will update you as soon as we hear from them. we'll also have more from that vigil, which was peacefully held earlier today. >> in just a moment. but first, we want to take a look at the latest in los angeles where a curfew is now in effect for parts of downtown la. has that curfew went into effect at 8 o'clock tonight. >> lapd officers moved in some on horseback, pushing the crowds away from the federal detention center. they also began arresting people who were refusing to leave the curfew is set to be in place until 6 o'clock tomorrow morning. la mayor karen bass says the curfew is likely not a one-time deal. >> i will consult with elected leaders and law enforcement officials tomorrow on the continuation of the curfew. but we certainly expect for it to last for several days. >> this is a map of the areas under that curfew down in los angeles. it includes areas between the 5, 1, 10. >> freeways in a statewide

virtual address earlier tonight, governor gavin newsom slammed president trump's deployment of members of the military calling his actions a, quote, abuse of power. if some of us could be snatched off the streets without a warrant. >> based only on suspicion or skin color. the none of us are safe. authoritarian regimes beginning by targeting people who are least able to defend themselves. but they do not stop there. trump and his loyalists, they thrive on division because it allows them to take more power and exert even more control. the governor also slammed republicans for failing to stand up to the president saying congress is. >> nowhere to be found. the governor and the attorney general rob bonta have filed a lawsuit to block the deployments and requested emergency motion be taken. a san francisco federal judge denied that request. but as re has scheduled a hearing on that matter for thursday. >> judge breyer, who i've

this video of arrest being made outside immigration court in concord. ice was here this morning. they were. >> moving to certain people's court hearings and then detaining take them from processing. it was targeted enforcement for specific people. and there were 4 people that were detained this morning. word of the arrest spread on social media in an impromptu protest rally outside the building that houses the courts. >> has been going on for much of the day. >> here to support my people since my family are immigrants. my people are immigrants and i'm here to show i want people to know that people are just coming to us for, you know, better opportunities and to. it's, you know, provide a better life for their families. and everyone wants opportunity and it shouldn't be police like ice would not confirm or deny the concord arrests. but attorneys on scene said they are illegal. i think that the tactics that they take yes,

we do want to warn you some of the videos and pictures in this story might be a little disturbing crawford's jack moment reports. >> this video shot over the weekend shows several dogs walking without a lease and sometimes on the road in san jose. courtney farrow says she was with her husband when they came across the troubling sight. there really any be a good man lying on the sidewalk and he does start to indicate that all 3 dogs belong to him. a rope had just quit her job at the city-run animal shelter. she says the ongoing and well documented neglect and overcrowding was too much. but in this moment, she says she cannot walk away being on site for a while and just determining that the dogs were in danger. she managed to take night who was bleeding from his leg to a vet. one of the other dogs, though, this black and white pointer dog. so animal control told me that, you know, saturday they were busy, but they do their best to get out there soon. soon was not enough. and i see a post about blossom hill driver >> having hit a large black and white dog. my heart

immediately just like drops. the dog hit and killed animal control. according to farrell, arrived to the scene 13 hours after the fact i made me feel extremely frustrated. i know that field operations that unit, the animal control officers, they're short-staffed. they had one person on apparently rebecca davis. matthews also used to work at the shelter and has been documented the longstanding issues with the city animal services for months. the shelter >> has problems in many areas. and this is just highlighting that they're also they also issues field services. december, a scathing audit came out and made dozens of recommendations for the shelter. it found neglect and cat kennels and overcrowding. >> and so we have a plan to implement the 39 things in this calendar year. matt lashes. the department of public works. director says they work closely with the auditor and are determined to improve the shelter and other services. the biggest challenge is the volume of things we need to work on as well as care for thousands and thousands of animals. but in

regards to animal control, less says they're doing everything they can. they have to respond to our 180 square miles of just sent was 8 plus the other 3 cities that we support less promises improvements to the shelter are coming and for ferro that can't come soon enough. leadership needs to go. and even in his short time at the shelter issues persist it like no vets working during the weekend allowing animals to suffer for days. so a lot of these cats that we see are suffering. we step up take it and wait. sometimes us never even happens. a lot of them die. >> the department of public works says they hope to fix that issue soon by hiring at least one more veterinary to work here at the shelter reporting here in san jose jacmel. but kron 4 news. >> the san jose city council has approved a controversial plan to potentially arrest on house people if they repeatedly refuse shelter. the proposal is part of mayor matt mahan syngenta aimed at reducing homelessness in the city. the vote was 9 to 2 in favor of adding a responsibility to shelter provision to the city's and kevin code of conduct, which also includes expectations at

homeless. people will not pitch tents near schools and playgrounds or block public rights of way. >> the city of oakland is crafting a new plan to solve its budget crisis. today. oakland city councilmember johnny ramachandran revealed a set of proposed amendments for the 2025 to 2027 city budget. ideas include adding more than 10 million dollars to help keep all of the cities of fire stations open. restoring pope police services and adding civilian positions to the police department's current staff from chandra says, unlike the existing budget plan, the new proposal would not rely on the sale of the coliseum. but what we wanted to focus on is the number one issue that our residents are asking of us, which is. >> invest in public safety, clean streets so we can have an economic revitalization and have a city. we can be proud of. and feel safe to be in. >> the city of oakland is

currently 265 million dollars in the red. the budget hearing for the new fiscal year begins tomorrow course. fire stations closing mayor in is a big concern during fire season. but yeah, we've actually been. >> pretty okay this week. yeah. i get that nice onshore wind. that brings up the humidity. >> well, folks like to call a june gloom. yeah, we're going to see a lot of that rolling in overnight tonight. the clouds really kind of gathering out there right now. again, pretty thick in spots out for nasa fo sometimes you get a deca like this. you can start to see some delays. not seeing any of that just yet. maybe something tomorrow morning. check your lines before you head out there early tomorrow. so the clouds rolling on in the temperatures falling on down as we've had those numbers coming down once again, one to 6 degrees cooler around the bay area today in most spots. and that's just because that cooler marine air working its way well inland today only 59 degrees well below the average in san francisco. 63 degrees are usually are at 71 in oakland, 72 in san jose and warm but still cooler than normal. 76 in livermore, 70 for high in

concord. 75 in santa rosa and a real cool. 58 in half moon bay. all right. the clouds, you can kind of see that surge, low clouds just kind of making their way back on shore and started creep inside the bay as we head toward the afternoon. even so given the idea a pretty good strong run, low clouds and fog stretching on shore right now. and that's going to be in place. so high pressure just kind of holding onto flattening out. this still going to see some warm temperatures inland, just running a little bit below the average, of course, cool along the coastline. we've got a trough of low pressure coming to town as we get into thursday and friday. and that's going to drop the temperatures as we head in toward this next weekend numbers around the bay area tomorrow. yeah, you can see those clouds early on slowly breaking up and maybe not entirely in the san francisco solely about 58 and cool in the sunset. little wet out there, too. temperatures out toward the beaches generally in the 50's along the coastline with that drizzle continuing there throughout the morning and maybe into the afternoon as well. 60 degrees in burlingame head further south. you watch those temperatures warming up as the sun begins to break through a little bit earlier. lot of 70's in the south bay by tomorrow afternoon, the east

ballpark weather with chief meteorologist lawrence karnow and lawrence attends to rain baseball's in colorado. but how about actual precipitation? yeah, you know, they do have the chance of a couple raindrops to go along with that one exciting game today, though. >> things mode might get a little more interesting. i think by tomorrow afternoon the storm is going to be rolling a little bit closer and the chance of an isolated thunderstorm. the west coast looking good. but you look a little for the east. you start to see a few scattered showers out there. so yeah, things okay. in california, we're dry as can be. we've got high-pressure holding on here. of course, that fog an issue. but watch the forecast models. we head to denver tomorrow afternoon office and you see the ground then also you see the clouds rolling in. then you see those spotty showers rolling on by. yeah, it doesn't look like a lot. but if you get one of those thunderstorms sitting right overhead at the wrong time, yeah, you can see some pretty good downpours right now. we'll call partly cloudy with a slight chance of a scattered

shower there temperatures. so the bill, the warm side about 70 degrees at coors field and will hopefully that's another really exciting game like today. the time, though, down in southern california, the clouds are really thicker in the morning and then peeling away toward the afternoon. that's going to be more of a midday game and looks like it'll bring on with it. lots of sunshine into the afternoon. of course, warming up nicely to start out about 77 degrees at 1 o'clock in the afternoon. by late in the day, though, in the latter part of the innings you're probably pushing over 80 in the afternoon. so, yeah, pretty decent weather there as well. the meantime, here's our first look. we've got the u.s. open golf tournament coming to oakmont in pennsylvania there kicking off here in a couple of days. temperatures right now. look pretty good. i think the first day of golf looks okay. but this goes on for several days. you're looking about 64 degrees and mostly sunny skies. just some light winds the following day. will everything changes boy in golf. that's one thing you don't want. you don't want lightning. doubt that could bring into the game really quickly, right? but yeah, it looks like things are going to be a little bit unsettled later in the week. all right.
