california.sotcalifronia is not only earthquake country, it's volcano country too.dr. margaret mangan runs the california volcano observatory at the us geologival survey. she says that while there is not currently an active volcano in california, another eruption is inevitable.soti would say that, yes, it will happen here.maybe not in our lifetimes.across california there are 7 volcanoes with the potential to erupt.the medicine lake volcano in modoc county, mt shasta to the west, lassen volcanic national park. . which errupted about 100 years ago. . the long valley volcanic region near mamoth lakes, the coso volcanic fields in eastern california and the salton buttes near the mexican border. the closest volcanic activity to the bay area is the clear lake volcanic field in sonoma and lake counties. dr. mangan says the usgs monitors these 7 sites and that at least some of them have the potential to erupt, just like the hawaiian volcanoe. . or possibly even worse.sotsome have that style

(pam) in the south bay... a council member is facing allegations of sexual misconduct... and tonight, the city of santa clara confirms, potential victims have filed reports with police... council member dominic caserta... is accused of harassement and inappropriate behavior.. dating back more than a decade. according to reports, a personnel file for caserta was sent to the staff at santa clara unified school district on monday. the file, which has since been removed, apparently showed that caserta has faced multiple allegations of sexual misconduct during his career as a teacher. caserta has

climber in yosemite last week. the adventurist planned a daylong climb, but halfway through, fell and broke both legs.(ken) it took some time, but he's now back in the bay area, and back to work. kron 4's ali reid joins us live from concord tonight.how is he back in motion with 2 broken legs? it's difficult for hans florine to stay still.so although he's wheelchair bound, he continues to get around as much as he can.pkga week after falling from el capitan in yosemite, hans florine is back to managing diablo rock gym in concord. i've got this crazy sit and wait mode right now.the lifelong hiker knows it could be a dangerous sport, but in 35 years of climbing ... he's never needed rescue ... until last thursday.i fell 20 feet right here, came down 200 feet. the rescuers lowered from the top and pulled me out. i slept the night on top and the next morning a helicopter took me out. my partner abe had to sleep on a tower a couple feet below us and the next morning he had to

repel to the ground.hans has done that same climb more than 100 times before ... but this time, something was amiss.i had a piece at my ankles, and i reached up and put this piece in, tested it, it felt ok, i unclipped my foot, and when i put al lmy weight on it it went out. his safety rope caught him, but not before he hit a ledge 20 feet below and was about to fall even further. he's been a great sport the entire time.my left ankle, fib tib, and my right heel bone shattered into a bunch of pieces i've never had to deal with anything more weird than this. these go right to my tibia to keep it in place. these go into my ankle bone. i can't wiggle my toes too much because they're stuck to these bars. hans is now waiting for the swelling to go down before surgery next week.he'll probably be in a wheelchair for months.if i'd have jumped out even a foot and half i would've missed that ledge.standupit may be a year before his legs are back to anywhere near normal.hans tells me he intends to climb again ... but he'll be even more cautious than he's ever been.reporting live in concord ... ali reid ... kron 4 news. the justice system has failed her family. no criminal charges will be filed after a 1-year-old boy was beaten at an indianapolis day care in april."i'm not stopping until justice is served for my son. my son cannot walk. he can not talk," said jesse's mom tiffany griffin.the marion county prosecutor's office reviewed the case involving the 1- year-old, who had cuts to his face after the april 30 incident at kiddiegarden day care at 38th street and oxford. the boy's mother, tiffany griffin, says she learned that no charges would be filed after the review. "these scars that our family has to deal with every time we look at him. no one is being held accountable," said griffin.griffin said she picked baby jesse up from the facility and noticed his injuries. the staff told her that another child had injured him, but griffin didn't believe it. curry confirmed evidence didn't warrant charges and the child's injuries were consistent with the staff's account of events. "he is traumatized and he has been hitting his head against walls. he has been hitting himself. he has been crying," said griffin.the worker on duty at the time was fired, and the family and social services administration ordered the daycare closed on may 2. the worker cooperated during the investigation, curry said.the fssa also found several violations at the facility following an inspection, including lack of supervision, no drug screen completed for a caregiver and child abuse not immediately reported by a caregiver.the fssa says the decision to not

year-old university of southern california student set out on a mission to find the woman who made her life possible .... by donating an egg. it took some time ... but she did just that.
