the man killed by a falling tree in a homeless encampment has been identified. police say 42-year-old anthony rippey was killed near the ardley avenue overpass at i- 580 in oakland. officials say the tree came down during the storm wednesday night. ( darya )p-g-and-e is asking customers to be patient ... as it works to fully restore power across the bay area. the utility says it has more than 200 lineman working around the clock to turn the lights back on. p-g-and-e was able to get most of the power restored during the day yesterday. but the biggest problem right now is being able to get equipment and manpower to the more remote areas.
