i'm live here at international terminal at s-f- o where most of the passengers have spent the last couple hours looking for an alternative flight after their plane to new york was diverted here.passengers tell me thats because a flight attendeant died w over the pacific ocean.people say it the other flight attendants seemed emotional, but didn't say what was going on - they did make an announcement asking for any doctors on the plane to come to the front.c-p-r was given to the flight attendant, but the person was pronounced dead on the plane.it was then announced that instead of heading to j-f-k they would make a stop in san francisco. there passengers waited two hours as a medical examiner came aboard and removed the body.hawaiian then made an annoucement that passengers should go get their bags and book a new flight to new york but since the airline doesn't fly from s-f-o to j-f-k they had to go to other airlines...some passengers paying nearly two thousand dollars.i spoke with one passenger who explained how they started to realize it was a flight attendant who died and not another passenger.sot

f-b-i has arrested long-time trump associate roger stone for lying and obstructing justice. we have video of the moment f-b-i arrested him at his home in florida this morning. take a look. stone was arrested in special counsel rober mueller's russia investigation and was charged with lying to congress and obstructing the probe. the seven-count indictment against stone is the first criminal case in months from mueller. it provides the most detail to date about how trump campaign associates were aware in the summer of 2016 that emails had been stolen from the hillary clinton campaign and wanted them released. it alleges

trump campaign officials contacted stone to ask when the stolen emails might be disclosed. the charges against stone include obstruction of justice, five counts of giving false statements and one count of witness tampering. a judge has set a $250,000 bond for stone. ( james ) breaking news this morning --- the government shutdown is affecting flights at three major airports: lagaurdia, newark and philadelphia. there is a ground stop right now at laguardia airport and the delays are spanding several hours in some cases. the f-a-a has said that all three airports are experiencing these delays because of a shortage in air if you are traveling out this morning, you may want to check if your flight is being impacted.

( darya ) happening today... hundreds of thousands of federal workers are missing their 2nd paycheck as the government shutdown stretches into its 35th day. the senate had two chances to end the shutdown yesterday... but failed to reach an agreement. kron 4's washington correspondent mark meredith is in d-c with the latest. the senate voted down two bills that could have ended the government shutdown. lawmakers were split over the two proposals.the first ...backed by the president, most gop senators, and w-v democrat joe manchin ....would have spent five billion dollars wall."a vote for the president's plan is an endorsement of government by extortion."senate democratic leader chuck schumer supported the second bill...which would have re-opened the government for two weeks...and provided time to debate border security...and while both bills failed...president trump appeared satisified with the outcome...for now."so we did very well the republicans held except for two" an associated press poll shows 60% of americans blame president

( james )also happening today ... t-s-a workers will rally at the oakland airport ... to call for an end to the government shutdown. the rally will happen at noon ... and the t-s-a workers will be joined by impacted federal workers from all over the bay area. ( darya ) in the south bay... the san jose city council unanimously approved a plan thursday to provide short-term, interest-free loans to federal employees at the san jose airport. the loans will be available for about 500 employees including air traffic controllers... t-s-a employees and customs and border protection officers. the loans will start

accruing interest 2 weeks after the employees receive bback pay when the shutdown ends. ( darya ) another big story. cal fire says p-g&e is not to blame for the cause of the deadly tubbs fire. the fire claimed the lives of 22 people in lives of 22 people in october of 20-17. cal fire investigators say the fire started on a private property on bennett lane in calistoga. they say the fire sparked from an independent electrical system not operated by pg&e. from there the fire spread in napa, lake and sonoma counties. it is know for destroying the coffey park and fountain grove neighborhoods. despite hearing the results of the cal fire report ... people who lost their homes are still holding pge accountable. < i cant worry about pge is or isnt but maybe it will change the system.i feel pge has not been taking care of business there is a history of not taking care of their lines and transformers properly.>( darya

) pg&e has announced plans to file for bankruptcy at the end of the month ... citing the 30 billion dollars it faces in liability. the tubbs fire accounted for 17 billion of that. governor gavin newsom says its still up to pg&e to decide whether the utility will file for ( darya ) coming up... east bay police say they've solved a cold case homicide that's decades old. details on the arrest... after the break. ( darya ) new this morning... facebook c-e-o mark zuckerberg is joining other companies to raise 500-million dollars to help with the bay area housing crisis. they are launching a new investment fund to help with the lack of affordable housing. so far the group has already raised 260 million dollars and is looking for more partners. according to the wall street journal... the group is hoping to build at least 8-thousand homes in five bay area counties over the next 10 years. ( darya ) now to a cold case that has finally been solved... an arizona man is behind bars, arrested for murdering a fremont man 28 years ago. kron-4's dan kerman explains how dna

technology helped. in december of 1990 the body of 30 year old fremont resident jack upton was was found in his tyson lane apartment... police say he was beaten and stabbed to death. police say fingerprints and blood not belonging to upton were collected from the home. a week after the body was discovered... police found upton's missing car 350 miles away in thousand oakes. blood was also found inside, that matched the blood found in the home... when dna testing became available, they hoped to find a suspect but did not . sot det. jacob blass/fremont policebut fremont police continued to search ... and in 2016 the department created a cold case unit which continued the investigation. then last year the arrest of the golden state killer shed light on new dna technology. fremont police shipped their dna evidence to the same lab... it was processed adn compared against existing genealogical dna profiles... and produced a potential suspect.. this man russell guerrero, now living in arizona.sot fremont police tracked guerrero to an italian

putting officers and the public in danger. back inthe superior court in santa clara county changed to a new court case management system. san jose police say there were issues with the software. now more than 25-hudred people with criminal warrants have not been ordered to court. police say that is putting officers and the community at risk. today ... members of the san jose police officer's association plan to call for the state auditor to conduct a full investigation. ( james ) even though food stamp customers recieved benefits early ... officials say families should spend it wisely and try to make it last through the end of february. down on fare evaders... by stepping up patrols. officers were spotted at the embarcadero service officers to check for valid fares on trains, platforms and landings. after determining they are losing 15 to 25 million dolalrs a year by people not paying for they have no discretion in checking tickets --- meaning they check every rider. if you're caught skipping a bart fare... you're looking at a fine of up to 75- dollars. children and teens will pay a fine of 55-bucks. petrified after a road rage incident that happened for no apparent reason. and it was all caught on camera. you can see the man get out of his car... jump on the woman's car and smash the windshield with his fist. this happened in anaheim. the woman says the man followed her out of a parking lot and into the middle of the street. he cut her off and forced her to stop. that is when he jumped on her car and broke the window. she doesn't know why he did it. police are now looking for that man. ( james ) while there are no storms in the bay area right now --- arborists are still responding to damage caused by the last batch of strong wind and rain. they are going around pleasant hill identifying trees that could pose problems in future storms. the tell people to look for things like: weakened or split roots, constricted trunks, or any thing else that place.
