a ride-share driver will face criminal charges. prosecutors say they will be charging orlando lazo, who was arrested on thursday. federal immigration officials say lazo is in the country illegally...but would not say if they had prior contact with him. we also learned that lazo was actually employed by lyft. in a statement to kron4, lyft says it immediately deactivated lazo after the allegations came to light. they did not say how long lazo has been driving for them. so far, four women have come forward with allegations. police say d- n-a evidence has linked lazo to an attack in 20-13, and 3 recent sexual assaults in february, may and june of this year. (ken) a wildfire burning near yosemite doubled in size overnight. the so called "ferguson fire" is burning in mariposa county. it has scorched more than 9-thousand acres and is just two-percent contained. yosemite park officials say all trails, campgrounds, restaurants and lodges are open... but smoke is creating poor air quality. and safety officials are investigating the death of a firefighter while battling the fire. (ken) that firefighter was 36 year old braden varney. he died while operating a bulldozer. he was a second- generation firefighter and had served with the california department of forestry and fire protection for ten years. he is survived by his wife and two children. temporarily halted deportations of families who have been recently reunited (ken) that after the a-c-l-u filed paperwork saying its attorneys were concerned about rumors of "mass deportations" government lawyers have one week to respond to those concerns. the judge will then make a permanent ruling after going over the paperwork. the trump administration has said it completed reunifying all eligible children under five. and reunifying families with older children is happening on a rolling basis. new tonight at 8. an update on the condition of john whiting, the veteran battalion chief of the alameda county fire department, who was viciously bitten on the face by a pit bull at the scene of a house fire. (ken) 19 dogs in total were found inside the house, 2 of them died in the san leandro fire. kron 4's gabe slate spoke with a fellow firefighter who just visited whiting in the hospital and gabe spoke with investigators to find out what is happening to the dogs. on saturday a house fire broke out at 16011 maubert avenue, which is in an unincorporated area of alameda county near san leandro. no people were hurt. 2 dogs died in the fire, one adult male pit bull, and 16 other dogs, mostly puppies were found in the fire and rescued. alameda county fire officials say 20

(ken) a woman who officials say was kidnapped from fresno and sexually assaulted got away from her captors by convincing them to let her use the bathroom. (grant) last wednesday she walked into a waterford gas station and asked the first person she saw for help. the cashier savannah pritchett acted quickly. she took the woman to the bathroom and locked the door. pritchett called the police and told the victim not to come out until they showed up. the woman's first words made her realize just how serious the situation was. (sot)savannah pritchett/cashier: "the first thing she did tellwas, 'i was kidnapped and they do have guns. please lock the door. they will kill us or kill me.' so it was kind of like, okay, well, all right." (grant) deputies arrived... guns drawn and stormed the store. inside, they got 18-year- old anthony sandoval on the ground and arrested him. two 16-year-olds were also arrested. a gun was found inside the suspects' car, and another... in the store.

pritchett says she hasn't been able to stop thinking about the woman and says she was just trying to do the right thing. (ken) a florida man receives the surprise of his life. it came in the form of a letter -- addressed to him but intended for someone else. michael joseph neely says he likes to follow the rules and the laws. which is why this letter from the state of florida's department of highway safety and motor vehicles shocked him. it said his driver's license was suspended. the suspension is a result of a felony conviction connected to a ádifferentá man. according to the polk county sheriff's office website, neely's information is wrongly attached to another man with the same first and last name. "it is hard on you i mean when you discover all of the sudden you are a felon and you have never done anything wrong that is hard to swallow and it is just hard to deal with it really is." (ken) neely has not gotten behind the wheel since friday -- afraid to drive with an incorrectly suspended license. the polk county sheriff's office is aware of the issue.
