(james)it's another chilly start to the day with 40s inland and 50s by the bay. the skies are clear and the harvest moon is nearly full. temperatures this afternoon will rise a couple of degrees over yesterday's numbers, but still run fairly similar. expect inland highs to be in the low 80s; bayside temperatures will warm to the mid 70s; coastal communities will peak in the upper 60s. winds will be calmer today. the red flag warning has been canceled. looking at the rest of the week, inland highs are still expected to warm to the upper 80s by this weekend. sunrise in san francisco is at 7:08 am. sunset is at 6:48 pm. don't forget you can always get the latest weather updates and traffic alerts with the kron4 (darya) our top story this morning... president trump is on his way to las vegas... as investigators search for a motive in the deadliest mass shooting in modern u-s history.(mark) 59 people were killed... including the gunman. more than 520 others were injured. this morning the girlfriend of the shooter, stephen paddock, is back in the u-s and is being questioned by investigators. marilou danley arrived at los angeles international airport last night. she was met by f-b-i agents. danley was in the philippines during the sunday night attack. authorities say paddock transferred 100-thousand dollars to the philippines days before the attack. investigators are hoping that danley can provide insight into why her boyfriend opened fire on the concert.

(darya) and las vegas is preparing for president trump to arrive later this morning. he is en route right now. (mark) marcos ortiz is near the mccarran international airport where air force one will be landing. marcos, what can you tell us about the president's visit? one of his priorities, according to the white house is visiting the victims of the shooting. there's more than 500 injured. we're not sure of the numbers that have been treated and released but that's who he wants to see. this is president trump's first visit to las vegas since becoming president. after leaving puerto rico he is

expected to land around nine a.m. pacific time.how long he'll be here remains a mystery.the white house does say he plans to visit families of victims that remain hospitalized from injuries resulting from the shooting.a authoritgies say not all were shot, many were injured during the rush to get out of the concern venue.at the convention center, families seeking seeking information about missing loved one's remain. it's also a temporary morgue for those killed in sunday night's shooting. families also come here to identify the bodies of those killed.the red cross expects the president to visit those families.the president may also travel down this main boulevard which leads to mandalay bay where steven paddock was shooting from. he is also expecting to visit police and first responders and offering them thanks for saving so many lives. inside the gunman's hotel room. these pictures were released overnight... showing the room where the gunman was when he opened fire. you can see just how many guns were inside the room. police found a total of 47 guns in between the hotel room and the shooter's two nevada homes. and in his car there was several pounds of a fertilizer that can be used to make bombs. ( darya ) the wife of a san francisco police officer killed in the las vegas mass shooting is being honored by her loved ones. hundreds showed up to a vigil held in novato last night for stacee etcheber. she was with her husband vinnie at the concert when the shooter opened fire. the two were separated during the chaos. vinnie told stacee to run as he was

trying to help other victims. stacee's brother-in-law says her children had a question he didn't know how to answer. ( darya ) stacee leaves behind a ten-year-old son and a thirteen-year-old daughter. we will have more on the bay area victims of the shooting coming up at 7:30. being called heroes this morning after helping over 100 people get to safety during the las vegas deadly mass shooting. david munger says it didn't take long for he and his friends to realize the pop sounds they heard during the concert was gunfire. munger says after he and his friends first helped some female friends get to safety... they began helping others while gunfire rained down. listen now to munger describe the situation. (mark) a man in san francisco wakes up to guns being pointed at him... and then his home is robbed. and this morning police are looking for the robbers.

the robbery happened early monday morning on pennsylvania avenue in the potrero hill neighborhood. the 43-year- old victim says he woke up to three people pointing guns at him. one of them attacked the man while the others ransacked his home. they got away with a laptop, game console, camera, and three guns. the robbers fled the home, and police do not have a detailed description of them. the man was taken to the hospital but is going to be okay. is being treated at ucsf benioff's children's hospital. one parent says visits like these help s her daugther feel better.(jennifer kirk, patient's mom 39-42)it changes her for the day she's happier and friendlier and more outgoing it makes a huge huge differenceand her daughter's reaction to this visit?amazing (maureen)while this day of play is a great distraction for the patients here at the hospital and their siblings. this servicemen and women say they get a lot out of it too (corporal maria lopez, united states marine corps 56-1:04.) it's nice i'm glad i had the opportunity to come. just to talk to these amazing kids they're so adorable, they're so cute. i'm really glad were able to do this with other marines and sailors altogether (sailor tyler fears, united states navy 1:10-121)just doing this makes me feel like i've done more like for my country than just being at work it's a humanitarian mission for the littlest and most vunerable . helping sick kids and their siblings..get their mind off their troubles.and back to the important work of being kids.maureen kelly kron4 news

aldean is cancelling three upcoming tour dates... out of respect for the las vegas victims and to take time to mourn.(mark) aldean was onstage sunday night when a gunman shot at the "route 91 harvest festival." in a statement... aldean said this weekend's shows in los angeles, san diego and anaheim are cancelled. he'll resume his tour on next week in tulsa, oklahoma. aldean wrote -- "it has been an emotional time for everyone involved this week, so we plan to take some time to mourn the ones we have lost and be close with our family and friends." aldean played in the bay area just one day before the shooting. ( darya ) and one man in illinois is making a memorial for the victims of the vegas shooting. greg zanis is making 58 wooden crosses... one for each victim. he then will drive the crosses to las vegas to set up a memorial. he has been making wooden crosses for memorials for the past 20 years. he says for this memorial each cross will have a heart attached to it with the names and pictures of each victim. he says he will need about 200 feet of space for the memorial.
