arizona wins, 6 to 5. the giants are off today and will play again tomorrow at 6:40. johnny cueto will get his first start of the season.

(darya) the super bowl trophy's run-in with a deer was nearly as improbable as the new england patriots' come- from-behind win over the atlanta falcons. but it happened friday night in maine when a patriots employee who had the vince lombardi trophy in his vehicle struck a deer in fairfield. team spokesman stacey james on saturday confirmed the accident. james said the employee was unhurt and the trophy was unscathed. the trophy was on display saturday at the cross insurance center in bangor, maine, as scheduled. it has been traveling around the region to give fans a chance to see it. state trooper tyler maloon gave the team employee a ride

( darya ) we are learning new information about a 50- year-old napa man arrested and accused of kidnapping and sexually assaulting a teenage girl. timothy marble was arrested saturday near highway one on harbour way in bodega bay. police say marble called police earlier that day and told police that his passenger, a 13-year-old girl, jumped out of his moving car. police say the girl ran away from home on thursday, and ended up at shell station where marble convinced her to get into his truck. the teenager says he used a syringe to inject her with meth and sexually assualted her multiple times. police say marble also used a knife to scratch his name into the girl's skin. neighbors

( mark ) one man is behind bars this morning after a shooting that injured five people at a house party in pittsburg. it happened saturday night near the corner of madoline street and lorraine avenue. police say a group of men walked into the birthday party and were later asked to leave. that is when a fight broke out between the guests and the people at the party. one of the men started shooting, injuring five people. neighbors say partygoers were able to hold down the shooter until police arrived. police arrested a 23-year-old man from oakley. he is being charged with multiple felonies including assault with a deadly weapon. ( darya ) san francisco police are looking for a man who stole about 100-thousand dollars in jewelry from a store in chinatown. this happened back on february 24th at a jewelry store on waverly place but police are just now releasing the surveillance video. police say the thief broke through the front window of the store and stole thousands of dollars worth of jewelry. the man was then seen running south on waverly place and then east on sacramento street. employees at a "quality inn" called 9-1-1 when they saw a group of children laying lifeless on a pool deck. first responders rushed the children to the hospital where one child died. two hotel workers were also hospitalized along with three police officers who responded to the incident. a hotel worker who was the first to see the children describes what she saw ( darya ) police say carbon monoxide levels in the building were 16-times above the safe limit. ( mark ) police in the east bay are looking for the person who slashed the tires of more than 20 cars. concord police say it happened on three different streets some time overnight on saturday. we highlighted the targeted areas on this map... they are

(mark) 16 people are without a home this morning following a fire at an apartment building in oakland. we first broke this story yesterday on kron four news weekend. it started just before 4:00 in the morning yesterday on 39th avenue between bayo and masterson streets in oakland. firefighters quickly knocked down the flames but not before four apartments were damaged. one man escaped by jumping out of second-story window. he was not hurt. another woman was taken to the hospital after complaining of chest pains. investigators are still trying to figure out how the fire started. ( darya ) in northern california... divers find more body parts as they search for a missing woman in shasta county. police say they found a human leg attached to a cinder block and other body parts in whiskeytown lake. the body parts were found on friday and saturday as they searched for 38-year-old bridget jacobs. witnesses say they saw her ex-husband at the lake on march 19th... the day before she was reported missing. 56-year-old philip jacobs was arrested last tuesday. he told police that his ex-wife's death was an accident... and that she died after charging at him and falling down some stairs. he also says he

are rescued after they became stranded on a beach near davenport. chp says 14 people were stranded yesterday afternoon at panther beach due to rising tides. these are photos from chp santa cruz showing the rescues. cal fire crews began rigging a raising system to haul some of the victims to safety. a helicopter crew was also brought in to rescued the remaining stranded victims. chp says there were no major injuries. multi-car crash that injured 14 people and shut down part of highway 4 in antioch. this happened around 6:00 saturday night on the westbound lanes of highway four, between the 'a' street and hillcrest off-ramps. c-h-p says a toyota sedan, with 7 people inside stopped on the highway behind a bumper that was in the roadway. that's when a minivan with three people inside hit it, setting off a chain-reaction crash. four people were airlifted to the hospital. one of them, a 14-year old girl is still in critical condition this morning. ( darya ) a south bay family is pleading for help to find the person who killed their teenage son. 19-year-old joseph viramontes was killed just over a week ago in san jose. he was found shot on the campus of toyon elementary school on march 25th. last night friends and family gathered for a dinner fundraiser at the keyes bar to help raise money

( mark ) one man is dead after a police chase led to a crash in the north bay. (ááátriggerááá) it happened last night in petaluma near frates road and south ely boulevard.

officers responded to reports of two motorcyclists speeding. when the two saw police...they sped off on their motorcycles. one of them lost control of his bike and crashed. he later died from his injuries. the second motorcyclist was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. ( darya ) covering california. three people including two children are shot at a birthday party in sacramento. the gunman is still on the loose. the shooting happened yesterday at a city park. police say an 11-year-old boy, a 6-year old

( mark ) a white tulsa, oklahoma officer charged in the shooting death of an unarmed black man said race was not a factor in her decision to open fire. she said the man caused his death when he ignored her commands. officer betty shelby made her comments last night during an interview on 60 minutes. shelby is scheduled to stand trial next month in the fatal shooting of terence crutcher. during the interview, shelby said crutcher kept putting his hands in his pockets. she says he didn't stop moving when she ordered him to and he appeared to be sizing her up before reaching into the vehicle. she said feared for her life. no weapon was found in crutcher's vehicle. shelby has pleaded not guilty. if convicted of first-degree manslaughter, she faces a sentence of four years to life in prison. people are dead and 39 are injured after an explosion at a subway station in saint petersburg. this is new video showing the aftermath of the explosion. and we have just learned that russian investigators have found and deactivated a bomb at another train station in saint petersburg. train stations in that city are now closed and people are being evacuated. russian officials says they are investigating this as an act of terrorism and are tightening security. (darya) in the east bay... a one-year-old girl is dead after drowning in concord. kron four's will tran is live outside the concord police department with more on what happened. will? ( mark ) breaking overnight... a man shot and killed in the east bay and the shooter is still on the loose. it happened just after 8:30 last night in antioch. when police arrived on the 700 block of 'k' street they found a man who had been shot. he was taken to the hospital where he underwent surgery but died a short time later. police have not released any information about the gunman or what may have led up to the shooting. ( darya ) we are learning new information about a 50- year-old napa man arrested and accused of kidnapping and sexually assaulting a teenage girl. timothy marble was arrested saturday near highway one on harbour way in bodega bay. police say marble

called police earlier that day and told police that his passenger, a 13-year-old girl, jumped out of his moving car. police say the girl ran away from home on thursday, and ended up at shell station where marble convinced her to get into his truck. the teenager says he used a syringe to inject her with meth and sexually assualted her multiple times. police say marble also used a knife to scratch his name into the girl's skin. neighbors spoke to kron four after learning about his arrest. ( darya ) marble has prior drug convictions. he is now in jail on suspicion of kidnapping, sexual assault on a minor and ( mark ) one man is behind bars this morning after a shooting that injured five people at a house party in pittsburg. it happened saturday night near the corner of madoline street and lorraine avenue. police say a group of men walked into the birthday party and were later asked to leave. that

( mark ) police in san francisco are investigating a shooting near a hotel in the mid-market area and the shooters are still on the loose. it happened yesterday afternoon at the boyd hotel on jones street. (ááátriggerááá) officers first responded to reports of gunshots. when they arrived, they found one person shot in the torso. the victim was taken to the hospital. the shooters left the scene before police arrived. ( darya ) 16 people are without a home this morning following a fire at an apartment building in oakland. we first broke this story yesterday on kron four news weekend. it started just before 4:00 in the morning yesterday on 39th avenue between bayo and masterson streets in oakland. firefighters quickly knocked down the flames but not before four apartments were damaged. one man escaped by jumping out of second-story window.

(ááátriggerááá) it happened last night in petaluma near frates road and south ely boulevard. officers responded to reports of two motorcyclists speeding. when the two saw police...they sped off on their motorcycles. one of them lost control of his bike and crashed. he later died from his injuries. the second motorcyclist was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. ( darya ) a south bay family is pleading for help to find the person who killed their teenage son. 19-year-old joseph viramontes was killed just over a week ago in san jose. he was found shot on the campus of toyon elementary school on march 25th. last night friends and family gathered for a dinner fundraiser at the keyes bar to help raise money for funeral expenses. kron four spoke with joseph's family... they say they are hoping someone will come forward with information.

mudslides in columbia...near the boarder with ecuador. 43 children are among the dead. 400 other people are injured this morning. nearly 150 people are still missing and officials say the death toll is expected to rise. this morning crews are digging through the rubble and the mud to try and find survivors. water from three overflowing rivers swept through the small city of mocoa. the massive amount of mud destroyed homes and killed many of the victims while they were sleeping the president of colombia blamed climate change for the mudslides. the region received almost 80-percent more rain than usual for the month of march.. ( darya ) in northern california... divers find more body parts as they search for a missing woman in shasta county. police say they found a human leg attached to a cinder block and other body parts in whiskeytown lake. the body parts were found on friday and saturday as they searched for 38-year-old bridget jacobs. witnesses say they saw her ex-husband at the lake on march 19th... the

day before she was reported missing. 56-year-old philip jacobs was arrested last tuesday. he told police that his ex-wife's death was an accident... and that she died after charging at him and falling down some stairs. he also says he kept her body for four days before dumping it in the lake. jacobs is due in court later today. ( mark ) a white tulsa, oklahoma officer charged in the shooting death of an unarmed black man said race was not a factor in her decision to open fire. she said the man caused his death when he ignored her commands. officer betty shelby made her comments last night during an interview on 60 minutes. shelby is scheduled to stand trial next month in the fatal shooting of terence crutcher. during the interview, shelby said crutcher kept putting his hands in his pockets. she says he didn't stop moving when she ordered him to and he appeared to be sizing her up
