newspapers report bloomberg is the democrat trump fears most. as president, universal healthcare that lets people keep their coverage if they like it. a record on job creation. a doable plan to combat climate change. i led a complex, diverse city through 9-11 and i have common sense plans to move america away from chaos to progress! i'm mike bloomberg and i approve this message.
are you kidding me? the heart and soul of this party is diversity. when a kid succeeds in columbia, south carolina - in las vegas, nevada - that is a triumph for every american. people don't know tom steyer. i've known tom steyer for fifteen years. his commitment on racial justice and social justice is rock solid. i'm tom steyer and i approve this message. >>and welcome back to the kron 4 morning news and thanks for staying with us checking in on the forecast hopefully more on nice sunny conditions today it's tough to yeah we're keeping the sunshine around for a another day. >>we do have some changes in the forecast but mostly for surrounding areas, the bay area. we're just sitting in this nice little window of sun for a while that's fine. i know we need rain but we enjoy the sunshine is well, yeah, the sunshine's certainly has been nice of intention that february 10 maybe as you can stepping outside looking out
there berkeley this morning certainly no 10 going on just yet but we are looking at clear conditions no fog not a whole lot of cloud cover that we're seeing at least perceptible on this map and what you are seeing for clouds is sitting well above the bait, none of that low cloud cover like you had been seeing the past couple of days as for that high pressure ridge and sitting to our north and it's partly responsible for why this low pressure area is going to be starting to our south and in the process of doing so. >>what you have there are some showers that will impact southern california. so here's that line of showers sitting offshore this thursday morning you're going to notice them, pushing a little further south from the base we're going to pick up some cloud cover from this at times today and then especially on and your friday, but look what happens for southern california first the central coast on into tomorrow night is going to see some light showers and widespread areas of rainfall begin to push into southern california come early saturday morning from the mexican out towards the deserts of eastern california and on up into the
very southern part of the bay at areas like santa cruz could pick up some very light rainfall at times but it's really just the southern part of the bay that's going to be tapping into that moisture bay area itself really and narrowly to because it's going to be some widespread rainfall to our south. rainfall that they certainly need but we could also use some of that up here in the bay area too skies will begin to clear out by sunday and then even southern california will be looking at a dry finish the weekend around the corner as for today, daytime highs eventually in the 60's to low 70's for just a couple of areas among them san jose right at 70 degrees hayward fremont napa santa rosa conquered upper 60's. oakland and san francisco in the mid 60's for highs today. here's a breakdown of your next 7 days today and tomorrow temperatures not changing much of course friday we do have those cloudier skies and then saturday while the rest of the state is looking at some showers bay area actually see
some pretty sunny conditions it will be a touch cooler though come saturday and sunday, a breezy start to next week on monday and tuesday with some brisk winds before temperatures rise quickly into the 70's for some spots by wednesday of next week, a problem all right thank you let's check in on traffic heading back to the south bay where crews are still. >>investigating a fatal crash early this morning in the 2 o'clock hour. this is where a driver spot out ran off the road. the vehicle caught fire. we know that one person in that vehicle did not survive most of the activity is contained to the shoulder but for now there is nothing block that doesn't mean that crews start arriving to the scene so just be onbrakes as you're passing through. but once you pass a jackson just north of that stretch is going to be a nice trip leaving san jose continuing into milpitas and up towards tunnel so no other problems that you have to worry about or throughout
the south bay, a 17 to 81 a one to 37 all doing just fine with no other trouble spots, the bridges are looking good too there's a little bit of a backup that starting to grow here at the bay bridge toll plaza some only in the cash lanes on the right side other than that it's going to be great trip coming in now is the time to get on out there 8 minutes for your average to fremont street. this is what want to cross the golden gate and we have the maintenance work under way northbound heading out of san francisco. you see the flashing lights and bridge crews, they're still doing there. jobs, one lane open, but it's not interrupting traffic and then southbound on the left are doing fine heading into san francisco at 19 minutes all right off to the richmond sandra fell another good commute here crossing the bay into the north bay 7 minutes, quick right on time to make it off to want to one and then traffic tracker has nothing but good news for the east shore for 24 west walnut creek to the caldecott the 5 and the nimitz doing just fine at under 15 minutes to downtown oakland will check more coming up in a bit.
>>look what's happened to san francisco. so sad. >>what's happened when you see a slum where it's a slum its worst a sub there's no slum like that what they've done to san francisco is a crying shame. and something that well some pretty harsh words from president trump about san francisco. he slammed the city over its homeless problem. >>during a speech in bakersfield, he made a similar comment about los angeles tuesday while attending a briefing with the 2028 summer olympics committee. he now says that if both cities on fixed or homeless crisis his administration will step in to make california's homelessness crisis was the center of the governors governor newsome state of the state address. the governor called on the state to lower the bar for force mental health care saying the current standard is just too high and contributing to the state's crisis. the governor both said that 286 state properties are now
available at shelters and he also said that 5 more cities and counties ranging from santa clara. 2 riverside are next to get emergency tents and trailers. a disgrace. but the richest state in the richest nation. >>succeeding across so many sectors is falling so far behind to properly house. he'll and humanely treat so many of its own people. >>well the price tag on the governor's proposed homelessness plan is at million. the final count on how much all of this could cause will be finalized in may. we have a special section dedicated to the issue of homelessness right here in the bay area on kron 4 dot com and on the kron 4 mobile app so check it out just look under the news tab and then click on san francisco homelessness. well happening today, roger stone the sentence and a number of crimes in washington d c. the head of the department of justice says that the president's tweets on this matter have only made
things harder john lawrence reports. >>president trump's former informal adviser roger stone leaving fort lauderdale wednesday on his way to washington to receive his sentence following his convictions late last year we convicted him of obstructing a congressional inquiry. >>of lying in that inquiry of of tampering with a witness stone confirming last year that he still backs president trump at this point. federal prosecutors called for a 7 to 9 year prison sentence. but president trump thought that was too harsh tweeting it was a miscarriage of justice. hours later attorney general william barr called for the sentence to be reduced that move resulted in all 4 federal prosecutors withdrawing from the case and it may have been the final straw for barr i do make his job harder i do agree with that i think that's true. >>a source close to the
situation tells cnn that barr has considered stepping down because of president trump's involvement in justice department matters i don't know if any of this press reports are all i know is what the department of justice has said which that there are no plans return don't believe i'm john lawrence reporting. >>still ahead on the kron 4 morning news with 5 more people possibly infected with coronavirus in the bay area the fight to contain the outbreak break remains a top priority. what lawmakers are saying about this coming up next. peek outside before we go we are expecting some nice weather today, stay tuned for the forecast was a live look at the golden gate, some flashing lights, it's just routine maintenance work on the way northbound so don't panic will have the hollywood minute coming up after the

my sons were in their teens. when i came home from prison so i got involved in juvenile justice, i didn't want them to go through the same thing i went through. michael bloomberg created the young men's initiative. in helping keep other young men and young women from entering into the criminal justice system. and we see it, we see it in young people being employed. we see young people being removed out the system. running for president, what better platform for him to speak about real justice, real reform. i'm mike bloomberg and i approve this message.
