morning.( james ) now we want to continue our team coverage this morning with robin winston who is in the traffic center with a look at the parade route. robin. ( robin @ tele ) the starts at 10:00 a-m. this is the map of the parade route ad the key streets thatll be blocked off to traffic. ac transit re- routes and detours are already in place. the parade start on broadway and 11th street. heads straight down broadway and then it will turn on grand avenue. then it will turn right on harrison street and traveling to 19th street. then it will turn right on lakeside drive ending on oak and continuing to the convention center for the rally. that is the area circled in pink. and in preparation for the parade several roads are closed this morning. and some major ramp on 880 in downtown oakland, like oak st, broadway &

( mark ) four people are dead including the gunman after an employee opened fire at a u-p-s center in san francisco. this morning we are learning more about the victims and the gunamn in the shooting. the shooting happened at around nine a-m near 17th and utah street. a u-p-s spokesman says an employee fired inside the building before the drivers were sent out to do their daily deliveries. the gunman, jimmy lam, shot and killed three people and injured two others. the gunman later turned the gun on himself once police arrived. union officials say he had recently filed a grievance with the company. one u-p-s employee who witnessed

the deadly shooting said he had to run for his life. ( mark ) as for the victims.... 46-year-old michael lefiti (la-feet-e) of hercules, pictured here, was killed in the shooting. as well as 56-year-old wayne chan and 50-year-old benson louie. both lived in san francisco. (james) congressman steve scalise remains in critical condition this morning after a shooting in alexandria, virginia. and this morning we are getting our first look at the moments the shots were

(james) we first broke this story to you yesterday in the kron four morning news. it happened yesterday just before five a-m during an early morning practice for a republicans' charity baseball game. two capitol police officers, a congressional aide and a lobbyist were also injured in the shooting. they are expected to be okay. the gunman was shot and killed by police. he is identified as 66-year-old james t hodgkinson. he is a former volunteer for senator bernie sanders' presidential campaign. his social media is filled with anti-trump sentiment. senator sanders spoke out against the actions yesterday saying he is quote, "sickened by this despicable act." one g-o-p representative says he was approached in the parking lot before the

the finals with a kick to the face. and it's on to game two. for the second part of the series, the warriors said hello to an old friend, steve kerr. he turned to the bench after missing time for complications from back surgery. the team made him feel right at home. klay thompson broke out of a play-off shooting slump. k-d, did k-d type things and curry put lebron through the spin cycle.

2015 and were blown out last season by 30 points. so they knew the cavs were going to come out swinging. behind lebron and flash to kyrie irving, the cavs put themselves back in the series. led by 6 with three minutes to go in the fourth, then the warriors went on an 11-0 run. just when the cavs thought they had the chance, durant turned the lights out. a tagger from k-d to ruin any hope for a cleveland win and put the warriors one victory away from completing the title sweep. the warriors entered game four, a historic 15-0 and on the verge of clinching the series on the road. but the reigning finals m-v-p would

not allow any brooms in his house. episode four of this series. tense as k-d and lebron went face to face. zaza pachulia nearly sparked a bench clearing brawl and draymond green almost ejected in the third quarter. cleveland swung those emotions in their favor. dropping nearly fifty points in the first quarter and hitting a finals record of twenty-four 3-pointers. the cavs deny the warriors sweep and ruin the perfect play-off record, so a title celebration will have to wait a few more days. the series moved back to oakland with a familiar story line unfolding. the cavs down 3-1 and looking to mount a legendary come-back. golden state not about to make the same mistake twice. the warriors came out looking like a team

ready to hold a trophy yet cleveland wouldn't die that easily. the cavs were within three in the fourth quarter, but the m-v-p's wouldn't let the game get any closer. once again, durant stayed on the war-path to his first title. ripping off 39 points and sealing his case for finals m-v-p. and steph chipped in 34 of his own. put on the finishing touches and then it was all over. the golden state warriors. your world champions for the second time in three years. and with four all-stars under the age of 30, it doesn't look like the champagne will stop flowing anytime soon. and this golden dynasty is just

( averi )there are just about 2 1/2 hours until the parade starts and i can tell you that downtown open is filled with warriors fans who sacrificed time and sleep to get here early to get a good spot.fans started arriving as early as 3am to find parking and haul it over to the area around the parade stage. almost all are donning some kind of blue and gold ready to cheer on the nba champions.it wasn't easy to get here... finding s parking space close to the action is

continues today. we're waking up to temperatures in the 50s and 60s with relatively clear skies. this afternoon will be warmer than yesterday. expect highs to reach the mid to upper 80s inland, mid to upper 70s by the bay, and mid 60s at the coast. the weather pattern bringing us these warmer temperatures will continue to bake us as we head into the weekend. inland temps are expected to rise into the 90s on friday, then to the low 100s saturday and sunday. an excessive heat watch has been issued for the entire bay area from friday to sunday. be very careful if you plan to spend long periods outside. the only relief you'll find will be at the coast.

(james) one of the biggest moments from the warriors season is when golden state signed kevin durant.(mark) he made the decision on july 4th last year. this is video of the k-d signage going up outside of oracle arena shortly after the announcement durant signed a two-year 54 million dollar agreement with the warriors. it's considered one of the greatest acquisitions in n-b-a history. (mark) and there was a lot of backlash when k-d came to the warriors. this is video as he returned to

oklahoma city for the first time. there was a lot of talk about the relationship between durant and former teammate russel westbrook. they did not speak for much of the season... but the latest report says they are on speaking terms again. westbrook signed a contract extension with the thunder shortly after durant left for the (james) and the return had one major theme.... "cupcake" signs were all over the arena this was in reference to an instagram post russell westbrook made after durant signed with the warriors intimating durant was a "cupcake" for leaving the thunder. steph curryand draymond green got into the joke wearing the cupcake t-shirts after the game. durant's mom also got into the act. wearing a cupcake t-shirt of her own with the caption "after this tough & crazy weekend, i realized how much i love a great!!! cupcake" < "we did it. i told you when i was eight years old, we did it!" you hear me? look at me! you did it!>(mark) kevin durant won his

first n-b-a championship on monday night and his mother wanda was by his side. the superstar forward agreed to join the warriors back in july. when he was on the oklahoma city thunder, k-d won the regular season m-v-p award back in 20-14. in one of the most memorable m-v-p speeches of all time, durant thanked his mother for being there. first we want to go to the traffic hot spot. >> a problem on the east shore freeway, people trying to get into downtown oakland. let'stalk about this big problem on 80 in berkeley between gillman and bucannan. they're pushingsome of the traffic over to the 580 split. we have a box truck, several vehicles that need to be clear with traffic at a standstill. you may want to consider -- instead of the east shore freeway. westbound thecommute side nothing is blocked but even worse, traffic crawl out of rich monday, 42 minutes total a stretch to avoid. remember broadway, jackson, oak street, all blocked off for the warriors parade that's going to start at 10:00 this morning but they blocked those ramps off at 7:00 and that's putting more pressure on the freeway. youshould avoid it. everybody isrolling into downtown oakland right now.

. welcome back. tracking amajor hot spot on the east shore freeway 80 a tough ride. wehave this mainly crash working eastbound, it was blocking all lanes, looks like traffic is getting through and 2 lanes only but it's backing up into the maze westbound traffic the commute side it's picking up looking a little bit better, 40 minutes now from crokcet down to oakland. . we're tracking the forecast for today as well as we take a live look outside the sky is nice and clear. today is goingto be fantastic. don't worryabout that. we'll have yourfull forecast straight ahead. who are these people?

weather this morning... a major hot . let's get an up-2008 on traffic and weather right now. >> the east shore freeway is blocking 2 lanes of traffic. the 2 left lanes are blocked, an accident that's been working for over an hour now. at one pointwe had all lanes closed appeared they were diverting traffic off to 580, now, it's backed up into the

maze causing a major delay for eastbound commuters. youmay want to stick with city streets. westbound it's goingto be about 40 minutes to get down to oakland. checking onour bridges still crowded here, but no major issues. it's a24-minute trip heading over to the peninsula. bay bridge outjust a tad the cash lanes and or a pool lanes 14 minutes to work your way into downtown san francisco. stay away from the nemitz not looking so good right now. we have those closures in place into downtown oakland, broadway, jackson, oak street the on and off ramps blocked because of the warriors parade that's why it's 60 minutes to downtown oakland. so take 580instead only 32 minutes, that will save you some time. here's a look at the forecast this morning starting with a live look out here at sfo, blue skies, sunshine and that will be the case in downtown oakland where the

warriors victory parade will be moving its way from start to finish. mid-60s with sunny and slightly breezy conditions. temperatures right now getting warmer, more and more 60s on the map, 60 in livermore, by this afternoon we'll expect mid to upper 80s to low 90s for the east bay and north bay with low to mid-80s in the south bay. along the waterfront today looking for mid-70s from oakland all the way down to freemont. high pressure keeping most of the clouds and activity to our north. nothing but sunny and hot for the next several. 100 by saturday. looks like we'llkeep it in triple digit territory through the weekend. we'll talk more about how that might be dangerous coming up. and with the golden state warriors champs it seemed like they were going to sweep the cavs, it wasn't that easy. >> they would fight back

i've been suggesting 580 all morning west because look at that it's only 26 minutes compared to that drive on the nimitz freeway. that's how you save some time. if tough get to work if today is a regular day for you will be sitting in traffic in san francisco backed up beyond west grand but it's quiet. 25 minutes. no other big hot spots or mainly issues. it'sslow on the san mateo bridge. richmond bridge still backed up too but no big trouble spots into the north bay. one moreincident south 680, an accident blocking one lane so it's backed up well beyond 237. . >> all right. thank you. . continuing with your forecast now we're looking at pretty nice conditions again the sun has been out all morning long. and it's been clear. so we've been able to see the sun just fine and it's going to warm us up nicely. here's alook at your parade

forecast. there's the victory parade getting underway at 10:00 this morning. looking at mid-60swith a slight breeze coming from the ocean. 12:15 or so they're expecting that's when the parade will end and will start the speeches right at the shore line to lake merit. at that point inthe low 70s, but still very comfortable. make sure youdrink plenty of water though. here's where temperatures are right now. we've seen a steady increase in temperatures and more of the yellow taking over. we've got 66 in napa, 65 currently in livermore and those numbers will continue to climb until for the east bay valleys we get to the upper 80s. as we head into tomorrow we could be looking at 20 degrees above average for this time of year. upper 80s in the north bay low 80s in south bay and looking for a mix of low to mid-70s along the bay shore line. the wide picture which we can see here from the satellite perspective has relatively clear conditions over the san

deep. >> there are still people arriving. bart is bringing in over 100,000 writers today. truck behind me there is a way to buy tickets at the bart station in walnut creek. we were here as early as 4:30 and there were people here getting on bart to get to the parade in oakland. just a few tips. have someone drop you off. get left or uber or have someone drop you off. that we can avoid the parking mess. parking will be scarce at the bart station. do not use the lake merritt bart station. is the 19th street or the 12th street station. lake merritt is very small . patient is key. there will be a lot of bart writers today.

in the north bay with upper 80s to near 90 degrees temperatures. along the waterfront mid-70s and in the south bay temperatures will be in the low 80s this afternoon. it only gets warmer. we have high pressure that is keeping the clouds away. we will be cooking under the sun. friday, saturday and sunday the national weather service has issued an excessive heat watch which will turn into an advisory or warning. every area in red will be under this watch. you can see it is the entire bay area. the only relief will be at the coast where temperatures will be in the upper 60s to low 70s. this is what we want to try and get the word out about. the long stretch of potentially dangerous heat we have ahead of us especially for the inland east bay valleys, delta and some of our north bay valleys. we will be any 100 degree range
