they're all criminals. kron 4's ali reid sat down with the director of the african advocacy network and joins us now in studio... ali, how are the president's comments affecting them? it was definitely difficult for them to hear those comments ..... refering to them as criminals.but say people can turn this into something positive.pkga sanctuary city is meant to protect innocent families trying to make a life in the u-s. but president donalad trump says california is protecting criminals. especially ms-13 gang members. we talk about child safety, that these kids walk home alone and they meet one of these gangs. these aren't human beings. these are animals.he's now threatening to pull immigration and border patrol from the state.if we ever pulled ice out and said her let california figure it out themselves, in 2 months they'll be begging for us to come back. they would be begging.california is the nation's first 'sanctuary state' - which limits the degree to which state and local agencies can cooperate with ice agents .... advocacy groups believe the president is trying to pool all immigrants into one pile.we're not criminals. this is some sort of scare tactics.scaring americans to be afraid of us. but americans are human beings like us and we live around them in our everyday lives. and they know that the majority we're decent hardworking people that believe in america and we're working for that.i believe immigration is an issue in america that needs a real solution. i think the president needs to work on a real solution instead of demonizing us and trying to scare people.scare people.and trying to scare people. it's

the gilman street exit off the 80 has been getting attention from the albany city council. this week members saw plans of how the area could be reconstructed to make drivers safer. kron 4's hermela aregawi spoke to officials and drivers.. she joins us live from albany with that story.. hermela, what is being proposed here? the council is considering adding roundabouts .. on both sides of i-80 which would funnel traffic on and off the freeway. they're also discussing adding a pedestrian and bicycle overpass. the alameda county transportation commission is leading the project. according to their data.. the number of accident on the eastbound ramp are 95- percent above the state average.. and westbound is even worse.. 115-percent above the state average. so right now they are doing an environmental review right that should be completed by next year. and they plan on starting construction later in 2019. at the meeting this week, one albany council member expressed concern that the construction will make an absolutel mess out of an already high traffic area. but the mayor of albany appears to support the plan and its goal of making that area safer for drivers. now what's still to be determined is where the overpass would be placed. originally it was designed south of the interchange.. but after feedback from cyclist and pedestrians.. architects are considering putting the overpass north of the interchange. we spoke with some people that frequently drive through that area and they say they're happy to hear that something will finally be done about the dangerous interchange. lauren kaplan/albanyyou know it's
