mateo bridge 20 minutes, that's a 80 to 101 traveling across towards the peninsula. richmond center fell bridge tolls to what about about 12 minutes on this tuesday morning. darya james, back to you 701. and developing news, san francisco mayor london breed as a target of new allegations. they claim that she require city commissioners to provide resignation letters before they're appointed. yeah, it's raising eyebrows. anout oversight committee is getting >> well, an emergency meeting together this morning to discuss the mayor's policy kron. 4 sarah stinson is in san francisco now to explain. good morning, sara. >> good morning. these allegations came from supervisor dean preston and he is the chair of the committee that is holding this emergency meeting this morning to discuss the matter. dean preston saying that, you know, mayor london breed requires commissioners to not only provide a letter of resignation, but has to be signed and it has to be, you know, did so. that means that

someone else can take it down the line and say, well, we did it now and you're done here. so that is preston says this is deeply concerning. and in his allegations use one example cited one example, his claim saying pull police commissioner max carter over stones appointment had one of these as well. preston says the commissioner had to sign an undated resignation letter as a condition of his reappointment this spring. preston says the practice of using these letters is coercive. he asked the city's attorney's office to draft an ordinance prohibiting the use of these letters. but in the meantime, preston, as i said, is the chair of the government audit and oversight committee of the san francisco board of supervisors and the committee will hold an emergency meeting this morning at 10 o'clock to discuss this. reached out to the mayor's office for comment. i have not heard back yet. i've also reached out to supervisor preston to see if you can hop on zoom with me before this 10 o'clock meeting that way, we can get people some more answers as to what

these allegations have to do with how and if this happened to him, a lot of questions remain. so hopefully we can talk with him. but in the meantime, we'll send it back to you in the studio. >> okay. thank you very much, sara. >> it's 703. and in the east bay, a school district is warning parents about an offensive wi-fi name that appears to come from the district's elementary school. and we want to warn you that that name is a derogatory term. kron four's amanda hari has more. the superintendent tells me right now they're just trying to get the word out. he says. >> he would rather have parents and people that come on campus anticipate seeing it when they tried to use the wifi and not be surprised by it. if you open up your wi-fi settings on the fredrickson elementary school campus, you'll see several dublin unified school district, wi-fi options. >> they start with usd, then who or what they're for like guest student mobile. but one started popping up recently that superintendent chris funk says doesn't belong to the

district. i just find it very immature. >> to do something like that and extremely offensive. whoever has put wi-fi up. superintendent funk says the wi-fi is likely coming from a neighborhood where one resident filed a claim against the district. >> alleging damage from the construction project to modernize the school. so i'm not 100% sure that it's the same person but incident does seem like it is since filing the claim that neighbor has installed cameras facing the school to actually point a camera to face classrooms. i just find that unethical. and funk says the cameras are allowed because it's on the individual's private property and the school also had to install cameras facing that person's home. and the reason why we those cameras is because so our employees have been hit by eggs that were thrown this backyard. on 2

occasions, we have hundreds of nails were dropped in the road. >> and we've had a damaged and there graffiti done to one of the signs >> their funk says he's confronted the individual about the drug trade, wi-fi name but hasn't gotten a response. superintendent funk tells me if they find out the source of the wi-fi is someone else. they'll ask that person to take it down or change the name in dublin amanda hari kron. 4 news. >> one of the 2 brothers arrested in connection with the deaths of him or said family of 4 has now been charged with murder. jesus salgado is accused of kidnapping an 8 month-old baby. her parents and an uncle at gunpoint from their trucking business earlier this month. and authorities eventually found their bodies last wednesday in an almond orchard. if convicted, the 48 year-old spend the rest of his life in prison without the possibility of parole. so got

his brother alberto, who is also under arrest now is expected to be charged with criminal conspiracy accessory and destroying evidence. >> on the peninsula, stanford is increasing their tent campus security after report of another rape that happened on campus just last week. kron four's justin campbell talk with some students. >> this is student charlotte near stat from the netherlands is carrying pepper spray after hearing a report of yet another rape on stanford campus. violent nature of this last report was just really shocking. the victim told police she was working in her won 12 30 friday afternoon when a man dragged her into the basement and raped her. stanford law professor michele dauber says she has been urging the university to install more security cameras. i think we should also install. >> alarm buttons and offices because stanford offices. >> typically have only one door. so it's very easy to

trap an individual. and we have a lot of officers in the basement of different buildings. we spent a lot of time there. so it's just so scary knowing that just 2 months ago, a woman reported she was raped in a school bathroom in both cases. the victim did not want to provide a statement to law enforcement. >> stanford has consistently failed to hold perpetrators accountable for these kinds of offenses. and that has led to the complete collapse of trust by survivors. we reached out to stanford to see if there are any suspects in the first case. they don't have any updates and also no suspects in this latest. >> case reporting here at stanford, justin campbell kron. 4 news. >> 708, is the time in the north bay boys facing charges now after being accused of stabbing a man to death during a fight in rio. nido police responded to that fight sunday night on canyon one road right near the russian river. police found the victim. 41 year-old jose, the event's nco with several stab wounds and dying at the scene. the boy's age

not made public because he's a minor, but he has been arrested. it was taken into custody at the scene and is now in juvenile hall. in san francisco, a group of nearly 50 residents plan to sue the owners of a high-rise apartment complex. those residents were forced to evacuate this past summer after the building was flooded. course, theresa stasi gives us an update on their story. >> i'm not here in san francisco in front of the building and some of the former tenants talked about how this is all impacted them and why this lawsuit is so important. >> this is 33 to hama. it was billed as a luxury complex of many high-end amenities. however, back in june, there was the first flooding impacting residents forcing them to flee. >> and then in august, a subsequent episode, the building was sent shutdown. former residents say that they are out back grant money to relocate. some say that they had personal items stolen jewelry checks that has led to identity theft. sorry to see

the second. it's hard to not get emotional about let's hear from some of the former tenants that were out here announcing this lawsuit took a further step into the hallway. we saw. some water pouring down the emergency stairwell, which is incredibly shocking to see. and it's just been incredible. and so if we can, to fast forward to interior damage unit. >> you know, our office was completely damage. we have what furniture are cup guy. we had to set up firms into our hallway so that water get and to the other rooms in our unit >> we're one of the residents, residents at the home up for 3 plus years. and we walked out to just go to trader grocery store and never been back apart from all the kind of chaos and disaster that happened. what was what made us come here in sioux hines was actually the incompetency and lack of respect for the residents of the tenants say that they have tried to communicate with hines about

what happened. >> and get some of their money back. but they have not received anything. hence why they filed this lawsuit. the law firm says that they hope to get justice for those so poorly treated in this case to something, you know, individual suffered emotional distress. it's, you know, it's something again that will be flushed out in discovery. but, you know, we think this is something that really was a on just what happened and people were forced to endure a lot here in san francisco. teresa is stasio kron. 4 news. as for the company that manages the building, hines. >> it's put out a response to the lawsuit. you can see here portion of it reads, quote, we deny the allegations pled in this complaint and we believe that during the course of pretrial discovery, the court and the public will understand the true extent of our efforts to help those that had to leave their homes during these unfortunate and unforeseen events. it is 7.11 will take a quick break. but still ahead on the kron, 4 morning news covid-19 restrictions are

but it's brighter. sun is up. we just can see the low clouds. the fog kind of still blanketing a lot of the bay. we got john in the weather center with our early morning john. yeah, we can expect it at the golden gate and places like that. but all of us are sitting under a little bit of gray this morning. look at this san jose, not your brightest morning by any means. we've been seeing consistently foggy cloudy conditions over the past couple of days. obviously the trend continues this morning. so just wait for it. we do eventually get to some sunshine. just not seeing it right now. skies will clear out really nice unless you're right along the coastline where it will stay. mostly cloudy, like it did yesterday. the rest of us will enjoy some 70's 80's this afternoon under sunshine. so a day that yet again brings plenty of variety with it from the foggy gray morning to the warm and sunny afternoon. still feels likes a nice summer day towards the latter part of the day. tomorrow morning, starting off with more fog, a little mist and drizzle kind of like we have today. and then more afternoon sunshine. we're in the midst of 2 competing

patterns. high pressure ridge to the north is going to keep washington, oregon, drier and warmer than average for this time of this low to our south is going to push up some monsoonal moisture into the desert southwest resulting in showers at times. some heavy rain and thunderstorms out to the 4 corners region here in the bay area. we're in the middle. so we're just staying seasonable but likely staying dry along with that. speaking of the seasons, we're seeing those colors changing up in the sierra nevada officially now nearing peak for this year. if you want to head up to lake tahoe or yosemite and enjoy some of that 50's 60's for your daytime highs in sf and along the coastline. well, temps elsewhere will be in the 70's and 80's and this under a whole lot of sunshine. again, we're staying foggy and cool at the coast while sunny and pretty warm elsewhere. san jose up to 81 fremont hayward to oakland in the 70's. only one spot actually reaching the 90's today. that's vacaville right up to 90 degrees in the meantime, nap and allay in the upper 70's low 80's from novato to santa rosa.

back and it's getting easier to get from san francisco to sydney. okay. i'm excited about this because australia's on my bucket list. let's get to john king live at the nasdaq. find out more about that. a j. >> and that short of a flight for you. but for me, i want to go there to james. so united said it will provide a significant increase in flights from san francisco to sydney beginning this holiday season, which is that country summer, by the way, united will add 3 weekly flights daily to the daily nonstops that are currently flies to sydney from sfo. so they're scheduled to fly from super 14th through february 8. so that gives united a total of 10 weekly nonstops between sydney and san francisco. well, the fbi raising the flag on elder fraud after thousands of retirees are scammed out of 1.7 billion dollars. the fbi says over 90,000 older americans risk and last year was an increase from 2020. now increasingly scammers keying in on people who are not digitally savvy and getting money from them. oftentimes

day that you can do it. not just in san francisco, but throughout california and they are starting early ballot of the early voting. you should have received a mail-in ballot yesterday or over the next couple of days. no, this is not the presidential election, which has a heavy turnout. historically, it's the general election, but there are still so many things up in the air that need to be decided, including 7 ballot propositions, congressional seats, u.s. senate seat. also california, who's going to lead us? right? so last year, governor newsom, he survived the recall. this is his chance or your chance to vote him in or out of office to lead 40 million of us in california. so that's going to happen as well. if you have any problems say with your ballot and you haven't received it, then by all means go down to city hall. i've been there many times. you look at city hall is to the left of city hall and just walked to the bottom floor. we'll help you as far as filling out your valley, getting new address and

arguing that oil producers are taking advantage of california. the governor wants state lawmakers to gather for a special legislative session at the capitol on december 5th. so they can vote on his proposal. he says this windfall tax would punish oil companies for what he calls rank price gouging. but taking advantage of you every single one every single day. hundreds of millions of dollars a week they put in their pockets, lining their pockets at your expense. >> and then putting this planet, there's nothing to justify nothing. not one thing. >> republicans, though, are arguing that a windfall tax would only further increase gas prices. instead, they sent the governor a letter calling on him to suspend the gas tax immediately. the governor's proposals he's making now they make splashy headlines but they lacked detail and they make no economic sense at a time when we need more energy production. >> and we need that energy to be as affordable as possible.

increasing taxes on energy production makes no sense. the real world, every family that is out there to gas in their car to go to work to the grocery store, take their kids to school. >> every family is being hurt by the policies that are being put forth by this governor and the democratic leadership in our state. and it needs to change. >> well, state democratic leaders say they are looking forward to reviewing the governor's proposal while assembly republicans have launched a public petition urging californians to tell the governor to drop his proposal. >> happening today, the u.s. supreme court is going your arguments about a case challenging california's law. that's his pigs for food should be raised humanely. state voters adopted a law in 2018 and that was with more than 63% voting. and this law sets conditions for raising calves chickens and hogs, but major pork producers are pushing back. they say that states that don't have laws

like we have in california should not be burdened with compliance in order to sell their products in california. in the east bay, the months long occupation of parker elementary that led to clashes like you see here in august is over. parents of parker elementary students and their allies started the second patient may because they were upset about the oakland district's plan to consolidate schools and that would have closed parker elementary. well, now the school board has voted to convert that campus to an adult and family program instead of closing. and that has led to the end of the occupation. >> well, the fallout continues over an la city leaders, racist remarks that were leaked over the weekend. ron herrera, president of the la county federation of labor has now resigned from his position because his voice was among those hurt on that leaked audio la city council. president nury martinez, who you see here has decided to step down from her leadership position yesterday. however, she did not resign completely from the city council. the
