brush fires on a windy day are keeping crews busy...(pam) firefighters are battling several grass fires this evening. they are burning near the byron highway in the altamont area of alameda county. according to calfire...flames have destroyed about 500 acres, and at least one structure. officials are in the process of closing the highway from camino diablo ... to the alameda county line. we'll have more details in a live report with kron 4's ali reid at 8:30 tonight.ali reid at 8:30 tonight. beautiful day all the way to the coast today. it was hot inland with temperatures soaring into the 90s. even at the coast it wias nice with highs there in the 60s and low 70s. we'll see a little sea breeze tonight but overall offshore winds continue into tomorrow. it will be a very mild well into the evening and only cooling into the 50s and 60s by early morning. on the satellite you can see high pressure over the state bringing us the sunshine. it will bring another day of sunny weather but we may see a few patches of fog late in the day with cooler temperatures at the beach. it will still be hot inland tomorrow with highs in the upper 80s and low 90s, 70s and 80s around the bay and 60s at the coast. it will become much cooler with windy weather on wednesday and thursday with highs as much as 30 degrees cooler. high pressure will return on friday to warm us up into the weekend with mostly sunnu skies. issued a fraud alert for nba finals tickets. the team said last year during the finals, it saw more fake tickets .. than any other playoff series in the past. and because of that ... disappointed fans were rejected entry to the game. kron 4's gabe slate joins us live from the newsroom with moregabe it's a bucket list item for a lot of people. a dream to attend the nba finals.the warriors don't want to turn anyone away who has dropped a ton of money.. so the team wants people to know that every regular season game there are fans rejected entry for fake tickets.and that number spikes a lot higher during the finals. warriors team officials say 20 to 50 fans a game during the regular season are denied entry to oracle arena due to counterfeit tickets over 800 fans showed up with fake tickets just this past regular seasonduring last year's finals the number of

(ken) a former flight school employee is speaking out about what she witnessed in her short time as a dispatcher for the redding flight school in shasta county. this comes after a pilot was arrested for allegedly kidnapping a flight school student. courtney kreiber reports. a former iasco employee is speaking out about what she witnessed in her short time as a dispatcher for the redding flight school. the former employee wants to remain anonymous but said when she heard the audio file that included multiple threats, one coming from iasco instructor, john mcconkey, the other from the flight school's director of administration kelsi hoser, it sounded all too familiar. "sounds like the language they use in the dispatch office," the woman said adding she started looking for work after two months because of the way they treated the students. it was friday, may 25 when redding police officers say mcconkey and hoser went to student, tianshu shi's apartment and told him he was being sent back to china. when

in washington state is being recognized for his very own dog rescue operation.(pam) the operation is called 'project freedom ride'... and it has saved more than one thousand dogs. it started when roman mcconn was four years old.... and saw a dog adoption event while living in texas. his mother says, he asked her why they were there... and that's when roman's curiousity sparked his action... they started making videos of dogs who needed homes so they can

woman's body has been found in a stairwell at san francisco general hospital...and tonight we are learning she was a patient who had been reported missing for the last ten days...(grant) thanks for joining us, i'm grant lodes... (vicki) and i'm vicki liviakis... this is isn't the first time this kind of situation has happened at san francisco general hospital... kron4's charles clifford is live at the hospital tonight with details on this investigation and how it is similar to case from five years ago, charles? the body was discoverd around 1 this afternoon in the stairway of a power plant building on the hospital campus.we now know that the victim was 76-year-old ruby

lee anderson. she was a dementia patient here at the hosptial and she was reported missing from sf general mental health back on may 20th. the san francisco department of public health, the sheriff's department and the police department are all investigating this case. it's unclear how anderson was able to gain access to the power building, which is not normally a place patients go. this afternoon we were able to speak with anderson's daughter on the phone and she says the family is very upset.now, if this a;; sound familiar it's because back in october of 2013, the body of 57-year-old lynne spalding was also found in a stairwell here at sf general. she had died from dehydration and complications from liver disease.in that case, investiators ultimately found that hospital staff and the sheriff's department were to blame as for what happened in this case the san francisco department of public health, the sheriff's department and the police department are all involved in an ongoing investigation.in san francisco, charels clifford kron 4 news.
