(ken) fremont police are looking for a man suspected of groping a woman in her garage yesterday. police say the victim just parked in her garage in the ardenwood district when the man grabbed her breast. the woman screamed and scared off the man who said quote "oh sorry, wrong house." officers are describing the suspect as a black male in his 20's, about six feet tall with a goatee. police say he was wearing a baseball cap with a black or gray horizontal striped long sleeved shirt.

(pam) a big story we have been tracking for you all day: tragedy strikes an east bay high school ... a teen drowns in the school's swimming pool. (ken) and now police are investigating what happened.. it happened at san ramon valley high school in danville just before two this afternoon... students and teachers found the 15-year-old boy in the deep end of the schools pool.(pam) he was rushed to the hospital... but he did not survive. kron 4's charles clifford is live tonight in danville with details. charles will grief counslers be available for students and staff? (chuck) well, this is just a tragic situation. there are a lot of unaswered questions but tonight students here at san ramon valley high school are dealing with the loss of one of their own. around 145 tuesday afternoon, students and teachers preparing for a p-e class in san ramon valley high school's pool found a 15-year-old male student underwater in the deep end of the pool. riley bergstedt was in the class, he says several students and teachers jumped in to help.sot our teacher ran and helped

them get out of the pool and then did cpr with him along with the students.another teacher called 911 and paramedics arrive within minutes.sotpossible student in the pool. coco county is onscene with cpr in progress. the student was tranpsorted to the kaiser hospital in walnut creek but tuesday afternoon the school said that he had passed away. police are now investigating but have not yet said how or why the young man was in the pool.as news of his death spread, many students came to leave flowers at a growing memorail on campus. several students told us that the young man, who's name has not yet been released, was a good student and a kind person. sotit's hard to think he's here one second and then hes not.sothe was a good student and i think he was a good person.the principal at san ramon valley high school said on tuesday that there will be counselors on campus wednesday to support staff and students. (chuck) well, the sun has set but students continue to arrive here to pay their respects.

governor of california... george deukmejian... has died the rebulican governor served from 1983 to 1991.he ran a law-and-order administration - expanding the state prison system... while supporting tough, anti- crime legislation. he died today of natural causes. he was 89. (pam) in the east bay -- for the first time ever, researchers found, public school students are bearing the cost of the rapid expansion of charter schools in oakland, and other districts schools throughout california. their analysis revealed, the expansion of charter schools has led to 15-hundred dollars less funding available, for every child enrolled in an oakland neighborhood public school... or more than 57- million dollars annually. the report says, the san diego school district and santa clara county's east side union high school district .... are also financially affected. reports say, the california charter schools act... does not allow school boards to consider how a charter school may impact a

district's other educational programs or fiscal health, when weighing new charter applications. this leads to cuts in core services.. such as counseling, libraries, and special education ... and leads to increased class sizes at neighborhood public schools. (pam) beginning thursday -- some of the people who are homeless in oakland, will be moving out of their tents and into community cabins.(ken) this will be the second location in oakland for this type of housing. the first is set up at sixth and castro. this new location is at 47th and northgate.(pam) as kron 4's michelle kingston reports -- this is an effort by the city of oakland to clean up the streets ... and to help homeless people find housing. the race for governor is heating up and tonight, the top 6 candidates faced off at the california theatre in san jose. (pam) this is possibly the last debate before the june 5th primary, and a number of issues impacting californians were addressed. (ken) kron 4's ali reid reports from downtown san jose ... where candidates used the 90 minute debate to help them inch closer to a win. the candidates stuck to the issues at hand. they discussed housing, transportation, the environment immigration, education and children.pkg housing is a big problem in the bay area, and candidates

our skies today. low clouds and fog were very stubborn at the coast and kept temperatures much cooler there. it was still sunny elsewhere but the temperatures cooled a little compared to yesterdays highs. you can see some showers moving into northern california today while we see more clouds in the bay area. you can see the storm on the satellite image. it's falling apart as it approaches the coast. it will likely help deepen the marine layer which means more low clouds and fog and coastal drizzle. wednesday will begin mostly cloudy before seeing partial clearing in the afternoon. temperatures will also be cooler too with highs at the coast in the 50s, 60s around the bay and mid 70s in the warmest inland locations. high pressure will then begin to build on thursday bringing

a special moment captured in a texas airport...as a soldier watches the birth of his daughter via facetime. (pam) soldier - brooks lindsey was trying to make it home to mississippi for the birth of his daughter, but just as he was about to get on the plane .. his flight was delayed. another passenger captured the picture of lindsey seeing his daughter for the first time. that's when airport personnel let him sit and watch... until it was over. lindsey and his wife say, they feel extremely grateful they could share this moment. but there's a lot of people who don't get to come home or don't get to see their kid

time at the rainbow market on sunday afternoon. manny cota says, he found a nine- year-old girl in tears, after she was reportedly forced into a vehicle. cota's wife comforted the young girl .... while cota confronted the suspected kidnapper who was still in the parking lot. he says, the woman said she made a mistake .... and then took off. police arrested the suspect a short time later, along with a man, who they believe was working with her. the cotas say, they are thankful they were there to help... and they are proud of the girl for escaping. lived on the 5th floor, and had been left home alone by her mother. the girl tried to get out through the window, she fell and was dangling outside the window on the fifth floor, clinging onto a guardrail. two local residents were able to reach out through an adjacent window and save the girl.
