some breaking news- just into the kron four news room... police have located a dismembered body at a home in san bruno. officers were called to a home on pacific heights boulevard around 11 this morning... for a report of a missing person. that's when they found....a human body that had been dismembered. the remains located at the scene have not been confirmed to match those of the missing person. but the san bruno police department is investigating this incident as a homicide. 54-year old san bruno david stubblefield has been placed under arrest in connection to this incident. (vickii) the hillsborough woman accused of murdering the father of her children was released from jail this afternoon.....after her family came up with nearly 70 million dollars so she could be released on bail. li walked out of the san mateo county jail and into a black escalade surrounded by reporters.(vicki) tiffany
li's bail amount is the highest in that county's history and the 8th highest in the nation.(grant) kron4's maureen kelly was in the courtroom alongside the murder victim's family and friends, who expressed their outrage after today's hearing. (maureen)nothing seems right about it at all.a family friend of 27 year old murder victim keith green expessed dismay that tiffany li was able to walk out of jail...especially since her two alleged co-conspirators weren't not allowed that option.li, her boyfriend, kaveh bayat and olivier adella are accused of conspiring to kill green.prosecutors say li was afraid of losing a custody battle with the victm...who is the father of her two young children.right now we're sort of dealing with david and goliath situation in there with all those millions of money and power and then we have this lovely young man keith, 27 years old brutally murdered, shot and saw it coming close range so it's a terrible storyli left the jail escorted by her family's attorney...getting into a cadallic escalade saying nothing to the swarm of media. the d-a wanted her bail set at 100 million.... but a judge knocked it down to 35 million.
but the value is really 66 million....her family... wealthy real estate developers...raised 4 million cash....making up the difference by pledging property..which by law has to be worth twice as much as cash. li's attorney says many people are risking their homes to make this happen.the family couldn't do it and it took a broader community of friends and extended family members and and business associates who were willing to risk their property.between 15 and 20 individuals and business entities put up real property to that amount approximately 66 million. that means a lot that means they think she's gonna return to court i think and they may believe she's not guilty.li will be under house arrest as she awaits her trial..which is set to get underway in september.she was already wearing a gps ankle monitor when she walked out of jail....she also turned over her passport....and the passports of her two children. maureen kelly kron4 news
(grant) two-million- dollars. that's the bail amount set for lawyer mcbride...the man suspected of shooting and killing his ex girlfriend, right in front of her two young children. 29-year-old rashanda franklin was killed tuesday in richmond as she drove her kids to school. after a man-hunt, mcbride was taken into custody yesterday in sacramento. the 43-year-old suspect...surre ndered peacefully...and told police they have the wrong guy. police say this is not the first time mcbride has been in trouble with the law. back in 19-92 he was arrested for attempted murder -- for shooting a 16-year-old near pinole valley high school. (vicki) a san francisco instructor at a popular swim school - has been arrested in connection to child pornography charges. police say 28-year old nicholas hodges had hundreds of pictures of children on his computer.. he is also being charged with using a minor for sex acts.. hodges was arrested at la petite baleen swim school and has previously worked for the
disney store.. his bail has been set at 335-thousand dollars. (vicki) happening now: the search continues for the father who police say took off with his four- month old baby girl. the baby has been found safe and is now back with her mother. but police are searching for this man - michael wallin. police say he was visiting his daughter madilyn and her mother - at a motel in mountain view tuesday night. officers say after an argument - wallin snatched the child from her mother and drove off. the child's step- brother says wallin drove across the bay area and arranged for the baby's grandmother to turn his daughter over to the family at a walmart parking lot in livermore. wallin faces felony child endangerment charges and possibly kidnapping charges. (grant) another big story we are tracking tonight... after 19 years the family of a murdered 13-year-old may finally see justice done. today, monterey county's district attorney announced they will filed murder changes against a convicted felon for the 19-98 murder of christina
williams. kron 4's dan kerman joins us live from the monterey county government center in salinas with more (dan kerman)on june 12 of 1998, 13 year old christina williams took her dog out for a walk in her fort ord neighborhood, and disappeared. 7 months later her body was discovered in a remote area of the former military base for the next 19 years investigators worked to bring her killer to justice. thursday, monterey county's d.a. announced he will be cahrging charles holified with williams murdersot jeannine
pacioni/asst. district attorney 25-34we will be charging mr. holifield with first degree murer with special allegations of kidnapping and lewd acts on a child. holifield is currently serving 25 year to life at valley state prison in chowchilla for attempted kidnapping and failing to register as a sex offender. sothe's been a suspect since the beginning but there were problems with building sufficient evidence at that time in order to prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt. as the victim's mother's cousin looked on, the district attorney announced that all changed when a cold case team revisited the case in 2016 and had the physical evidence retested for dna. the d.a. says this time they got a hit which is why they can now charge holifield with her murder sot dean flippo/monterey county d.a. 119-129it will never bring back christine williams but the very least we can do is work hard to present the evidence to a jury and a jury will make that decision and that's what we will be aiming for 135/aiming for
(vicki) we are learning new details tonight - about the missing yuba city college student. police say the mother of alycia yeoman received text messages... saying her daughter is alive, had been kidnapped and there were demands. police say the messages came from an online source with multiple i- p address, making the sender harder to trace. yeoman was last seen a week ago leaving romero street in yuba city. this new surveillance video captures her truck driving through the area...though you can not make out the driver. investigators found her unoccupied truck monday parked in an orchard at the bottom of the levee. the fbi is now
involved with the investigation... (grant) police in palo alto are asking for help identifiying a man.... who they believe is involved in two prowling incidents over the weekend. we have a sketch of the man police are looking for...a clean-shaven white man, between 40-50 years-old. both of the incidents happened on sunday night in palo alto's college terrace neighborhood. the first one happened just before 8:30 sunday night... a woman was unloading her car in front of her home on yale street. a man appraoched and started to make small talk... and then walked away. about 20 minutes later, the woman says the same man was trying to open her front door... the second incident happened a few hours later on college avenue. a woman found a man standing in her bushes trying to look through her windows. (grant) we now know the name of the man who was shot and killed by napa police during a shootout. 65-year-old stephen ferry died tuesday. officers say they were called to bueno street because ferry attacked a woman and was shooting at his
neighbords. when police arrived they say ferry began shooting at them from a car- that's when officers returned fire. ferry then crashed into a tree and was pronouned dead at the scene. the officers involved in the shooting...have been placed on leave. (vicki) a lot of people are watching the california legislature - waiting for the results of a vote on an expensive new gas tax...(grant) catherine heenan is here with an update on the vote. (catherine) a lot of people are worked up about it because it's a 'big' gas tax...it would raise the price of gas by 12 cents a gallon.... even more on diesel. the measure would 'also' mean a price hike on registration fees. this has been steadily pushed by governor brown - who argues that state roads are in terrible shape after the storm season --- and putting it off will only meaneven pricier repairs in the future. democratic legislators
say the bill could bring in an extra 5-billion dollars a year...and thetax increase 'must' happen. republicans have argued the state already has enough money -- but it's beenbadly managed. kron four talked to some drivers this morning in fremont.....who had mixed reactions. various drivers:i feel pretty upset because i'm driving from stockton and hope i don't have to pay any more. i have no problems with that.there's got to be another way - there's got to be another way. we're already paying the highest prices in the nation. it's ridiculous. i believe they could be more fiscally responsible abouthow the existing taxes are being used. votes were planned on the bill today - before lawmakers adjourn for theirweeklong spring break. vicki? (vicki) a missing u-p-s driver whose truck was found down an embankment - has been safely located. the crash happened just after five yesterday evening in lafayette... on hunsaker canyon road. when officers arrived they found the truck but were unable to locate the driver. police say the truck hit a tree and they believe the driver was thrown from the truck. a short time later he was located safely in concord. he has been idenitifed as dennis salazar right now it is still unclear how salazar got to concord or if he was injured in the crash. (grant) in the north bay... a dog who was presumed dead after a deadly boating accident in tomales bay... was found alive.... this is yoda... he was stranded for three days.... two
battalion chiefs were scouting locations for a firefighters' water rescue orientation late this morning... when they found the yellow lab... lying down near a rock on dillon beach. yoda was wet and shivering, but wasn't injured. he was brought to the tomales fire station to warm up by a fireplace and eat some food. yoda had been on board a 13-foot fishing boat that capsized in tomales bay around noon monday. you're looking at video from our helicopter partnership wth abc 7 news of the scene... one man on board... brian ho of san jose...died. his fishing partner and another dog survived. but yoda had been missing and it was presumed he drowned. the marin humane society checked him out before releasing him to a family member. schaaf is asking for your donations. in helping the families and individuals affected by the deadly san pablo avenue apartment fire. in a statement today, the mayor thanked the many businesses, nonprofits, community organizations and city staff for helping the recovery effort. she also asked for the public to help raise funds for the victims. as of tonight, the fund at youcaring.com has raised nearly $30 grand. a temporary shelter for victims closed yesterday. so city officials are currently working to re-house the remaining displaced residents tonight. u-s postal service is spreading the word about the dangers as part of national dog bite repvention week, which begins sunday. postal workers reported over 67-hundred dog attacks last year. that's the highest in three decades. amazon, other internet retailers, and online grocery shopping is becoming more popular...puttin g postal workers in risky situations with their customer's pets more often. now covering california. a selfie-taker is lucky to be alive...after she fell 60 feet off a placer county bridge. it happened tuesday afternoon. police say the young woman and her friends were standing on the large steel beams underneath the foresthill bridge. a closed part of the popular landmark. and as the young lady was about to snap a selfie...she fell. landing on the trail about 60 feet below. she was then air-lifted by a helicopter to the hospital. she suffered a deep gash to her arm and fractured some bones . but will make a full recovery.
(grant) an 11-year old boy is fighting for his life after being shot while protecting his little sister from gunfire at a birthday party in sacramento.. the little boy's mother says the family was at a toddler's birthday party when out of nowhere...someone started shooting. she says her son ran towards the bullets to save his baby sister.. he was shot three times and is now on a breathing machine at the u-c- davis medical center two others were shot at the party ..a 6-year old girls and an adult.. all three victims are expected to recover.. police say they are still looking for the shooters. (grant) we are awaiting a critical vote that would raise california gas taxes and vehicle fees. pam moore is in the newsroom with what we are working on for kron 4 news at six. (pam) grant .... we are keeping a close eye on the california state house tonight... right now, democratic legislative leaders are hoping to pass the governor's massive 52 - billion dollar road repair bill. if approved... it will increase the gas tax by 12 -cents a gallon. it will also raise the taxes on diesel fuel... and vehicle fees. while democrats have the majority.... there are some holdouts... and two- thirds of the vote is needed to pass the tax increase. we are going to keep a close eye on what is happening in sacramento... and will have the latest on kron 4 news at 6. grant now back to you. bay area's best and most interesting teachers.. this month's 'teacher of the week' -- fer kretschmer - a social studies teacher in daly city...(grant) as catherine heenan found out -- she has a gift for making her 8th grade students really sit up and take notice when it comes to history.. (catherine) she's passionate about history - she loves her students. and while fer kretschmer is very serious about what she teaches - she's also smart enoughto know that if you make something truly memorable -- kids find it easier to learn. it's time for 8th grade social studies and there are cheers at the sight of the teacher dressed like a suffragette...w aving around a sign that says 'votes for women'..we're at thomas r. pollicita middle school.....home to 670 students. they can take p.e. classes with a view of the hills of daly city...or sign up for the school's much loved dance programteacher in
class'alright - how are we doing over here?'but when it comes to self-expression and style....there's no one quite like miss kretschmer.who likes to liven things up by occasionally dressing as a historical figure.she's been john hancock...a pioneer woman...a fur trapperthen there's the 'mountain man' student'oh when she wore a fur. and a beard. it was funny. that was my favorite.' student 'she dressed up and she had a beard on...and with some boots on and stuff like that. and she was like doing this accent. it was so - she had me dying during class.'she even pops up as her own evil twin 'wanda' -- who's actually there to help students figure out test answers..ben turner - principal'it was shocking. i didn't recognize her. i think i probably asked her, i said 'who are you? and i needed her i-d. then i realized it was her' laughsthis all began with a random visit to a thrift store.teacher fer kretschmer'i was in the goodwill 15 or 20 years ago and found a leather jacket that had a fur trim on
it and i thought - 'i could be a fur trapper!'today's lesson.....women fighting for the right to vote. .(some of the lyrics)they're analyzing an old protest song...and being reminded that history means real people with real problems. teacher'and many of them never saw a woman vote because they died before it happened.''i just always have loved it and thought that the way to tell it is it's a story of ordinary people who did extraordinary things.'if a little role-playing can help bring history to life...........fer kretschmer is on board. with many saying she's pretty extraordinary herself.. don rickles has died at the age of 90. the legendary comedian died thursday morning at his home in los angeles from kidney failure, according to his publicist. stephanie elam has a look back at his successful career. comedian don rickles was known for his unique brand of "insult comedy." his humor was cutting but never mean spirited."what i do is exaggerate life and make fun i don't have to apologize for it."born donald jay rickles in queens, new york on may 8, 1926, he got his start as a comedian on the club circuit. rickles was discovered by none other than frank sinatra at "murray franklin's nightclub"
during the 1950's. he told cnn's larry king in 2004 how his friendship with the late american icon began."he sat down right in the front and one of the famous lines is stand up frank be yourself hit somebody and the whole audience laughed and the guys with him said what do you think huh huh huh." rickles tested his acting chops in the 1958 movie "run silent run deep" opposite clark gable. he also made appearances in the popular "beach blanket" film series with annette funicello and frankie avalon."i couldn't have done it better myself if i could have done it."rickles caught johnny carson's attention and in 1965 began making regular appearances on "the tonight show." carson dubbed him "mr. warmth.""i started with him when the show was 90 minutes. i had great fun with him and i was free form and johnny would set me up to look like a real champ that was one of the exciting points of my life."in 1985, he performed at ronald reagan's second inaugural ball. he would later call the show the highlight of his career. in 1995, rickles played robert deniro's trusted floor boss in
martin scorsese's "casino." mr. warmth then became the voice of "mr. potato head" in disney pixar's "toy story" franchise. he even had the chance to incorporate one of his famous calling cards."what are you looking at you hockey puck?"the funnyman was honored with a star on the hollywood walk of fame in 2000. he then became a new york times best selling author in 2007 with his memoir "rickles' book." the following year, his documentary "mr. warmth: the don rickles project, earned him two emmy awards."it's like an accomplishment after some 55 years in the business from starting out in tough joints, in saloons, and striptease well they called it striptease back then and to finally get to this (pick up) makes me very proud." ( grant ) one place we are watching with this latest storm is pacifica. the cliffside just keeps crumbling away... we saw more evidence of that today. this is a beach that has been closed off for months because of erosion and a sinkhole that opened up... collapsing the walkway people use to get to it. you can see the repairs are
going on... pipes have been fixed... but from this vantage put courtesy of our helicopter partners at a-b-c 7, it could be a bit before the beach opens again. ( grant ) the anderson reservoir, which overflowed in february and caused parts of san jose to flood, is steadily dropping. the latest check with the santa clara valley water district has it at just under 76-percent of capacity. that's well below where it was when in february when it overflowed into coyote creek. but, the water district would like to get it down to 68-percent of capacity for a seismic retrofit. we will be keeping a close eye on the water level with this storm expected to bring heavy rain to the bay area. afternoon monterey county's da announced dna evidence has solved the 1998 murder of 13 year old christina williams, who disappeared while walking her dog, and who's body was discovered 7 months later in a wooded area of fort ord.sot dean flippo/monterey county d.a 21-31law enforcement doesn't quit and because of that digging and woring together and reexamining, we are now pleased to announce charles holifield will be charged with murder and other chargesas the victim's mother's cousin looked on, the d.a. announced in addition to first degree murder, holifield will also be charged kidnapping for purposes of sexual assault. he is currently serving 25 year to life at valley state prison in chowchilla for attempted kidnapping and failing to register as a sex offender. sot jeannine pacioni/asst. district attorney (no super) he's been a suspect almost from the beginningthe investigators always had their eye on holifield, the da's office says until recently

deputies say someone found a decomposing body in this house in alta sierra monday.. that's about an hour and a half north-east of sacramento... investigators believe the human remains have been sitting there for months. they haven't been identified yet because of their condition. deputies are waiting for an autopsy report that's expected later this week. there are no suspects at this point. (pam) the four-month-old baby from mountain view who was kidnapped by her father has been found unharmed. but there is still no trace of the dad... that's according to police tonight. madilyn wallin was found wednesday with her grandmother, about 35-miles from where she was taken the previous night. her father... michael lenard wallin... is still at large. police say, the mother had an argument with the father at a hotel in mountain view. that's when he drove off with the baby. at this point, how police traced the girl to her grandmother is not clear. (pam) bail has been set at
2-million- dollars for lawyer mcbride... he is the man accused of fatally shooting rasahnda franklin of richmond... in front of her two young children. mcbride surrendered peacefully to police for arrest yesterday in sacramento. the 43-year-old mcbride has been charged with murder... police say, he shot and killed his estranged girlfriend tuesday in richmond. her two children were in the car with her when it happened. police say, in the past they had been called in for domestic violence situations... involving the couple. (grant on cam) tonight we are hearing the other side of the west oakland apartment fire story. the owner of the building has hired a law firm in anticipation of any legal action connected to the deaths of four people who lost their lives....and dozens of others who lost their homes. (pam on cam) earlier today, a spokesman for the owner of the building .... told kron4's haaziq madyun... the owner of the building is not responsible for the upkeep nor the deadly fire. sotsam singer/keith kim's
spokesperson: "what is really important for the public to know is that the kim family wanted to remove urojas from managing this building. they didn't want to evict the tenant"that is an important clarification says sam singer who represents keith kim, the owner of the west oakland building that went up in flames last month killing 4 people. singer says it was conditions like these that motivated the kim family to terminate the agreement with reverend lowery and the urojas organizationsotsam singer/keith kim's spokesperson: "urojas community services which really was the landlord, they were the master tenant for this facility, the reality is they needed to be replaced. the kim family was trying to replace them, along with the city and county. they reneged on that deal prior to the fire and they really need to step up and help some of these poor people who have been put out by this tragedy"however the attorney for urojas told me by phone that he is representing the organization in what he says is an unlawful eviction that included the residents being kicked out as well. it is an argument that seems destinedto be settled in court. singer says the

sheriff's deputies tuesday afternoon in napa has been identified as stephen ferry. neighbors of the 65-year-old called police tuesday when he was apparently firing his gun toward them...into houses. officers arrived to find the man in his car. they say he fired shots at them and took off...crashing into a tree. officers returned fire and ferry was pronounced dead at the scene. no body else was injured...but one officer was treated for a minor cut. (pam) an update to a bizarre story we first told you about yesterday... fresno county sheriffs say, they may have identified the mystery woman who claimed to be a mermaid... a driver reportedly found her walking along the road yesterday.. soaking wet around 3 in the morning.. when she was taken to the hospital and questioned by police...she told officers her name was "joanna" but she did not know how she ended up in the area. investigators described her as somewhere between 17 and 20 years old and has webbed
toes. her identity is not being released yet but police believe they know her name and where she lives based off of a tip they received. (grant) it is perhaps one of most visible signs of the tech boom in the bay area. the salesforce tower has been rising in the south of market neighborhood and you can't miss it looking at san francisco's skyline... and today it had its milestone moment. (philippe) it is so quiet up top the new salesforce tower in san francisco... you can barely hear the city below. the views are like none other... and, the building can be seen from all over the bay.jane kim/supervisor- "its almost hard to believe. there's almost no point in san francisco that you can be in today without seeing this tower." it's located at

(catherine) this is the last thing anybody wants to hear.......hackers filing fake tax returns - using 'your' name and information. it already happens - and now there's a specific new problem. i-r-s information on up to 100- thousand taxpayers has been exposed.... that includes things like social security numbers - and can lead to all kinds of nightmare scenarios. in this case - the hack involved a college financial aid tool which helped users findinformation on student aid. thieves have already filed 8-thousand fake returns. the i-r-s commissioner told the senate finance committee that he warned the department of education about the problem. fortunately we caught this at the front end. we think that at this time, we estimate fewer than 8,000 fraudulent returns were actually filed, processed and refunds issued so again we're at the front end of the problem but we've been monitoring it. we have other areas we're monitoring. we're trying to anticipate where will the criminals

( pam ) a disturbing case to tell you about on the peninsula. just a short time ago... we learned a dismemembered body has been found inside a san bruno home. the house is on pacific heights boulevard... just off sharp park road... near skyline college.( grant ) kron 4's ella sogomonian just got to the scene a short time ago... ella- what have you learned about the case? we know that san bruno police first reported to this scene here off pacific heights and colby just before 11 this morning for a missing persons report filed.it was then they found a dismembered body. at this time they have not confirmed whether they believe the missing person is the body found.investigators are combing two scenes at this time both on the same block. a suspect is being questioned who lives here at 3781 pacific heights. his name is david stubblefield. he is 50 years old. neighbors i spoke with don't know him but have neer
