the entire country. so how do you prepare? what do you need to look out for? well first you need to make sure you purchase the proper glasses. dr. evelyn dearing ÷ envision eye care dr. evelyn dearing: "these eclipse glasses will be completely dark, when you put them on you won't be able to see anything, they're used just to be able to see the sun. if you put them on and you can see something looking around they are not real." according to the american astromonical society some companies are printing the iso logo and certification label on fake glasses. if you buy these you can damage your eye sight. dr. evelyn dearing: "you are at risk for solar retinopathy, more specifically the macula is involved and the macula is the part of the eye that is responsible for our sharpest vision."you may not notice it right away but your vision can become blurred due to the rays frying the back of the eye. dr. evelyn dearing: "the rays are more powerful because of the positioning of the sun. you really shouldn't ever stare into the sun."so to make sure you stay protected here's some advice.dr. evelyn

dearing: "you want to make sure when you get the glasses and you're ready to look at the eclipse, you turn away first put the glasses on then look at the eclipse, the same thing with taking them off make sure you turn away then take them off. practice with your children that they're going about them the proper way. and if you are unsure whether or not they are legit, better safe than sorry."
