(cath) when the shooting began - her husband apparently told her to run... while he stayed behind to help the wounded. she has not been seen or heard from since. kron4's charles clifford talked to her friends and family. soti can't imagine what vinnie is going through.according to san francisco police officers association president martin halloran, sfpd officer vinnie etcheber and his wife, stacee, were at the concert in las vegas when shots rang out sunday evening.sothe's a veteran sfpd officer and he immediately told his wife to run. he started to render aid to the wounded and evacuate them.in the confusion, officer etcheber lost track of his wife and she still hasn't been found. complicating matters is the fact that stacee wasn't carrying a phone or id.sotshe did not have a cell phone with her; she left it in a hotel room. she did not have identification on her; she gave it to vinnie when they entered the concert so we don't know where she's at.

katie was with her girlfriend in this crowd when they heard shots. they origianally thought the sounds were that of firecrackers but when a second round of shots began and they witnessed people being hit then dropping to the ground. they knew there was a shooter.sot when the gunshots went off again and i turned around i saw a lady that got shot right in the forehead and i knew that this was actually real then i dropped down and buried my head under people. i could just feel the bullets passing right by my ear.when that round of shots stopped katie thought they'd have a chance to run somewhere else which is exactly what they did. sot i looked at my girlfriend and said we got to go now get up and run.the two were split from one another but katie was able to take cover in a porta potty with another woman. they waited until long after the shots stopped, opened the door, and ran to where they were staying at the tropicana. sotkatie says she is greatful to be alive. while everything was going on she even reached out to her mom, dad, brother, and boyfriend with a quick but meaningful message.sot (steve) kron four's

if and when they should make a run for it.they say it was hard to think straight when their minds were so wrapped up in questions. "it was so loud. and you just don't know. you really don't know. is it a group, or is it one? is it gonna stop in two minutes? i mean it just kept going. it was probably the longest eight minutes of your life anyone can experience." "the wave of people just trying to do whatever comes to mind for their first instinct and run away. i saw a police officer running toward the gunfire, which was the opposite way of everybody else and that really made an impact on me." (catherine) the massacre in las vegas has put security concerns at the top of the list san francisco -- the city is hosting several major events - expected to attract hundreds of thousands of people. kron4's maureen kelly talked with mayor ed lee about how the tragedy in las vegas affects fleet week. the spectacle of the blue angels shooting across the bay area sky .or the massive ships sailing under the golden gate bridge into the bay may be the highlight that draws the crowds.but there's more to fleet week than military might.natsfor the past several years.fleet week as also been about the armed forces and local emergency responders getting together to swap strategies.for how to help out the bay area during the
