happened shortly before the fire. . court documents say bautista followed another car.. rammed into it several times... pointed a gun at the other driver and then took off. on top that... police say he also tried to steal a car. u-c berkeley police arrested and questioned him. they say bautista admitted to starting the fire - as well as several others - using his cigarette lighter. (catherine) new reports say that north korea has successfully produced a small nuclear warheadthat can fit inside its missiles.. that prompted a fiery ultimatum from president trump.....in language that surprised some. the president was asked about that report today.....and the fact that north korea has launched two ballistic missiles in the last month.....and twelve in the past year. north korea has been threatening the u.s. again today....now claiming it's looking at a pre-emptive strike on guam - which is home to several u-s military bases. as for north korea's earlier threats -- this was president trump's response... pres. trump: north korea best not make any more threats to the united states. they will be met with fire and fury
like the world has never seen. he has been very threatening beyond a normal state. and as i said they will be met with fire, fury and frankly power the likes of which this world has never seen before. president trump also tweeted about the matter...saying he's glad that different countries are banding together.. as for tonight's threat to guam - an american territory - north korea says it wants to 'contain' u.s. bases. some are arguing that the president's angry threats aren't helping... senator john mccain, for example, says "great leaders don't threaten foes - unless they're ready to act." and he says he's not sure that president trump is ready to act against north korea. ( catherine ) san francisco police say they'll continue to have officers on foot patrol in dolores park seven days a
week, at least for the immediate future.( steve ) this follows last week's brazen daylight shooting that left three people injured. kron4's maureen kelly went to the park and found got mixed reaction from park regulars. uniformed officers surveyed the scene at the top of the dolores park west pathway.as one heads down the stairs on patrolone regular park goer thanks him for being here.i'm really relieved that their foot controls in the park i mean obviously i don't think anyone would want to walk through park at night as an individual to fight today when with when a sense of security when going throughshe says she walked up to the scene the day of the shooting..and saw a one of the victims on the ground but i was just telling people recently how safe it is and that's constantly filled with families united everyone cancer in the sunny day so i was really shocked when i saw this transpiresit's not a a surprise knowing the people of been hanging out here but to actually have it happen is really not a great thing at all these dogwalkers also live nearby and say they are happy to see the beefed up patrols. it's about time do their job and keep up some of the people out who really don't belong herebut not all of the dolores park regulars are happy with the visable police presenceone
of the men you see being talked by police in this video says the cops mistakenly thought they were sharing an illegal substance.in his oppinion..police could be making the community safer by working to catch the criminals responsible for the shooting.rather than making people using the park uncomfotable.also this a place where people typically come to feel as free as they can for a few hours today while living in san francisco in trumps america the uniforms don't communicate that messageso far no one has been arrested in the shooting that disrupted the peace of this popular park. police say they are still looking for witnesses and surveillance video that will help them catch those responsible. maureen kelly kron4 news.
( steve ) san francisco police have some new numers when it comes to police officers using force and when officers are attacked. these numbers are from january to march of this year... compared to the same time period last year. the number of uses of force dropped by 150... or almost 16 percent. and the number of assaults on officers went down by 45 percent. 80 were reported in 2016 versus 44 to begin 2017. we should also note... there has been a change in leadership. at the beginning 2016... greg suhr was chief. he resigned following a deadly shooting... toney chaplin was the interim chief at the beginning of the year. ( catherine ) happening tonight: the city of moraga is considering whether to declar a fiscal emergency. city leaders say they're hurting for money after a couple of expensive projects to repair roads damaged in storms. by declaring an emergency... they'd be able to raise fees without having to go through a vote. also... a fiscal emergency can be the first step a city takes in california before declaring
bankruptcy. ( steve ) going on right now... san jose is considering a housing project that would be geared toward teachers. a realtor wants to use some land she owns to become a development that would provide up to 16 apartments for teachers. in order to move forward, she needs to get the council to sign off on the change. currently the land is designated for jobs... which means building businesses. it is a bit of thorny issue because san jose is dealing with a housing crunch while at the same time trying to lure more jobs. let's take a look outside right now for the current conditions in the bay area... chief meteorologist brittney shipp joins us now with the forecast.

(steve)... and a very scary monent at 49ers training camp... as a player is carted off the field with a head injury... mark carpenter has an update... plus team reaction... that's coming up
injuries are being taken more seriously. today-- those concerns took center stage at 49ers camp... as rookie linebacker donavin newsom left practice in an ambulance after suffering a concussion following a brutal collision. here's some early footage from today's session...and file video of newsom. he's number 48...an undrafted rookie out of missouri. this all happened outside of the window photographers are allowed to shoot, so we don't have actual footage of the play. team officials say newsom collided with fellow rookie chanceller james. newsom went unconcscious for a short period of time...and he was taken off the field on a stretcher. it was initially thought he sustained a neck injury, however, the 49ers tell us that tests revealed he suffered no cervical spine fractures. he is currently recovering at stanford medical center. head coach kyle shanahan discussed the incident after practice. when that happens it kind of puts everything in perspective for everyone. so you just try to end it and everyone knows the deal and what these guys do risk in the game. sometimes things like that happen and
you prey for the best you hope for the best it is part of the game. that's why i can't have anymore respect for nfl players and college players, people that play the game. because it is risky like that. i just saw the ball in the air, chance and donovan both broke on it, and they just ran into each other. obviously donovan got the worst of it. i heard it more than saw it, so. obviously you never want to see that happen to anybody. unfortunately we play a collision sport, and things like that are really unpreventable. switching gears now-- johnny manziel could soon return to football, but in a much different capacity. the beleaguered former browns quarterback and heisman trophy winner said today that if he isn't able to return to the nfl, he'd like to be a coach at the college level. he made the remarks at the international football betting conference in costa rica. the 24-year-old admitted that he's been tough to coach, but
feels that he could still contribute to the sport. staying in the nfl-- if you are someone that can't stand the new england patriots, you now have more reason to hate them. the team is now the first nfl franchise to have their own planes to fly to games. according to espn, they bought a pair of boeing 767s this offseason..and modeled them to their specifications. they are five-time super bowl champs...and have made sure we don't forget that as the lombardi trophies are painted on the tail. each of the planes has been retrofitted with all first-class seats. one will be the main jet, while the other is used as a backup. a's back in town tonight and hosting the mariners. but before getting ready for the game, they took some time to serve the community. some members of the green and gold working with volunteers... and filling up one- thousand backpacks with school supplies for students across oakland. the a's are teaming up with the lend- a-hand foundation in helping low income families. in

side...reflecting on a journey that started with his first major in 1990. every time i play in one, i remember back when i was a kid competing in my yard against the greats trying to beat them for major titles and we both been fortunate to have won some. i know we both want to win a couple more. we've played together and against each other for so many years, it doesn't seem that long ago from those days but it sure looks a long time ago. here's something that you won't see mickelson and els ever do-- rap with justin bieber. in the bed together but we sleepin' solo. hectin, drive you loco. you supposed to be my uno, yuko. oh no, round two again. we've been fighting more than ryu and ken. kevin na, wesley bryan, and the biebs bringing some millenial entertainment to the event...by rapping on the quail hollow course. they are all singing along to bieber's song 'no pressure.' all the fun and games stop thursday when the first round
