kron-4's charles clifford joins us live from the high school tonight... charles do we know how this happened? well, this is just a tragic situation. there are a lot of unaswered questions but tonight students here at san ramon valley high school are dealing with the loss of one of their own.around 145 tuesday afternoon, students and teachers preparing for a p- e class in san ramon valley high school's pool found a 15-year-old male student underwater in the deep end of the pool. riley bergstedt was in the class, he says several students and teachers jumped in to help.sothe was in the deep end and they pulled him out of the pool and started doing cpr on him.another teacher called 9-1-1 and paramedics arrived moments

later.sotpossible student in the pool. coco county is onscene with cpr in progress. the student was tranpsorted to the kaiser hospital in walnut creek but tuesday afternoon the school said that he had passed away. police are now investigating but have not yet said how or why the young man was in the pool.as news of his death spread, many students came to leave flowers at a growing memorail on campus. several students told us that the young man, who's name has not yet been released, was a good student and a kind person. sothe was a good student and i think he was a good person.sot he took part in may extra curricular activites and he had a bunch of friend groups. he never failed to make them laught and smile. to be a good friend.in danville, charles clifford kron 4 news. (pam) a big story we are following. embattled santa clara county judge aaron persky, is breaking his silence.(ken) today judge persky opened up about his fight to stay on the bench. in one month---voters will

decide whether or not he deserves to be recalled. persky has faced mounting pressure to step down or be removed since issuing what critics call a light sentence in the brock turner sexual assault case. but the judge says he does not believe the sentencing deserves a recall.

community cabins. this will be the second location in oakland for this type of housing. the first is set up at sixth and castro. this new location is at 47th and northgate. as kron 4's michelle kingston reports -- this is an effort by the city of oakland to clean up the streets, and help homeless people find housing. are investigating an armed carjacking in a bart parking lot. reports say, three men stole the victim's car at gunpoint. it happened here at the west oakland bart station last night at around 11-30. the victim's car is described as a red toyota camry ... license plate number 6-a-q-b-4-9-9. police say, no injuries were reported. (ken) a federal district judge says jose garcia zarate faces an uphill battle proving federal gun charges were brought solely because of

politics that judge says he's skeptical of the claim that garcia zarate is a target of a vindictive federal prosecution because of the pier 14 shooting. that case ignited a heated debate over immigration. but a jury acquitted garcia zarate in the 20-15 murder of kate steinle. federal officials charged him with illegal gun possession five days later. ( pam ) the sacramento police department is investigating the arrest of a man who was questioned by an officer .... for leaving his car idling, outside a 7- eleven store.( ken ) the arrest came after a violent scuffle between the two and it was all caught on camera... reporter lonnie wong has the story. erin darby ortiz posted this cell phone video of her boyfriend craig williams objecting to being manhandled by a police officer.police acknowledged that williams had his car idling outside this 7/11 store on 47th avenue in the land park area.but then it got worse..four days after the

incident the talk around the store centered on the video... this vendor didnút want to be identified.ortiz said in a facebook post that williams has no record and has a cheerful disposition.but like so many other videos like this, the camera isnút on from the beginning...when itús turned on it appears the officer already has a grasp of williams wrist as if he was trying to control or handcuff him. after williams submits it appears that the officer asks him if he was reaching for something...williams says no. ...police say he was uncooperative from he beginning...a manager at the store who witnessed the incident told us williams was upset throughout...and vocal about proclaiming his innocence of wrong doing.a city code makes it illegal to have a running vehicle unattended on public or private property, but police say other violations were involved.the police department is now investigating how a citation violation escalated to resisting arrest.today this detective told us he was at the store to look into the matter further.the store has numerous security cameras, and police say body camera video would also be reviewed if they were operable.some observers

( ken ) new at eight... a case of alleged racial profiling in missouri is making national headlines.(pam) three black teenagers say, they were shopping at a clothing store, when they were wrongly accused of stealing. the teens say they noticed employees of the nordstrom rack... were following them around the store... while they shopped last week. when they left the store, they say, police surrounded them in the parking lot accusing them of theft. after an investigation, police let all three go.. with no charges.eric rogers ii: "the police we're actually good. they understood where we were coming from and they showed us that they were just

doing their job."dirone taylor: "i knew it was coming but at the same time i was feeling embarrassed, agitated, mixed emotions with the whole situation because i knew that we didn't deserve it." the president of nordstrom rack flew to missouri to apologize to the teens in person. in a statement, the company admitted the situation was not handled well... and said, it does not tolerate discrimination. (pam) a south florida student says. he is driven to change his life, and he is taking a business man's offer to just do that.(ken) lamont harrison traded in his family's guns in exchange for a sweet ride. rashawn welch is the owner of a luxury car rental company and president of cease fire now, an organization that works to end gun violence in south florida. welch came up with the unique offer to trade in any guns for a free car rental. that's when the high school senior made his move. in exchange for three guns, harrison will be getting a ferrari rental for his prom. harrison says it

couple who fell in love while working at chipotle.... just had another milestone at the restaurant.(pam) the two delivered their baby outside a chipotle. so the restaurant threw them a baby shower ... with a burrito shaped cake and all. it started when the couple was headed to the hospital. but the baby was coming sooner than expected... so they pulled over and actually ended up in front of chipotle. and that is where they had jaden. the dispatchers that helped deliver the baby... also came to the shower. they say.. this call will be tough to top. high school in the east bay after a 15-year old boy drowns in the school's pool... and now police are investigating what happened...(grant) thanks for joining us, i'm grant lodes...(vicki) and i'm vicki liviakis.... it happened at san ramon valley high school in danville just before two this afternoon... students and teachers found the 15-year-old boy in the deep end of the schools pool. (grant) he was rushed to the hospital...but he did not survive. kron 4's charles clifford is live for us tonight in danville with

details. charles. . . well, this is just a tragic situation. there are a lot of unaswered questions but tonight students here at san ramon valley high school are dealing with the loss of one of their own. around 145 tuesday afternoon, students and teachers preparing for a p-e class in san ramon valley high school's pool found a 15-year-old male student underwater in the deep end of the pool. riley bergstedt was in the class, he says several students and teachers jumped in to help.sot our teacher ran and helped them get out of the pool and then did cpr with him along with the students.another teacher called 911 and paramedics arrive within minutes.sotpossible student in the pool. coco county is onscene with cpr in progress. the student was tranpsorted to the kaiser hospital in walnut creek but tuesday afternoon the school said that he had passed away. police are now investigating but have not yet said how or why the young man was in the pool.as news of his death spread, many students came to leave flowers at a growing memorail on campus. several students told us that the young man, who's name has not yet been released, was a good student and a kind person. sothe was always goofing around
