(pam) firefighters are making progress against the massive county fire .... burning in yolo and napa counties since saturday.. you can see where the fire is burning in yolo county.. and napa county-- near lake berryessa. here is where things stand tonight. the county fire has burned 72-thousand acres. it is now 15 -percent contained. mandatory evacuations are still in place. and 980- structures are still threatened. kron-4's michelle kingston reports from napa, where people say, they are ready to go at a moment's notice.

(ken) the pawnee fire... burning in lake county.. is now 85- percent contained. that fire has burned 15- thousand acres. and destroyed 22 structures. 50 more structures are still threatened tonight. but all evacuation orders have been lifted. a group of bystangers stepped into help when a woman's leg became caught between an orange line train and the platform. a police report said the severe laceration on the woman's leg left her bone exposed.one person stood behind her for support, while another held a cold water bottle against her leg. meanwhile a group of at least ten other people pushed on the train car, edging it back just enough to get her leg out. bystanders then wrapped her leg.transit authorities say the gap between the train and platform was five inches. otto halafihi attacked 93- year-old ann peterson and her 64 year-old caretaker, at a bank near the sun valley mall in concord. peterson was pushed to the ground, and her purse was taken.she suffered major injuries.. and was hospitalized. last week, she died. halafihi is behind bars charged with robbery and elder abuse.the district attorney's offices says, it plans to add murder charges when he returns to court july 17th. bay area skies. poor air quality will continue for the central and southern san joaquin valley. on the satellite a low pressure system in the gulf of alaska will move south off the coast by tomorrow. that will bring stronger onshore winds and increase the amount of moisture in the atmosphere which should slow bay area fires. with a more westerly wing we can expect improving air quality and cooler temperatures for the 4th of july. it will likely be foggy along the coast and inside the bay for fireworks while remaining mostly clear inland. highs tomorrow will be cooler and in the 70s inland with 50s and 60s at the coast and 60s and 70s around the bay. it will begin to warm on thursday. friday will be partly cloudy with remnants from a former hurricane moving
