but you wouldn't know it by how they play this weekend. let's go to the many apple, minnesota giants fans they showed up and it looks like they're probably waiving those playoff hopes the by right there, top of the 5th giants down 3 to 2 until brandon crawford rips a shot into right. evan longoria on his horse comes on around to score and just like that, we have a tie game. but the twins, they respond in the bottom of the inning. max kepler with the shot to left field. that's warning track. power twins go back up its 43 now let's stay in. the ending is 5 to 3 at this point. and gio urshela here in the 50's going to pop a flare to right. mike tracking it down a year ago. we probably makes this play. that is really the giants season in a nutshell. he whiffs on it, smacks it into the stands for an rbi ground-rule double 6 straight batters reached base in the 5th. ending this with the

>> welcome back to sports night live. we're just 2 weeks out of the niners season opener against the chicago bears and one of their best players is already on ice. well, actually, 2 of them, if you count jimmie ward, but right now we are focused on deebo samuel deebo suffered a bruise, a bone bruise, say that 10 times fast in his knee did not practice today. the niners expect him to be out all week. the team said that the bruise >> occurred during the texans game on thursday. here was devos only target during the game. he got tangled up with texans cornerback steven nelson. talk to the supposed to be ready for that opener in a couple weeks. but of course, we will be monitoring that injury helping deebo. you just got paid for the forty-niners finished the preseason 2 in one. now no one is counting preseason win, loss records. but well, we are taking a harder look at is some potential offensive issues. trey lance and company were under constant pressure against the texans.
>> niners quarterbacks averaged only 6.8 yards per pass with 2 picks that was sacked 3 times. now that said kyle shanahan definitely puts his playbook to self during the preseason and gives a pretty vanilla version of his plays to his opponents. so >> we might see completely different offense in week. one, the team practiced today and afterwards george kittle was asked how the regular season offense will look to trey lance in charge. he was worried that the forty-niners offense heading to chicago. >> and yes, and only there's going be a lot of similarities. but obviously you know, trey runs the ball into a lot of zone, read stuff. so we're obviously have different stuff in there. but and the run game look pretty similar and pass game will have similar concepts. but it just got on the ball. there's a lot of importance and how we practice. you know how we make plays. how do you open for trey? make it more comfortable you know, want to throw some football? no, it's definitely could have we. i would. i mean, they are biggest issue on offense this past week. once we had 100,000 penalties for, you know, the entire
football field of yardage. but got to limit those and, you get targeting right place, i think will be a lot better. definite wasn't pretty. but there's things work with. and think we just have to go out there. and i said these next few days are going to 3 big practices and hopefully we can, you know, gain some ground on those 3 practices. >> it was always agree. sound by. all right, kate. so jimmy g he's still on the roster. but it's a matter of if not when, as a matter of when not if him, you know, moving on, he will be released when that does happen and we get past the saga has been drawn out so long. where do you see him landing? >> i think there's really only 2 options at this point, right? jason, you've got the browns that does seem a little bit less likely. they seem to ng to roll with jacoby i mean, he's a guy who does have starting experience and they just haven't made as we haven't heard about as many overtures that they've made about jimmy garoppolo ever since we learned about to shawn watson being suspended for those 11 games. that's a
lot of money to take on if you're the browns need. so that being said, it's got to the seahawks, right? yeah. >> yeah. i think seahawks are the most logical suitor for him. they just name geno smith. their starting quarterback, you know, so it's not very talented. jimmy g is a way better option and i think the forty-niners know that. that's why they've held on to jimmy g so long because they don't want jimmy g to be ready to be able to potentially start against the forty-niners on september 18th. they don't they don't want to see that happen. >> part of me is like, come on, give to jimmy g a solid. he's been a good sport through all this. he's you know, he's been you've been good for your organization. obviously not perfect or he'd still be the starting quarterback. then another side of me is like this is a business. everything is competitive. do you want potentially jimmy g starting on the other side of the field against you week, too. probably not. so it will be
interesting, i guess maybe a sleeper, kate could be the panthers just because donald just went down. so maybe they bring him into. backup. baker mayfield potentially start. you never know. that's probably unlikely. but i think you're right on hand with the seahawks. that the 40 or excuse me forty-niners. >> don't have to cut this tuesday, even when they make the cuts to the 53 man roster, they wouldn't have to pay him as 24.0. 2 million guaranteed until september 10th. so what might make sense for them to wait until a day before the season opener? and then seattle has? >> you know, as little time as possible to get him up to speed, if they do bring him right. all not moving on the nfl. >> finished their top 100 player d do they do this annual thing where the players vote with the number one player in the nfl. according to the players. but let's go down the list of forty-niners on this list is kyle use
check. he was came in 100 96. it was jimmy war at 47. we saw fred warner bennett. 25 we saw nick bosa. 22 george kittle 19 the vote, which is also his number right? yeah, it's pretty cool. incident and then 14 trent williams, kate, too high to low. what do you think about some of these guys on that list? >> i'm pretty good to get 7 players on the list. love seeing kyle use check on their how cool the full-back made it into the top 100. and i mean, he's amazing. he's made the pro bowl every year since 2016. so who else is on that right now? that many people. so he deserves to be on that list? i was a little surprised that trent williams wasn't higher. i mean, you look at the guys were above him and you think, ok, these guys are all very talented, but he is by far the best in his position at the lee in the league. and so you're saying it just kind of goes to show you how undervalued offensive lineman, right? if you're saying that, you know, look at their 14 players in a given time, we're bette
