evacuations and road closures are in effect for butte county after flash flooding hit the burn areas. rescue teams were deployed in the afternoon to rescue people from three homes on horse run lane... which is a low lying area below paradise near highway 99. officials in butte county ordering people to stay away from their homes because a high amount of rain could cause mudslides. officials sya they will re- evaulate the conditions this morning to see if they can lift evacuation orders. ( james ) in the east bay ... the heavy rain from yesterday's storm forced a few trees down across the bay area. over saturation and poor up-keep led this old oak tree to topple over on richmond boulevard in oakland. it ended up landing on a car parked in the driveway...(ááá zoom out cam 1ááá)the downed tree also knocked out some power lines... leaving several neighbors without electricity. more storms are on the way.

napa police released surveillance video in hoopes of finding james faulkenberry... pictured here. two weeks ago faulkenberry and juan rojas attacked a woman at the bar. rojas turned himself into police shortly affter the attack. ( darya ) on the peninsula... a car thief has been arrested after trying to hide from deputies in a creek. here a picture from san mateo sheriff's office. deupties did not provide the identification of the man but say he was wanted for car thefts from wednesday night and yesterday morning. deputies say after ditching a fourth stolen car... this man attempted to hide from officers in the creek by the ritz carlton. he was arrested shortly after dupties found him. ( james ) in the east bay... off-duty c-h-p officers were able to detain a man after he ran away from a hit-and-run. here is a picture of the driver officers said hit multple cars on eastboudn 80 near central

avenue. the driver's car did overturn... he was able to escape the car and attempted to run away. the officers began running after the driver and were able to arrest him a short time later. the driver had minor injureis from the accident and was treated at a local hospital. he has been booked into the santa rita jail. ( james ) dublin officers have made an arrest in multiple home burlgaries in the area of oak knoll drive. polcie arrested 25-year-old wade rawlings in castro valley on wednesday. police say the suspect enetered unlocked cars and stole property and then gained access to the garage by using garage door openers from the cars. during the investigation officers located a gmc truck they believed was connected to the thefts. officers attmepted to stop the truck but it fled at a high rate of speed. a few days later officers located the gmc truck in dublin... the truck was empty but had sotlen proerty inside. police were then able to locate rawlings and arrested him. season got off to a late start and we've only seen signifigant moisture for about a week now but there are early signs that the resevoirs could be filling up.natsthursday afternoon the spillway below lake lagunitas in marin county was gushing with water.nats until earlier this week, the spillway had been dry for months. the return of rain has sent water gushing down the slopes of mount tamalpais, filling up the reservoirs.nats despite some lingering showers, it was also a good day for neighbors like roland hannes to hike around the lakes.sotyeah. it's great. great for us. great for the animals.as of right now, the reservoirs of the marin munipal water district are at about 72% of full capacity. that's slightly more water than there was at the same time last year.by comparison, the east bay municipal utility

morning. officers were responding to a welfare check at the home.. but before the arrived the call was updated to a stabbing. the stabbing victim... a man... was dead at the scene. police also found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. he was taken to the hospital with life threatening injuries. a neighbor says the home belongs to an elderly couple who lived there with their adult son. police have not released the names of victims. ( darya )(ááá2 shotááá) in national headlines ... two men who robbed a t-mobile store in norman, oklahoma were quickly arrested ... thanks to some employees who outsmarted them.( james ) take a look at the surveillance video. two masked men walked into the t-mobile ... and forced two employees into the backroom. that's where police say, the employees were ordered to fill a trash bag full of pricey electronics. the robbers left the store with the items ... but did not know they were still being tracked. gavin newsom visited the u-s mexcio border ato asses the growing immigration crisis. newsom spoke in san ysidro yesterday talking about the issues after a large group of central american migrants gathered in tijuana. the refugee camp is overflowing with migrants waiting to seek asylum in the u-s. mexican officials say more than 58-hundred people are now livinig there. tijuana's mayor says it's a crisis and is calling for humanitarian aid. newsom addressed the issue and how its impacting california.

with respect - there is a flippant comment about something on the border it impacts the economy and lives of hundreds of thousands of people who are reliant on that trade in commerce on a daily basis.>( james ) newsom also toured the otay mesa immigration detention center... and met with groups advocating for the asylum seekers. today newsom will meet with mexican officials in mexico city. ( james ) overnight three people died and another eight were injured after a high- speed border patrol chases ended in a crash near san deigo. c-h-p says the truck had two people in the front of the trcuk and another nine in the bed. the truck was fleeing from customs and border protection agents at a high rate of speed. a truck hit a pike strip... rolled over and drove into an embankmant. it happened on interstate 8 in southeastern san diego county less than 10 miles from the u-s mexico. after the crash... the driver was placed into border patrol custody. a woman seen on surveillance video burning several items in a store with hairspray and a lighter. it happened last week in philadelphia . police say the woman is still out there... but once they do find her she will be charged with arson... it's unclear why the woman did this -- but officials believe she was a "disgruntled customer."
