on friday, but still no chances of rainfall for the bay just yet looking outside at the golden gate bridge. it is nice and clear there isn't any fog out there currently conditions are nice and clear with maximum visibility all across the bay area right now temperatures are in the 40's and low 50's for just a couple spots like san francisco, while some 30's begin to be seen up in napa petaluma and fairfield expecting some of those upper 30's and dublin livermore this morning 2 out in the inland the space so it is a frigid morning temperatures this afternoon certainly not going to be cold though in fact a little bit warmer than yesterday daytime highs rise into the low 70's for a couple spots most of us mid to upper 60's today. so another comfortable one a few clouds out there today that you'll see passing through. >>still no chance of rain for us but i am breaking down the potential rainfall in southern california. and a look at your extended forecast all ahead back to robin all right, thank you so much on unfortunately we're tracking a fatal crash

that happened early this morning. >>in the 2 o'clock hour in san jose, this is northbound 6.80 right after the jackson avenue exit. this driver ran off the road crashed the vehicle caught fire and we know that at least one person in that vehicle did not survive so. crews are still on scene investigating this is northbound which is a counter commute directions so far everything is contained to the shoulder. there is nothing block but when you have an investigation like this things can change so be on the lookout for the activity. you may experience a minor slowdown off and on through the scene right now you're getting by without a delay once again this in san jose. this is northbound 6.80 right after the jackson avenue exit fatal accident still under investigation on the shoulder, your bridge us look good so the drive into san francisco, wide open right now at the bay bridge toll plaza you're looking at 8 minutes which is quicken right on time off to fremont street 92 smooth and at a limit to the peninsula. no problems for west 5 80 at the richmond sandra fell hot

sisters and pen to >>and just be furious, sounds a brother him. i'm sorry i just can't i feel so bad for fremont police say they arrested a 33 year-old transit jonathan anderson, every walked into the gym and headed straight for a group fitness class to sexually assault the victim a she was doing push-ups female is working out in a in a class of the gym. and she was attacked by a stranger should it and did not know. >>the suspect was a lot bigger than her he laid on top are her uses body weight to push her down and sexually assaulted her police say anderson pull down the victim's pants and she started screaming for help that's one of its merits and in the class stepped in and push anderson off of the victim employees and held on him until police arrived tax happened right different, you know kind of violent encounters robberies you don't expect to be violently sexually assaulted when you go to a neighborhood gym. >>this is not something normally happens in.

>>it's an atrocious act at the time police say anderson was on multiple for patients within the county. it has arrest outside of the county as well they arrested anderson for multiple felonies including battery and assault with the intent to commit oral copulation that police believe there may be more victims out there of anderson's so if you have any information they're asking that you get a hold of the police department. anderson is also scheduled to be in court thursday morning at 09:00am at east county hall of justice in dublin in fremont taylor the psac ii kron 4 news. >>we're getting a look at them and that the men involved in an assault that happened at the santa rosa transit center. a group of 7 to 8 men they attacked 3 other men to say. so police say that the attackers they were armed with a golf club and they hit the victim several times the got away in an older model white sedan the 3 victims were seriously hurt. well to the peninsula now 2 men are in custody after 10 auto burglaries and palo alto police spotted francisco front has in christopher me how my

trying to steal from a car in down a downtown parking garage. the driver was inside of the car at the time when officers searched their vehicles they found a loaded gun prescription drugs and also stolen property, including electronics purses and wallets. san francisco police say been pretty busy getting drugs off the street. they made at least 65 drug arrests in the last weeks of police confiscated backpacks full of drugs like heroin fentanyl cocaine meth an additional 8 drug dealers were arrested tuesday, most of the drugs or were found in the tenderloin experts say the drug overdoses are on the rise because it's just hard to tell the drugs apart. one woman says she's seen people overdose right in front of her on the street and san francisco. >>i think 2 people have given somebody cpr and i ran into the hotel and told the lady that a man was and she wouldn't get to she say what he didn't know the in the hotel's on not giving him on our team. >>and i couldn't believe it.

>>well police say that many of the drug dealers that they lock up are not considered violence. so they are released in a matter of days. another big story that we're following for you this morning, 2 people taken off the diamond princess cruise ship docked in japan have died from the coronavirus officials say that the man and woman they were in their 80's and they were from japan. the 2 were hospitalized in serious conditions and they also had existing chronic diseases. nearly 4,000 passengers and crew members have been quarantined for 2 weeks now 621 passengers tested positive for the virus and those who tested negative are still being allowed off the ship. worldwide over 2100 people have died now from the coronavirus more than 75,600 have been infected. while the overall spread of the virus has been slowing. the% situation remains severe and will be probably in the way way by province. well here in the bay area 5 more people are

now possibly infected bringing the total to 12 this comes after more. evacuees head home after a 2 week quarantine at travis air force base and fair feel we caught up with one evacuee before his flight from forcefully to call has reports. >>having been under federal quarantine the past 2 weeks, jeffrey host says he and the 3 other evacuees bust wednesday morning from travis air force base in fairfield to san francisco international airport to their latest adversity in stride when the bus broke down approaching the bay bridge unfold really weird to even be inside a bus precise so used to just. >>and not being a really call he says he's just happy to be headed back home to southern california after spending most of his days stuck in a hotel room at the air force base streaming movies and exercising when he could they only ask that you come and let them check your body temp twice a day and. >>they're just asked >>you have any of symptoms that they're talking about and

control the corona virus from spreading across the bay. there are no new cases and santa clara, but there are still 2 being treated. the health department says that they are also monitoring and keeping track of 300 people who recently returned from china to the county. like many large health departments across the every day we're getting the names of travelers returning from mainland china. >>these are flights that have sent through a few key airports in the we get the names contact the returning travelers and ensure that they're staying home for the 14 days since their last in china. >>well the health department says that there's not an increased risk to the residents of santa clara county. but because this is a new virus. they cannot predict just how long the virus might continue to spread. well make sure you stay with kron 4 as we continue our coverage on the coronavirus if you missed yesterday's surviving the coronavirus special report.

there berkeley this morning certainly no 10 going on just yet but we are looking at clear conditions no fog not a whole lot of cloud cover that we're seeing at least perceptible on this map and what you are seeing for clouds is sitting well above the bait, none of that low cloud cover like you had been seeing the past couple of days as for that high pressure ridge and sitting to our north and it's partly responsible for why this low pressure area is going to be starting to our south and in the process of doing so. >>what you have there are some showers that will impact southern california. so here's that line of showers sitting offshore this thursday morning you're going to notice them, pushing a little further south from the base we're going to pick up some cloud cover from this at times today and then especially on and your friday, but look what happens for southern california first the central coast on into tomorrow night is going to see some light showers and widespread areas of rainfall begin to push into southern california come early saturday morning from the mexican out towards the deserts of eastern california and on up into the

very southern part of the bay at areas like santa cruz could pick up some very light rainfall at times but it's really just the southern part of the bay that's going to be tapping into that moisture bay area itself really and narrowly to because it's going to be some widespread rainfall to our south. rainfall that they certainly need but we could also use some of that up here in the bay area too skies will begin to clear out by sunday and then even southern california will be looking at a dry finish the weekend around the corner as for today, daytime highs eventually in the 60's to low 70's for just a couple of areas among them san jose right at 70 degrees hayward fremont napa santa rosa conquered upper 60's. oakland and san francisco in the mid 60's for highs today. here's a breakdown of your next 7 days today and tomorrow temperatures not changing much of course friday we do have those cloudier skies and then saturday while the rest of the state is looking at some showers bay area actually see

some pretty sunny conditions it will be a touch cooler though come saturday and sunday, a breezy start to next week on monday and tuesday with some brisk winds before temperatures rise quickly into the 70's for some spots by wednesday of next week, a problem all right thank you let's check in on traffic heading back to the south bay where crews are still. >>investigating a fatal crash early this morning in the 2 o'clock hour. this is where a driver spot out ran off the road. the vehicle caught fire. we know that one person in that vehicle did not survive most of the activity is contained to the shoulder but for now there is nothing block that doesn't mean that crews start arriving to the scene so just be onbrakes as you're passing through. but once you pass a jackson just north of that stretch is going to be a nice trip leaving san jose continuing into milpitas and up towards tunnel so no other problems that you have to worry about or throughout

the south bay, a 17 to 81 a one to 37 all doing just fine with no other trouble spots, the bridges are looking good too there's a little bit of a backup that starting to grow here at the bay bridge toll plaza some only in the cash lanes on the right side other than that it's going to be great trip coming in now is the time to get on out there 8 minutes for your average to fremont street. this is what want to cross the golden gate and we have the maintenance work under way northbound heading out of san francisco. you see the flashing lights and bridge crews, they're still doing there. jobs, one lane open, but it's not interrupting traffic and then southbound on the left are doing fine heading into san francisco at 19 minutes all right off to the richmond sandra fell another good commute here crossing the bay into the north bay 7 minutes, quick right on time to make it off to want to one and then traffic tracker has nothing but good news for the east shore for 24 west walnut creek to the caldecott the 5 and the nimitz doing just fine at under 15 minutes to downtown oakland will check more coming up in a bit.
