thousands of people here tonight. there's also a very strong police and security presense. natsthrough out the day wednesday and into the evening hours, security was very tight in and around levis' stadium. natspolice from several local departments kept a watchfull eye as people arrived at the concert. security guards with the stadium were also spread out watching for problems. for security reasons, authorities are not saying exactly how many officers and guards are here tonight. sources have told kron 4 that there are also spotters on several of the tall buildings around levis stadium.goers we talked to said they appreciated the extra security. sotafter an event, security is usually heightened, so it's probably safer that normal. these coldplay fans also said they didn't want to let the tragic events of this past weekend to deter them from coming tonight.soti think if you live in fear it's not really going to do anything for you. it's just a matter of praying and being aware. i wasn't really concerned about it. i don think it has made me more heightened of my awareness. of course you never

(grant) the shooter's girlfriend says she knew nothing about the massacre... mari-lou danley's attorney describes the man his client loved and lived with, for the past several years. (vicki) we're learning new information about the final moments of a bay area woman who was killed during sunday night's shooting. 32-year-old michelle vo... was attending the route 91 harvest country music festival when she was shot.. her older sister says michelle was a new fan of country music... and decided to attend her first country music festival on her own. that's where she met kody robertson from columbus, ohio. robertson says he stuck by michelle's side all the way to the end... even waiting for her family to arrive in vegas to give them the news.

kron four's terisa estacio is in fremont with their stories. this is the happy group a short time before the gun fire started raining down on them - killing and injuring people so close to them. britni eastin. we like to do things together, but this i never thought would be one of them. the couples have been friends for awhile. their anniversaires days apart. they both hae children the same ages. also along that night was jacquelines brother who had begged to tag along as you can hear and see in this video - as shots ran out, people were running wildly. the couples got separated, but were both determined to make it out alive. david easton. we just ran. jacqueline. we did what ever we could, i saw people falling, smoke rising from the bullets. now sitting together they are trying to take it all in and deal with the trauma of it all. but a feeling of gratitude is something they all are embracing. we all feel lucky and fortunate. they say not going to busy places for awhile. resident is being hailed a hero after saving the life of a man....wounded during the shooting. his name is james lawson. he grew up in concord, graduated from ygnacio valley high school back in 2006. his grandmother still lives in the east bay, and didn't want to speak on camera but told kron4 that she is proud of what her grandson did. his long time next door neighbor say she feels the same... wharf has closed.(vicki) in fact it's the second restaurant to shut it's doors in wharf in the last two months. kron 4's j.r. stone is following the story and joins us live tonight in san francisco, j.r. you talked with former employees, what are they saying tonight? (j.r.)i did, you'd think they'd be upset about it but they were more sad than anything else. these are people who loved working there and ended up getting a day notice that they were out of a job. clara brado had worked at the rainforest cafe since it opened almost 17 years ago along the warf. she goes in last saturday and finds out that that is her last day of work. instead of complaining to us though she said good things are to come for her. she believes it. she said that business may have been down but she didn't think this would happen. i reached out to the company who said the landlord opted not to renew the rainforest cafe lease and that is why they closed. i talked with nearby business owners who said they were told by some folks that rainforest cafe was trying to work a

more and more of them stolen from people...across the bay area. in alameda for instance... there have been 11 snatch and grab laptop robberies, or attempts, of theseover the last few months. the latests incident there...happening around noon today. take a look. two suspects hit the starbucks store on blanding avenue...they tried to steal a laptop ...but failed. 10 minutes laterthe duo walked inside another starbucks...this one on park street. there they each stole two laptops...before running away on foot.(sot) one arrest has been made from a prior incident ...and police are hoping by releasing this surveillace video...they will get more leads. both suspects are described as black men around 20 years old in age. one was wearing a black beanie cap...a blue shirt ..and blue jeans.

(vicki) new at nine... police have released surveillance video of the man who robbed a danville drug store last month. it happened at the walgreens on san ramon valley boulevard. the man enter the store wearing a surgical face mask, a beanie, a grey hoodie and black pants. he walked straight to the store's pharmacy and put some items on the counter. he slips the pharmacy worker a note demanding prescriptions pills. the man then takes a gun out of the pocket of his sweatshirt and pocket of his sweatshirt and put it on the counter after getting a bag of pills he walks off. no one was hurt. (grant) two weeks after hurricane maria struck puerto rico... most residents are still without food, water and power. volunteer teams are working to deliver supplies to the island and evacuate people it's an emergency mission. a mission to literally save lives. but it's not

(grant) the las vegas massacre is shedding light on the differences between semi- automaticand fully-automatic rifles. we have a quick demonstration of the two.. the first- a semi-automatic assault rifle... the second - a fully automatic assault rifle. (grant) authorities say this kind of fire power is legal and that you can fire these weapons as quickly as you can pull the trigger. the las vegas shooter might have used a modification called a slide stock...which is also legal. according to the manufacturer's video - it's easy to assemble - and turns a semi-automatic rifle into a fully automatic weapon. a former a-t-f agent calls it a "work around" of the gun laws...not a loophole.

every weekday morning...big buses are taking tech workers down 101 and 280...to companies in and around silicon valley.(vicki) tonight, our stanley roberts is making sure those bus drivers are following the rules of the road. at a california highway patrol pop up commercial inspection stations, all types of vehicles get waived in like this tractor which turned out to be a city of sunnyvale vehicle nats: ambiance so a santa clara count sheriff deputy who is also working the inspection station has a chat with the driver since there are no plates on the tractor it needs to be on a flatbed nats: ambiance this big rig had some issues that need to be corrected for the truck could take off if appears that the nut has come loose off the u-bolt that holds the air tank now you know the danger of that right absolutely what is it the air line could come off and i could lose all air pressure in the truck and that

could be a major issue however, let's look at this google bus, i call it that because it actually has google written all over it .but it's actually contracted to transport google employees it was waved into the checkpoint; officers noticed one of the compartment doors was missing according to the driver the door fell off on the freeway nats: ambiance but there was a bigger issue discovered listen in this is a traffic ticket for falsifying your driving records so you have to have this accurate and this is all falsified the driver had a valid drivers license and insurance so that wasn't the issue but it would seem the driver is a time traveler because his drivers log was filled out for a week in advance that's a big no no bus drivers are required to have at a minimum 8 hours of rest between jobs let's listen to the chp anyone that driving passenger carrying vehicle such as a bus, if you present a false record of duty status your our of service for 8 consecutive hours so unfortunately you are going to have to get in touch with your employer let him know that he needs another driver out here

and friend... a hard one to handle...friends say - last week... after a two year battle.... kennard died last week from complications of the west nile virus.sot - kenney - she would try to hang in there because she's a spitfire it takes a lot to take her down nowfriends say the human services professor came down with flu like symptoms during the fall 2015 semester... she wasnt getting better.. dealing with cognitive issues and in and out of area hospitals with no diagnoses.. it wasn't until february 2016 that kennard was finally diagnosed with west nile at uc davis medical center... friends say she spent a lot of time outdoors... which is where they believe she was bit by the mosquito carrying the disease...sot - hamilton - to see the deterioration of her health it was quite sobering and alarming for us kennard never went back to teaching after coming down with symptoms in 2015... but her legacy lives on...with her focus on mental health and helping others... mjc credits her for transforming the human services department...while students credit her for transforming their lives...sot - kenney - she always said don't ever underestimate who you are in the field you are important you are a peer and no one can ever take that place ?

(grant) a police confrontation in indiana unfolded like something out of a movie...probably because ... it was áásupposed to be a movie.. but police and nearby businesses in the area weren't notified... it all started a masked man with a gun was spotted outside a bar ... police responded and didn't take any chances, ordering the man to hit the ground until they can check out the scene. the man was an actor filming a robbery scene... the gun was a prop... and he was filming the movie with a local production crew. the actor will not face any charges. luckily, no one was hurt...
