>> you can hear a show just started moments before our live shot. it's very quiet out here at the entrance. but people are in a side enjoying the many concerts. take a look at this video. people spending their memorial day weekend kicking off here in napa, enjoying food, wine, all local from napa valley. and of course, things are a little different this year as we know 2020 this event was canceled. 2021 at the event was postponed month later. so people are just grateful to be back and also what's different know, covid restrictions. it gives people a sense of normalcy >> its own arm. but it's great to see everybody out. you know, there's a great 5 here. the atmosphere is one of great to be back. >> yes, so many people returning for the first time since the pandemic. i also talked that dad who brought

his one year-old son for the second time. you'll hear from him later on in the show's. this is also a good comeback for during, you know, people coming out of the pandemic and those local wineries are restaurants and breweries. they're excited to be back once again reporting live from now by gayle ong kron. 4 news >> i want to hear a little bit more about that food later on. so definitely a gather little bit more intel on that bank. you for that live report. >> memorial day travelers, they're being met with high gas prices. high ticket prices and the pileup of flight cancellations this weekend, according to flightaware, more than 1400 flights have been canceled today in the united states that followed more than 2300 cancellations on friday. delta airlines suffered the most cancellations with 9% of its flights being canceled today. they pointed to some bad weather being a major factor in majority of those. if you're planning to travel at all this summer, domestic airlines fares are about 24% higher. then the summer of

2019, it's a whopping 45% higher than just a year ago. and if you're driving around this weekend, good luck. finding gas for under $6 a gallon in the bay area. these are today's average prices for a gallon of regular gas prices up 5 to $0.10 across the board compared with last week, napa in san francisco, 2 of the most expensive places to top off at $6. and $0.36 a gallon. best place to fill up relatively speaking. probably going to be vallejo. they've got an average of about $6.15 a gallon. going. take a live look outside now at this lots of cloud cover. but it did kind of warm up okay in certain parts of the bay area today. meteorologist mabrisa rodriguez joining us now with a little bit more on our weather forecasting well, yes, certainly tracking that may gray out there and we did warm up. >> near average for most bay area cities. so i hope you enjoy today's slightly warmer

temperatures earlier this afternoon. but we do have a fire weather watch that. i need to warn you about. >> going into effect early for your memorial day monday, even continuing through tuesday night. so we could see some offshore winds. 35 miles per hour, less dropping relative humidity to as low as near the single digits and also going to keep an eye on warmer temperatures for your memorial day monday. we're going to warm up flirting with the 90's for warmest inland valleys, mid 60's along the coast with sustained northwest winds 20 to 30 miles per hour for most of the bay area. let%s take a look at your bottle rock forecast for the 2nd half of the weekend. your sunday afternoon warming up into the mid 70's in napa. so enjoy that. not going to be as cloudy as what we're seeing right now could actually see some light drizzle for those of you in the north bay because we're getting a tail end of a weak storm. and that's what we're tracking a lot of cloud cover out there this evening. and right now, east bay over berkeley, certainly seeing a great extent ing across the bay and temperatures out there right now. berkeley in the low 60's,

but a little bit milder for those of you in palo alto and san jose in the low 70's there. so enjoy those pleasant temperatures of half moon bay. 59 degrees and widespread low to mid 60's. for those of you in the north bay petaluma 61 degrees with napa currently at 67 degrees and a little bit of a stronger sea breeze out there for downtown san francisco, even extending into fairfield near that 30 mile per hour range. but it's the warm-up and that fire danger threat that we have to worry about more. my full forecast in just a few minutes. back to, you know, well. >> thanks to a recent new at 6 governor gavin newsom has tested positive for covid-19 after experiencing some mild symptoms. his office says he is vaccinated boosted and is beginning a five-day regimen of the antiviral medication. paxlovid newsom is expected to remain in isolation, at least through next thursday. but we'll continue to work remotely. other news tonight, a homeowner rescue this morning after their home caught fire in the east bay east contra costa fire. and police say it happened around

5.30, this morning on sand mount boulevard in rule oakley. you can see there that house was fully engulfed in flames when they arrived. the homeowner was rescued by neighbors from a window using a ladder. thankfully, they were able to get that fire under control within an hour. an alleged prowler in petaluma wanted in connection to at least 3 attempted home burglaries this month is still at large tonight. kron forcefully to calm met with the very latest victim who along with investigators is sharing images of that suspect. >> by chance on thursday morning, a homeowner petaluma decided to check the video into her home surveillance system. well, she dropped her husband off at a train station a few blocks away. >> and she was startled when she saw this man snooping around her home going so far as attempting to open the unlocked back door on webster street. the part that i don't want to stand pat. >> he knows it's open. why didn't he go? by the time, the

victim who wishes to remain anonymous got home. the suspect was gone. >> she called police and officers searched the area without locating them and they left and then 10 and a half hours later, he returned while the victim was preparing dinner. he knocked on the door. >> i came out. i opened the door and he say i know who you are. he grabbed the back and trying to chase. once again, the suspect got away. police say drove off in a dark gray or silver toyota sedan. if anybody's nightmare. in addition to this case, petaluma police say 2 other similar incidents have been reported in this area. >> within the past 2 weeks and that's why they're providing extra patrols in this neighborhood. this same guy. >> he's been doing same thing in sacramento. >> and in santa rosa, she says she does not know the man but notes. she had an initial running with him earlier in the week when he knocked on her door stating he was looking for his father. >> then abruptly left.

>> welcome back. new details emerging tonight about the shooting that killed 19 elementary school students and 2 teachers in uvalde, texas. these are photos of those victims. officials now have revealed the 18 year-old gunman tried to buy a rifle for at least 8 months leading

up to that tragic shooting that took place on tuesday. he reportedly asked his sister to help him buy a gun as far back as september of last year, she refused to do so. but he legally was able to buy an assault rifle on may 17th his 18th birthday at a local sporting goods store. he then purchase 375 rounds of ammunition. the very next day he then bought another semi automatic weapon. 2 days later. the gunman also openly commented about his reputation as a likely school shooter on social media and threatened rapes in the weeks leading up to the deadly massacre. we will continue to follow with the latest on that deadly shooting. the main online fundraiser for the victims of the texas school shooting has now raised 4.5 million dollars. that fund is organized by victims. first on gofundme dot com. they say they are putting 100% of the donations towards victims, families and those wounded in the attacks. if you'd like to

john key. he self tuesday. it has since posted bail. he had been charged with 2 felonies for illegally possessing a certain caliber of assault 2 different charges and he was also charged with one misdemeanor for manufacturing or assembling an unregistered firearm. also known as it going. >> the investigation is being led by the contra costa county district attorney's office. this is exclusive video of the search warrant being served at the home of judge back on february. 1st of this year, mister cain allegedly gained access to guns, gun parts and for the technician while working at the sheriff's gun range in clayton. according to the probable cause document obtained by kron 4, he then sold it to civilians and sworn members of the contra costa county sheriff's office. i'm curious in light of that, your office and the sheriff's office been in communication about these allegations?

you 4 news? >> other news tonight, the final and eldest victim of the buffalo mass shooting was laid to rest today. vice president kamala harris paid her respects at the funeral for 86 year-old ruth whitfield. she was laid to rest today at mount olive baptist church in buffalo. the funeral was also attended by the reverend al sharpton who delivered what fields eulogy. the vice president addressed those mourners at the service making an emotional plea to end the senseless violence. it is time now to get you another check of your forecast this evening. we've got calm for meteorologist mabrisa rodriguez standing by with a look. are we going to stay cooler warming up? what's going on? every said, yeah, we're going to start to warm up, especially for the 2nd half of your weekend. temperatures today. >> we noticed a lot more warming, especially along the coast. finally bring a seasonal temperatures with mid 60's returning to downtown san francisco, flirting with 70's

for those of you in oakland, exactly where you should be for this time of year with livermore in concord, about 3 to 5 degrees below average there. but we are tracking still that may gray hanging tight over san francisco international airport and we are going to notice that thick cloud cover along the coast even tonight for those of you in the north bay valleys, you could even see some light sprinkles because of that marine layer. and we are going to notice, though, during the overnight hours, better clearing. so we're not going to wake up to as much cloud cover on sunday as our warming trend officially arrives just ahead of the memorial day weekend with temperatures out there right now, widespread low to mid 60's, low 70's for san jose in palo alto but half moon bay and even downtown san francisco currently in the upper 50's. so overnight lows tonight going to be noticeably cooler because of that lack of blanket a grey. so we are going to see widespread 40's and 50's with santa rosa cooling down to 45 degrees and talk a little bit milder in the mid 50's at 55 degrees in daytime highs tomorrow. just a
