that time. you know, they may not identifies that population to get the vaccine as of general hospital will be announcing more monkeypox clinic hours as they assess available doses. >> amanda hari kron, 4 news. >> 2 young people are injured in 2 separate shootings in the east bay on friday. police say one miner was sent to the hospital with serious injuries after a shooting on 26th street around 4 in the afternoon. at last check, he is in critical but stable condition. later, police went to the hospital and met with another miner who was being treated for gunshot wounds. that shooting happening near 73rd avenue and holly street. the 2 shootings are still under investigation tonight. >> 5 minors were arrested after sending police on a chase in oakland this weekend. police say officers saw a car driving recklessly near 90th avenue and international boulevard. this is video of the scene coming from the citizens app. the car matched the description of one

reported in a carjacking hours earlier, officers tried to pull over this vehicle, but the miners inside drove off leading them on a chase. the car eventually stopped on 100th avenue and those miners and ran into a nearby creek. police caught up with them, though they were all arrested and later released to their parents. determined that vehicle was not involved in that initial carjacking. and this is all still an ongoing investigation and the north bay and deadly multi vehicle crash causes roads to close. >> for several hours in napa, this crash happening on highway 29 late last night, a preliminary report shows that one person was driving south in the northbound lanes and hit at least 4 cars that were going northbound. one driver died. 2 others were injured. >> and police in the east, they're asking for your help in searching for a teenage girl. take a good look at your screen. oakland police say 14 year-old natalia perez rivera was last seen around 10, 30 saturday morning near 48th

avenue. opd says she was wearing black sweat pants, black crocs and a gray hooded sweatshirt with an adidas logo on it. natalia is 5 foot 5 inches. she weighs 155 pounds. she has black hair and brown eyes. her family says she's in good, physical and mental shape and she may be going to washington square in san francisco. so if you've seen her up any information on her whereabouts, you're asked to contact oakland pd. >> actress and hey, she is dead after being taken off of life support just a few hours ago, this 9 days after she was injured in a a fiery car crash in southern california. hey, she was declared brain dead on friday but was kept on life support. so her organs could be harvested and donated. detectives say that she had drugs in her system when she crashed her mini cooper into a house, setting it on fire. hey, shoe starred in several films, including donnie brasco and 6 days, 7 nights was 53. fire crews are working to stop

12 lightning caused fires near california's coastline tonight, the nickname 6 rivers, lightning complex, fires burned over 16,000 acres on the humboldt trinity county lines and has prompted several evacuation orders and warnings. one person has been injured, complex fires, only 17% contained at this time. well, those fires are prompting an air quality advisory for san francisco tomorrow. air quality, however, not expected to be unhealthy. but you will see maybe some smoke and some haze out in the skies and you might also be able to smell some of that smoke out there. >> and murray's rodriguez is tracking that smoke for us. even just the words lightning complex fire brings me back. obviously, just a couple years ago. but i need 20 at what we forget it was august 2. so i'm like right around this time. and i know we've got some hot days coming up as well. so a lot to talk about here. yeah, a lot. so we don't have a spare the air alert, but we do have that air quality advisory in effect all day tomorrow

because of those lightning complex fires just west of redding. and it's those northerly winds that's going to help. >> increase our temperatures and they're going to peak on tuesday. so those job, low winds going to push that smoke and ash into the bay area. and so those of you with any pulmonary or respiratory issues, please limit outdoor activity as much as you can like. dan mentioned, it's not expected to exceed unhealthy air particle levels, but it is still going to be on the moderate side. so just a heads up there. please limit your outdoor activity as much as you can. and it's also going to be hot as well. so try to stay away from the heat, especially for those of you in our warmest inland valleys. tracking moderate air particles right now. and that's going to continue for you at the start of your workweek monday as well. in addition to that hot temperatures heading our way. so we have not one but 2 excessive heat watches going to go into effect starting tuesday morning for the eastern portion of the bay area. specifically most of our inland valleys, not the east

bay shoreline. that's going to be excluded because of that cool sea breeze. but all those areas shaded in red, you are going to be under an excessive heat. watch starting tuesday morning through tuesday night because of temperatures it about 105 degrees or less for those of you in solano county, you're going to have your own separate excessive heat. watch that one is going to start tuesday morning through friday. and that's because overnight lows just going to cool down into the 60's and 70's so little to no relief during the overnight hours. but daytime highs tomorrow as well, going to be even hotter up to 110 degrees. also going to track a possible threat of monsoonal moisture that could spark pop-up thunderstorms and that threat of dry lightning tuesday night into wednesday morning in the bay area. you're full work week forecast coming up in just a few minutes, dan and well, back to you. all right, thanks a lot the raiders call las vegas home now. but we know. >> but that hasn't always been the case. that's right. kron forcefully to call spoke with some east bay raiders fans who

>> welcome back. 9.15, on this sunday night and we're following developing news out of pennsylvania where one person is dead and 17 others are injured after a car plowed through a crowd. it happened last night in berwick. tons of people gathered there to raise money for victims of a deadly house fire that killed 10

people earlier this month. police say after the suspect drove through the crowd, he then beat a 56 year-old woman to death. less than a mile away. we're learning tonight that woman was his mother. 24 year-old adrian reyes is in jail tonight facing 2 counts of homicide. no word on a motive behind either of the crimes at this time. >> in washington, a man is dead after police say he drove his car into a barricade near the capital. this happening around 4 o'clock this morning, police say is the man got out of his car. it became engulfed in flames. authorities say the man then started shooting several bullets into the air as police were approaching and then he shot and killed himself. police say the man didn't seem to be targeting any members of congress, but he did have a criminal history in the past decade. they are not releasing his name at this time. >> closer to home. thousands of kaiser mental health professionals in northern california are getting ready to walk off their jobs this week. some of the reasons include high workloads and

excessive wait times for patients who are seeking treatment. kron four's gayle ong has details. >> kaiser permanente. mental health, clinicians and supporters spent sunday afternoon preparing signs at the union of healthcare workers headquarters in every bill and of an open ended strike beginning monday. we want our patients to get the they care. kathy raise a licensed clinical social worker at kaiser in walnut creek. she's one of the thousands who plan to walk off the job will out as long as it takes is a crisis right now health with kaiser. >> and we are we're the place now where we are. we know that it's now it's time to do it. now they have to step up and and reach out and cover their patients. the strike involves more than 2000 mental health workers like psychologists, therapists and social workers. according to union negotiations with kaiser ended saturday with executives rejecting union proposals to increase staffing and long waits for mental health

sonoma county sheriff's office miss happening near clear lake in lake county. crews say that he was suffering from a serious medical condition. they were eventually able to find him, bring them up into the helicopter and then eventually took him to the hospital. >> do you want to get you a check now of your 4 zone forecast taking a live look at the transamerica pyramid tonight. it's cool out there, right? here comes joy tomorrow morning. it's going to be warm when you wake yeah. and just downright hot. already. starting tuesday morning, dan well, especially for the eastern half of the bay area, as you can see, the coast and east bay shoreline excluded hpfrom this excessive heat. watch. but for those of you inland, make sure to stay cool. stay hydrated. because starting tuesday morning, we're already going to start to see temperatures ramp up and it's going to continue for those of you in solano county. >> through friday. so let's

take a look at our drought monitor map. the one thing really working in our favor are the semi calm. winds were not under any red flag warnings, meaning imminent fire danger, but we're still under severe drought. so let's be safe out there. bay area, especially in the coming days with these hot weather conditions heading our way. in fact, we've been tracking them all weekend long in today. no exception, 5 to 10 degrees above average. so a little bit warmer than where we were yesterday with livermore in concord trying to flirt with those triple digit numbers. but tomorrow you're going to be at or near it to start your work week. monday. temperatures out there right now for concord. finally feeling some relief. 79 degrees after warming up to 97 degrees earlier this afternoon, dublin and livermore. very pleasant temperatures in the mid 70's. but still on the mild side as well as san jose out of the 70's and finally cooling down to 67 degrees with downtown san francisco in the low 60's. thanks to that shallow marine layer that cool sea breeze returning with the widespread mid to upper 60's. for those

of you in our north bay valleys. point raise, though, along the coast. 58 degrees. if you want relief head to the beach because that's going to be your safest kulis bad. if you want to escape this upcoming heatwave live look outside from the east bay over berkeley tracking hazy skies out there. that's going to continue through tomorrow. but very nonexistent marine layer. and that's just an indicator of just how hot it's going to get. but it is going to be our saving grace along the coast and east bay shoreline. that's why you're not going to be under an excessive heat. watch for the coming days. but temperatures about 5 degrees above average. nonetheless, with overnight lows tonight, upper 50's to low 60's for most of the bay area. antioch, though, the mall, the city at 66 degrees and temperatures tomorrow. triple digits for those of you in concord and antioch. and even santa rosa nevado mid-nineties for your afternoon highs with the valais what 93 degrees. oakland, 82 degrees to start your work week monday with downtown san francisco in the mid 70's. and remember, it's going to peak on tuesday that some are going to see

>> welcome back. as more bay area students gear up for the first day of class this week, many of them are still without school supplies. so livermore police decided to help out this weekend by hosting a school supply drive. kron four's camila barco. but there. >> donated some color, pencils, a simple donation like color. pencils is making a huge difference for students in livermore. think this is a wonderful program. police to >> you can see they put up to try win in that. it's a mobile someone, not how ball helped stuff. this livermore police cruiser. >> with school supplies, its contributions are now helping hundreds of kids have what they need for the first day of school. we usually get more than what we need, which is great because then we end up

donating the rest school resource officer aren't. rosa says the program started years ago after learning about the need for backpacks in the community. some children didn't have school supplies when school began. >> so we figured out that if we could drug donations and get them out, we're more than happy to be a part of this community project. this weekend. they collected hundreds of school supplies which will be given to livermore students. >> who need it the most? for example, kids who are in the horizons, family counseling program that offers diversion programs for kids and teens who've been affected by law enforcement. what we offer is a long-term solution for families so they can get the help that they need. >> hopefully some of the domestic problems. rosa says the program often works with people in underserved communities. but with the help from people in the livermore community, dozens of kids can start school on the right foot. you can see the parents just, you know, relieved that they don't have to go out and purchase. one more thing officers are going to sort through the supplies they collected this weekend and

>> welcome back. now at 9.30, the fate of a bill that would legalize safe injection sites in parts of the state, including oakland and san francisco is now in the hands of governor gavin newsom. state capitol correspondent eytan wallace spoke with supporters and opponents. >> who have very different demands of gavin newsom. >> time is running out for the governor to make a decision on this bill. a bill supporters say will help people battling addiction. but one opponents argue will only make matters worse. >> we're looking at the reality on the ground in several california cities. the visual views needles along sidewalks and the streets serving as a reminder of rampant drug use impacting some of the state's most populated areas. but backers behind the proposal senate bill. 57 say the bill would help those who are battling addiction by creating safe

injection sites where drugs can be used under get the drug use off the streets. we need to get people into treatment and we need to save people's lives. democratic assemblymember matt haney of san francisco co authored the bill, a bill that already passed both chambers of the legislature and now is sitting on the governor's desk as part of the proposal. the injection site will be part of a 5 year pilot program in the city of oakland, the city and county of los angeles and the city and county of san francisco. it's all about saving lives, which most important. it's also about getting this open air off of the streets, getting people help getting people connected to our neighborhoods, our cities. >> under siege. he says the concept has worked in other parts of the country, but others including democratic assembly member jim cooper, who will soon take over as the criminal county sheriffs say the sites will only hurt the people who need help just really going down the wrong road. >> well, it may sound good. it doesn't work. injection sites do have a magnet effect. why?

because annex know the dealers are going to be there so they can purchase their product. and they operate and really feeling that it's a love that it's a free zone and that makes causes irretrievable tragedy. at a thursday press conference, the governor was asked whether he will sign the bill that's on your desk. i just found out yesterday so i haven't a chance the governor has 10 days to either sign the bill into law. >> or veto it reporting here at the california state capitol. a tall wallace kron. 4 news. >> all right. now to the latest on the wildfires burning near the california oregon border. 3 fires continue to burn but are all very close to being fully contained. the largest one, the mckinney fire in siskiyou county is now. 95% contained. it's burned over 60,000 acres. the fire has killed 4 people, including a longtime u.s. forest service employee, the yeti and the alex fires to the west of the mckinney fire.

they're continuing to burn as well. they're both 90% contained and had burned a combined nearly 8,000 acres. >> with that, we do want to talk just a little bit about how hot we're going to get here and that fire danger that it presents as well. murray's rodriguez, a lots issues in the east bay that to say the least rated even for those of you in the south and east, we actually have a slight chance of pop-up thunderstorms because the monsoonal moisture. >> that could bring us that threat of dry lightning. not what we need at all, especially with this heat wave that's already starting going to peak on tuesday. so we do have hot temperatures in store for us tuesday morning, mainly for the eastern portions of the bay area, specifically the valleys, the mountains and hills of the north bay and east bay. you're all included in this excessive heat. watch for those of you in solano county. it's going to continue through friday where you could see temperatures as hot as 110 degrees. but for most of the

bay area, especially the eastern half that i just showed you upwards of 105 degrees. so severe weather heading our way. let's take a live look outside san francisco international airport. we are seeing some marine layer influence in that return of the cool sea breeze. but overall, very dry, calm conditions, at least for now. but we are going to notice an increase in moisture with monsoonal moisture. in fact, just south and east of hawthorne. you're already starting to notice pop-up thunderstorms and a lot of instability there. so we are going to notice more of that muggy, tropical feel tuesday through wednesday. and that's when we're going to have our chance of possible pop-up thunderstorms starting tuesday night through wednesday morning for us here in the bay area. but mainly for areas south and east. so the south bay and east bay, you're the ones who do have the highest chance out of everyone. futurecast for though, going to show dry and calm. start for those of you in this year. temperatures in the mid 80's. but for the mountainous areas of this year, you are going to see pop-up scattered

thunderstorms tuesday and wednesday of this upcoming week. but for the valleys, you're going to stay dry. partly cloudy skies on tuesday and wednesday, as that was mid-level monsoonal clouds start to form tuesday. but temperatures out there right now for your bay area forecast 50's and 60's along the coast. still in the 70's as you make your way inland with concord trying to flirt with 80's about a 30 degree difference for those of you in our coolest coastal cities right now. >> 58 degrees for pacifica. 56 for point raise in the north and temperatures triple digits for concord and antioch tomorrow and mid 90's. for those of you in santa rosa nevado and even valais as well. little relief along the coast. 70's for the san francisco peninsula coastline and the heat is on tuesday. 5 to 15 degrees above average with near average highs not returning until this upcoming weekend. back to dan and well. risa. thank you. award-winning author salman rushdie on the road to recovery tonight after

reported around 05:00am. at least 41 people are dead and at least 14 others injured after a fire rips through. >> a coptic church in egypt today. here's a look inside of that church is now being called one of the worst fire tragedies in the country in recent years. officials say the blaze broke out in an air conditioner on the second floor of the building after an electrical short circuit congregants were worshiping when that fire broke out. >> now to the very latest on the war in ukraine, ukrainian president zelensky is calling on russian citizens to speak up against russian action in ukraine in his nightly address. zelenskyy said those who remain silent are also complicit the russian military said today troops have taken full control of a settlement in kharkiv. those claims could not be independently verified. meanwhile, zelenskyy also mentioned european union proposals to limit russian nationals access to tourist

visas. a group of 5 lawmakers from the united states landed in taiwan today just 12 days after house speaker nancy pelosi enraged china with her own trip to the self-governing island. democratic senator ed markey of massachusetts led this delegation. >> the trip was not announced beforehand. the lawmakers are scheduled to meet with taiwan's senior leaders to discuss relations between the 2 countries. those issues that are expected to be talked about include regional security, trade and investment. the chinese government objects to taiwan having any official contact with foreign governments, particularly with a high ranking congressional leader like nancy pelosi. >> new research shows climate change could impact one 3rd of the foods we eat. international scientists warning about declining rates of pollinators like bees, butterflies and bats. those species pollinate our fruits, vegetables and other plants that make up a large portion of our food supply. they say losing those critical populations could mean losing some of those critically

are tech smart. >> i like that. it can send little message is it's kind of cool. speaking of tech, the days of green or blue eye messages may soon be coming to an end google has launched a new website aimed at convincing apple to join them and fixing text messaging between iphone and android smartphones. i like this idea right now both apple and google use their own separate messaging systems. they're both supercharged. those cyst. they both supercharged those systems allowing users to share higher quality images, read receipts and other things. but those features only work properly when they're being shared on the same system. this can sometimes cause blurry videos. broken group chats and missing read receipts when iphone users and android users are messaging each other. google says this all has led to peer pressure and bullying in favor of i'm messages and iphones.
