is finally the day that we are going to be looking at temperatures. >> out of those 60's that we spent much of the weekend back to some warmer conditions, shorts, t-shirts, kind of stuff looking outside this morning. we do have the golden gate bridge looking nice and clear. another fog free morning for us this time around. we're off to a cold start to what will eventually be a really warm afternoon. so no more of those 60's, no more. the jackets come the afternoon. you're going to be wanting to get those jackets away from later on today. a couple of sprinkles up along the north coast. absolutely nothing going on as far as any sort of rainfall potential goes here locally. so we're smooth sailing and that's a trend of weather we're going to carry through next week as well. 40's and 50's as we're spending this morning for most areas even up in the north bay. we're not looking at in the 30's this morning. so it's a slightly more mild start to the day. setting us up for what will be a very nice afternoon. winds still gusting as high as 20 miles per hour. it's not going to be much of a factor and certainly less brisk feel to it. not only

because winds are a little lighter, but because they're paired with temperatures that are a bit warmer. so that means it's going to have less of that cool field, coastal areas even getting warmer up into the upper 60's bayside mid 70's. well inland areas. back to the 80's. we go today. these are some big differences from yesterday. more in your full breakdown for the weekend forecast. still to come back to john, thank you for that, right. let's get a look at your bridges this morning at 10 minute drive heading into the city. may's to that fremont street exit san mateo bridge across towards the peninsula. about 13 minutes for you. richmond center fell bridge, a nine-minute drive out of richmond and the golden gate bridge. >> 37 to the tolls. you're looking at a 20 minute drive. we've got some breaking news overnight. police in the east bay are continuing their investigation into the disappearance of alexis gabe. the latest development came thursday when police served a search warrant at a home where was reportedly last seen. we're going to show you this video. this is from antioch. it shows detectives with the

oakland police department and the antioch police department carrying bags of evidence out of the home on entry way. this is the home of the missing woman's ex-boyfriend. the 24 year-old was reported missing in late january. her car was found the next day abandoned more than 4 miles away with the doors open and the keys in the ignition. there's a $10,000 reward the offer for any information on the case. well, happening today, one of the men accused of killing kevin nishita. we'll be back in court today. that's mitchell shy. he to china. he's going appear in front of a judge for a plea hearing. well, that she was shot and killed. you might remember last november and open while he was guarding one of our crews, ron gilbert and hershel hale are also accused in the case hill was arrested, but police are still looking for gilbert. in walnut creek. police are searching for this child. please get a good look. this is 8 year-old jonas, simon police say he was last

seen around 6.30, last night t% leaving his home on oak road near walden park. at the time he was wearing a red shirt, black or gray shorts and no shoes. jonas is about 5 feet. 5 and he weighs about 70 pounds. again, any information, please contact the walnut creek police department. well, thieves are now targeting bay area coin shops and going great lengths to break-in. we've heard from several store owners since our story aired wednesday night, all sharing very similar experiences within the last couple of months. kron four's taylor is actually talked to one conquer quite shot. who says the thieves made off with nearly $200,000 worth of inventory. there. >> so they've a lot of money. so that was tough, too. really >> kind of breaks too many daily compas says he's been struggling to recover ever since thieves seen in the

surveillance video also captured a group of thieves breaking into their valais hole location back in march, i believe is a c bunch of people that are pretty much. >> it's a memo that used as hour away, use change groups. interest crow bars. they know exactly what to look meanwhile, new surveillance video from an oakland queen shop shows another group of suspects using a uhaul truck to ram down the store's gate indoors in order to gain access. >> the owner of that store says the thieves made off with about 20 grand in merchandise in caused $90,000 worth of damages. >> there's no recourse. no, that is what about. >> daily champa and other owners are now speaking out to grab the attention of their city leaders to do something about the rampant high-end heists. i'm taylor bisacky reporting kron. 4 news. >> additional charges were announced against the 2 people

charged with kidnapping 3 month old baby brandon quay are yesenia ramirez and hosts a port deal. they were back in a san jose courtroom yesterday. they set in front of each other, never made eye contact with one another. the new charges stem from allegations that they attempted to kidnap the baby. at least 3 other times before the actual kidnapping. >> they have been planning coordinating and attempting to kidnap him since the beginning of march. it's absolutely shocking. this is i think any parent's worst nightmare. >> the santa clara county district attorney's office says the u.s. ramirez and jose per tale first tried to kidnap a baby brandon when he was just one month old. now, according to the da's office, the first attempted kidnapping happened on march 14th. that's when part heal polls as a child protective services worker who was there to take custody of the baby family was suspicious. they refused to give a baby brandon call child protective services. the

agency stated they didn't send anyone to the family's home to take the child. you have the second attempt that happened on march 28th, the da says that's when the defense is trying to kidnap brand at a local walmart. the da says they plan to exchange shopping carts with the child's grandmother, but they were unsuccessful. then on april 25th, the defense is trying to kidnap brandon again at the walmart, but they failed to distract brandon's grandmother later that afternoon. they kidnapped the child from the family's home. well, ramirez and port deal are scheduled to be back in court june 7th, in addition to the attempted kidnapping charges. but deal and ramirez are facing burglary charges in connection to their final attempt to take brandon. the judge did not set bail because of the new charges. the motive for the crimes still are under investigation. well, the north bay, there are 3 former minor league hockey players. they're set to stand trial after being accused of rape. so you have 33 year-old moses matthews. 34 year-old dominic jones, 30

year-old josiah kill. they play for the santa rosa growlers. police say the players arrested while away for game back in february on suspicion of sexually assaulting a woman who one of the men at a bar matthews is also accused of taking pictures of the woman and illegally sending them out via text message. the 3 men will be tried together starting on june 27th. well, a santa rosa couple arrested on suspicion of exposing their baby to fenton all have been released from jail. the sonoma county da's office says 26 year-old evan frost. it. 23 year-old madison but not were in court wednesday. it will be formally arraigned until the baby's toxicology reports are completed. the 15 month-old girl was found unresponsive at their home earlier this week and died at the hospital. police say they found fencing all throughout the house. a couple of scheduled to be back in court next month. sonoma county supervisors are

temporarily freezing new permit applications for vacation rentals like air bnb ease. it will be a 45 day. temporary moratorium kron four's amanda hari talk to some of the supervisors about why the number of vacation rentals are becoming a problem. >> this is not a neighborhood. this is these are many accounts, a growing number of houses in sonoma county are being rented out as vacation homes. we have some neighborhoods that are 40 to 50% vacation. rental homes, which is on sustainable district. one supervisor susan gorin is coming up on her 9th year in office. she says this has been issued the entire time. we continue to have challenges with some of the guests who want to party on here. the moratorium applies to new rental permits in districts. 1, 4, 5 supervisor david rabbit says it's a continuation of the previous moratorium. >> that was only in the russian river in sonoma valley

areas. rabbit says during the moratorium, the county is going to continue to collect and analyze data. and there's always a although the data. >> it's still. that short term rentals are taking house off the market, according to the county permit office since announcing the possibility of a moratorium. there's been approximately a 500% increase permit applications. the supervisors tell me the temporary freeze of new licenses. >> we'll give them time to review a comprehensive vacation rental ordinance put together by the sonoma county permit division. but they say the timing has nothing to do with the approaching summer holidays or bottle rock in neighboring napa county. we need some time to think about our new rules and regulations and the. >> over concentration impacts that happened in many of our neighborhoods. it's really

saturday is going to be the one with the scorching heat. sunday will take a bit of a step back from it right now. we are in the midst of a resurgence of this high-pressure ridge. so, yes, we are still in the midst of some cooler conditions, but that is soon to be out. so today, warming weather tomorrow, the very hottest of weather as that high pressure really but builds in tomorrow. also expecting in the impact of some of that coastal fog. as far as temperatures go today, 60's at the coast, 70's right along the bay and plentiful 80's elsewhere. it is definitely a warm up regardless of where you're at coastal beside inland areas. all of us in for quite the warmer day. palo alto mountain view at 77 degrees. san jose up to 78 campbell, all the way up to 80 today. mid 70's from free might union city hayward up the road. clint, from 74 to 77 degrees. while danville up to concord over to up to vacaville and over to napa, all hanging out well into the 80's today. a look ahead of

next 7 days tomorrow. definitely the hottest one nearing if not getting to 90 degrees for some of our inland spots and nearing the 80's right alongside the shore of the bay sunday gets a lot more mild 70's and low 80's for warmest of highs. and by monday, tuesday, wednesday and thursday of next week, we're settling into a seasonable and really comfortable pattern of 70's and low 80's and lots of sunshine. well, through next week. >> rain. all right, john, bring on the sunshine. all right. if you're heading into the city this morning, mace to that free must re exit around 10 minutes to make that drive. let's check on the san mateo bridge about 13 minutes heading across towards the peninsula. make sure you give yourself extra time and drive safe this morning. well, the house select committee investigating the january 6 attack on the u.s. capitol issued subpoenas thursday to 5 house republicans, including top republican kevin mccarthy. this is a major step in their investigation. reshad hudson joins us live from dc with more details. good morning. were shot.

>> good morning. it's rare that members of congress subpoena each other, but the committee says they believe these 5 gop members of congress have relevant information to the events leading up to that january 6 capitol attack. the investigation into the january 6 attack on the capitol has taken a dramatic turn. they're not conducting an investigation. house republican leader kevin mccarthy, congressman jim jordan of ohio, mo brooks of alabama, scott perry of pennsylvania and andy biggs of arizona were subpoenaed for testimony about events surrounding the attack in efforts to overturn the 2020 election. mccarthy slammed the committee for the move they just want to go after their political opponent. >> committee member and maryland congressman jamie raskin says he expects gop lawmakers to comply every american, including members of congress. >> will come and testify before a committee if they have. information that's

protests outside of the homes of some supreme court justices are now becoming a concern. >> republicans are trying to figure out a way to protect the judges. protests were reported outside of their homes after the draft opinion was leaked and after the women's health protection act failed in the senate, tom dempsey explains. >> fallout from a draft opinion league overturning roe versus wade is not only led to protests outside the supreme court building. but also

outside the homes of conservative judges over the last week, crowds focused on justices, brett kavanaugh, samuel alito, amy coney barrett and john roberts holding signs and chanting. but republicans now say the protesters are violating a 70 year-old federal law. i'm disappointed that there was a leak and i'm disappointed that this white house is still encouraging people to break federal law in go and protest in front of the houses. >> of supreme court justice over 40 republican congressman joined this resolution condemning the protests on thursday a day after the republican governors of maryland and virginia. both presidential hopefuls sent this letter to attorney general merrick garland citing title 18 section 15. 0, 7, of u.s. code which prohibits protesting outside the home of a justice that could influence a decision. >> the 2 governors voiced concerns about reports of demonstrators using threatening language before saying federal law enforcement must take the lead to protect
