four's amanda hari spoke to the victim. she joins us now with an >> good evening. the well, he tells me he's healing pretty well and he's back home after a few days in the hospital, he says he called 9-1-1 himself. he wasn't sure what happened but knew he was hurt and bleeding. >> america is as dangerous for still, emory at the ridge says he was out with friends having a fun night. >> he decided to walk home just after one on monday morning. he says he paused on the sidewalk here car wash a 10th in harrison. he was deciding whether to call an uber. that's when he saw someone sitting in a car in the car. watch. this and shopping. police say the suspect took off after firing the shot. the person hit at bridge in the hip with a 38 caliber bullet that went down. that's all remember. i asked at the ridge about the slur the suspect used towards him on the floor. we have to live and well america have dealt with this before. i've you

around 3 o'clock this afternoon. he was last seen on the 7200 block of dowdy street. >> that's near glen view elementary. take a look at your screen right now. he's about 4 feet tall. he was last seen wearing what you see in this photo, if you find him call gilroy police at the number on your screen. homeowner was rescued this morning after their home caught fire in the east bay. the house was engulfed in flames. as you can see here when east contra costa fire fighters arrived, that call came in around 5.30, this morning on sand mount boulevard in rural oakley. the homeowner was rescued by neighbors from a window using a ladder. fire crews were able to get that fire under control within an hour. an alleged prowler in petaluma remains at large tonight. they are wanted in connection to at least 3 attempted home burglaries this month from forcefully call met with the latest victim along with investigators is sharing some images about suspect that

aluma police have added extra patrols to webster street near petaluma high school. >> this after 3 attempted burglaries have been reported in the area in less than 2 weeks. the latest happening thursday when police say this man attempted to unlawfully enter a home twice in the same day. the alert to the victim wants to remain anonymous, but he's willing to share their story. she first encountered the suspect earlier the week. i was driving in. >> i could see him. i tried to open the door to the front door. and i asked him, i said, what do you want? and he say, i'm looking for my dad. i say, right. the left then days later on thursday morning, he returned while the woman drove her husband to a train station around the corner. >> while the way she checked or surveillance system on her phone and attempting to enter the back of her home. >> she called police. but when she got back home, the man was gone. when officers arrived later that night, the alleged

prowler came back while the woman was in the kitchen. she confronted him and chased after him after he grabbed the back of hers and her house keys so fast. >> and is al he's going after him. the neighbor across the street was chasing him in all. police say this man is connected to at least 3 attempted burglaries in town. >> the woman says investigators believe he has made similar attempts in sacramento in santa rosa. police say he drives a gray or silver toyota sedan in petaluma phillipe djegal all kron. 4 news. >> memorial day travelers are being met with high gas prices. high ticket prices and a pileup, a flight cancellations this weekend, according to flightaware, more than 1400 flights were canceled today in the united states that followed more than 2300 cancellations on friday. delta airlines suffered the most cancellations today. they pointed to bad weather being a factor. if you are planning to travel at all this summer, domestic airline fares are

noticing that summer like pattern returning to the bay area forecast with that thick fog bank out there. but i do need to warn you about your memorial day monday. >> especially for those of you in solano county. you're going to be under a fire weather watch starting monday morning through tuesday night, warm temperatures, gusty offshore winds out of the northwest around 35 miles per hour or less expected decreasing relative humidity near the single digits for your monday afternoon. and even for your tuesday afternoon. so let's take a look at your full memorial day forecast because we are going to see northwesterly breezes from coast to valleys about 30 miles per hour or less inland areas. you're actually going to warm up near 80 degrees for your monday. so the long holiday weekend going to gradually warm up, especially after today with along the coast. temperatures there thanks to that fog bank in the mid 60's. so not going to be as hot or warm like what we're going to see and what we have seen for the last couple of days. but radar for right now tracking that thick fog bank

out there right now live look outside at coit tower. we're not only noticing that thick high cloud cover giving us some patchy drizzle out there right now throughout the san francisco peninsula, but also dense low clouds and fog fog with visibility about anywhere from near 0. for those of you at half moon bay and downtown san francisco, a little bit better along the east bay shoreline in our inland valleys. but then it is going to worsen throughout tonight. shortly before midnight at around 9, 10 o'clock in the evening. that's when we're going to see especially around the bay area, shoreline visibility at or near 0. so please drive safely better clearing overnight. so we are going to see visibility improving after midnight with a lot of sunshine to start your morning by sunday. but temperatures out there right now already cooling down into the 50's along the coast of pacifica and half moon bay at 57 degrees. those of you in berkeley, upper 50's with san jose and freemont in the mid-sixties with widespread 50's 60's for those of you in the north bay novato. 59 degrees in napa currently in

vaccinated. got his second booster just 10 days ago and is beginning a five-day regimen of the antiviral medication. paxlovid newsom is expected to remain in isolation, at least through next thursday, but he will continue to work remotely. and in national news, the fda says baby formula supplies should be back to normal by july. that shortage, of course, has been getting worse since abbott industries plant with unsanitary conditions was forced to close back in february around 300,000 cans of formula have already arrived from overseas. they're going to be handed out babies with serious medical needs those in hospitals, that sort of thing. fda officials say more formula is going to be back on store shelves by next month with those shelves plan to be fully stocked by july. while supplies are limited, many retailers are limiting customers. 2, 4 cans per order. >> coming up on this hour from

francisco peninsula, specifically in south san francisco. so drive safely a few slick roads out there this evening. but your bottle rock forecast for the 2nd half of the weekend looking drier, sunnier and warmer. in fact, in that they were going to warm up into the mid 70's by tomorrow afternoon in today and certainly felt warmer, especially along the coast, warming up into the mid 60's for dlwntown san francisco. exactly where we should be for this time of year. those of you in livermore and conquered very pleasant temperatures in the mid 70's when you should be flirting with or at the 80 degree mark. so i hope you enjoyed today's warmer temperatures because it's only going to get warmer from here. we're tracking, though, first, a very thick layer of fog bank may gray out there in full mother nature is a seat certainly giving us a boost of moisture not just along the coast, but even into our inland valleys as well. that is going to continue throughout tonight. but then shortly after midnight, we're going to see drier and clear conditions and that's going to continue all the way through your sunday afternoon as well.

so we're tracking temperatures out there right now in the mid 50's for downtown san francisco in half moon bay. those of you in san jose about 8 degrees warmer currently in the mid 60's at 65 degrees of palo alto and fremont. not that far behind 63 degrees for your saturday night and overnight lows tonight. going to be slightly cooler than last night because of that lack of blanket of cloud cover. in fact, santa rosa going to cool down to 45 degrees. 10 degrees warmer for those of you in and check them all this city overnight at 55 degrees and temperatures for the most part, widespread mid 70's along our north bay east and south bay valleys, oakland, those 71 degrees downtown san francisco still in the mid 60's. but about 2 degrees warmer than today at 66 degrees. and as we take a look ahead at the next 7 day forecast warming up for your memorial day monday and peaking on wednesday. that's when we're going to see low 90's returning for our warmest inland valleys until we start to gradually cool down by the end of the week. but here we go. another roller coaster ride whether champ pitcher

our top story this half hour. new developments in the case of the former sheriff's office volunteer accused of building and selling ghost guns in contra costa county kron four's madyun spoke exclusively with the contra costa county da about the investigation. >> a former contra costa county sheriffs volunteer now charged kron four's learned this weekend. arrest warrant was issued for 54 year-old john key. he self tuesday. it has since posted bail. he had been charged with 2 felonies put illegally possessing a certain caliber of assault 2 different charges and he was

also charged with one misdemeanor for manufacturing or assembling an unregistered firearm. also known as it going. >> the investigation is being led by the contra costa county district attorney's office. this is exclusive video of the search warrant being served at the home of judge came back on february. 1st of this year, mister cain allegedly gained access to guns, gun parts and for the technician while working at the sheriff's gun range in clayton. according to the probable cause document obtained by 4, he then sold it to civilians and sworn members of the contra costa county sheriff's office. i'm curious in light of your office and the sheriff's office been in communication about these allegations. >> we do not. but i do understand that i that the nation is still ongoing. and so that is always a possibility in the future. but that is an allegation crowd for first told you about this investigation earlier this month. >> investigators say 132 guns

new details have emerged about the 18 year-old who shot and killed 19 students and 2 teachers in texas on tuesday. officials say the gunman tried to buy a rifle for at least 8 months leading up to the tragic shooting. he reportedly asked his sister to help him buy a gun as far back as september of last year, she refused. he legally bought an assault rifle on may 17th his 18th birthday at a local sporting good store. you can purchase 375 rounds of ammunition. the very next day. and he bought another semi automatic weapon. 2 days later. he also openly commented about his reputation as a likely school shooter on social media and threatened rapes in the weeks leading up to tuesday's deadly massacre. the main online fundraiser for the victims of that texas school shooting has now raised 4.5 million dollars. the fund organized by victims first on gofundme dot com. they say
