4's charles clifford is live tonight in san francisco with an update. charles. . . well, sfpd says that two suspects in a robbery were arrested last week and that those same individuals have now been charged with the homicide last month on twin peaks. the san francisco police department says that 19 year-old lamonte mims of patterson, california and 20 year-old fantasy decuir of san francisco have been charged with the murder of 71-year-old edward french.on the morning of sunday, july 16th .71-year-old french was found on twin peaks suffering from a single gunshot wound. he later died at the hospital. witnesses in the area at the time reported seeing two people fleeing the area. french's camera was also taken during the attack.a few days later on july 28th, a 53 year-old male and a 33 year-old female were robbed at gunpoint near st marys cathedral along geary boulevard. the thieves took a camera and wallet. during the investigation into that case, police identified mims and decuir as the suspects and

they were arrested on august 3rd and charged with robbery and conspiracy.since the arrests, investigators say they have been able to connect both suspects to the twin peaks homicide. police say the two crimes were very similar but that they also found additional evidence.sotthere has to be more than one similarity in the commission of the crime. in this case we looked at surveillance footage, to witnesses statements that were obtained, to evidence at the scene.on monday, both mims and decuir were charged homicide. mims is also a convicted felon who is now facing additional charges of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon in a vehicle, and committing an offense while out on bail. no evidence that the pair were involved in additional crimes. in san francisco, charles clifford kron 4 news. accused of stabbing a 26- year-old man to death ... a man with whom he was having a relationship. kron 4's dan kerman ... at the east county hall of justice in dublin... with what happened in court today. chicago murder suspects monday 0807178pkgappearing before a judge at the east county hall of justice in dublin, 42 year old former northwestern university professor wyndham lathem waived extradition and will go to chicago to face murder charges in connection with the killing of this man, 26 year old trenton cornell- duranleau. cornell-duranleau was found stabbed to death inside the suspect's chicago apartment on july 27th. police have said the two had a personal relationship. sot kenneth wine/lathem's attorney 27-35hopefully the case comes out in the courtroom as it should and the speculation and rumors stop so that this man can get a fair trial. that's what we're really concerned aboutinvestigators say after the murder, lathem sent a video to friends and relatives apologizing for his involvement in the crime which he called the "biggest mistake of my life." friends of his were in the courtroom, but

forecast with brittney shipp. it's the kron 4 news at ten ... right here on the bay area's news station. tesla is look to raise one-and-a-half billion dollars so it can ramp up production of its new model 3. billed as an affordable electric car... the model -3 started rolling off the assembly line last month at the company's bay area plant. the demand is relatiively high... with about 500-thousand people on the waiting list. tesla says, it hopes to be producing about 5-thousand cars a week... by the end of the year. by offering bonds to raise cash... the company is betting on an even bigger increase. to put things in perspective... tesla made a total of about 84-thousand vehicles last year. the model- 3 has a price tag of 35-thousand dollars... but with federal tax credits... the price starts at about 27-thousand.
