morning. if you're headed into the city right now, 14 on that san mateo bridge it was ever felt little busier, 18 and at golden gate bridge 20 minutes during. james, back to you. thank you. reyna at 701, in the breaking news is u.s. airstrike. israel launched airstrikes overnight. any ron, they targeted that country's nuclear sites and they killed at least 2 top military officers around the world. obviously bracing for what the retaliation will be from iran. we're going to begin our coverage with our washington correspondent in a sim walk with the latest from dc. >> israel has been concerned that iran is close to building a nuclear weapon. and on thursday, the international nuclear watchdog said >> iran was not cooperating with inspectors. now, the u.s. was concerned that israel may strike iran and urged all non-essential personnel to get out of the region. fighter jets take off under the dark of night. an israeli military video in tehran. security cameras show the impact of

israeli air strikes on iran's capital city. >> we struck at the heart of iran's nuclear weaponization program. israeli prime minister benjamin netanyahu defended the military strikes in english. he says their preemptive strikes targeting iran's nuclear program if not stopped. >> iran could produce a nuclear weapon in a very short time. iran confirmed top military generals and nuclear scientists were killed, residential buildings in tehran or damage to you need that through state media, iran supreme leader vowed israel will face severe punishment. president donald trump who was on the south lawn as strikes began, has been working on a deal to stop iran from developing a nuclear weapon. he encouraged israel not to strike earlier thursday that i want them going in because i it would. >> well, it might help, but actually, but it. also could blow it. secretary of state marco rubio released a statement after the air strikes.

to the governor is now temporarily blocked after an appeal from the white house for joey horta is in the newsroom with details. joey guys right now, this decision from the appeals court means that the president is still in control of the california national guard. and that means the trump administration can keep using the troops to support immigration raids in la, at least for now. federal appeals court temporarily lifted a judge's order thursday ruling trump's deployment of the national guard is illegal. the ruling from the 9th u.s. circuit court of appeals came down just hours after judge charles breyer in a san francisco courtroom ordered the president to return control to the troops of the troops, rather to the governor by this afternoon. here's part of newsom's reaction to the appeal while in san francisco last night. this weekend. >> there will be millions and millions of americans rightfully expressing their outrage, their constitutionally protected right to assemble and free speech peacefully expressing

the coming days. and as that happens, this westerly is going to be kicked up, keeping things moderated for a few more days. next week, though, high pressure really builds in and with the forecast dominated by the high pressure ridge, we are going to see temperatures lifting fairly quickly, especially on into next wednesday. temperatures right now are going to be in the 60's this afternoon and at the coastline, some 50's in the mix. temperatures along the bay shore. it 60's to 70's for you, burlingame at 64 while san carlos in redwood city, both at 71 south bay temps, mid 70's to low 80's that are very warmest 80's for just a few spots today. much like yesterday, much like today before it. that's a little bit cooler than where we're spending a lot of time lately. so that just adds to an enjoyable feel, especially for those inland areas. now, the weekend ahead, i'm sure a lot of us have big plans. it is father's day weekend. good news for you. heading to the mountains or just staying here in the day. all of us looking good. 60 70's to 80's at the warmest next week is when the heat is on, especially come the middle next week.

pushing back against aggressive immigration enforcement policies. this comes after tuesday's incident where tensions ran high as ice detained for asylum seekers. who were there at immigration court in concord to show up for their hearing. but on thursday, activity remained quiet throughout the day. >> i am here to support you know, my friends and neighbors who may be immigrants have volunteers sitting in the court rooms as well. >> but attorneys are reminding immigrants to go to court with an attorney, never signed anything you don't understand and make sure you request a virtual hearing if it's possible. >> i pray every night that i wake up tomorrow and this is just a nightmare. but unfortunately, it's not. the reality. >> that was the wife of a livermore man who was taken by ice describing her current reality right now where she says her husband, miguel

lopez, was arrested outside of an immigration court while he was there for a standard hearing on may 27th about a week later in the middle of the night, miguel was deported to tijuana. the gulls wife, rosa says the ice agents confiscated his passport and other vital documents. in fact, she's had to travel to mexico with his birth certificate so she could have at least some form of id for him. she doesn't understand how he was sent to mexico without seeing a judge. family lawyer is working right now to try and get his passport and other papers back from immigration and they're trying to secure a way for him to come back to the united states. >> he have filed for a tro, which is like a temporary restraining order for him to stay in the u.s.. and that was approved. but he was already. out of the country. so may because they knew he have a lawyer and his lawyer was movie trying to, you know, keep him in the u.s.. i don't know because he what he said. he didn't even sign of deportation. he was just removed from the u.s..

to recruit and retain early childhood educators. in other developing news this morning, a popular online services, including spotify and discord have experienced major disruptions. they did yesterday anyway, due to ongoing issues with google cloud outages peaked at about 3 in the afternoon eastern time with 10's of thousands of users affected worldwide. google says it identified the root cause and has begun mitigation procedures but offered no timeline for a full recovery. the incident impacted users in the u.s. and abroad. google cloud hosting a lot of key platforms and reported more than 43 billion in revenue last year. >> the alameda food got a big lift this week. literally thanks to a helping hand from the u.s. coast guard in a social media post. the foodbank shared air coast guard besties and how they stepped in help move some heavy warehouse. rex from their old building to their new building. more than 90% of

>> thank you very much. it is 7.30. the breaking news this half hour coming to us from the middle east. iran's supreme leader now warning israel to brace for, quote, severe punishment after launching a massive series of strikes. so those strikes targeted nuclear and missile facilities killing iran's top 3 generals. israeli prime minister binyamin netanyahu is calling this attack rising lion saying the purpose was to damage the iranian nuclear program. iran retaliated overnight launching more than 100 drones to israel, which according to israel, they intercepted those drones outside of israeli airspace. u.s. secretary of state marco rubio says the u.s. was not involved in the airstrike. president trump is expected to hold an emergency cabinet meeting this morning. the u.s. is also shifting some military resources to the middle east in response, the associated press reporting, in fact, that the department of defense is sending 2 warships to the middle east. we'll have more on this breaking and developing story with a report

from washington coming up at the top of the hour. well, to human rights, speakers from the middle east were sent back to jordan after they were detained at sfo for more than 24 hours. we brought you this story right here on the kron. 4 morning news as breaking news yesterday. this was the scene that played out at sfo and their international terminal as people rally to call for the release of the 2 men who are being detained somewhere inside the airport, according to the bay area office of the council american islamic relations, cair for short, both men landed at sfo yesterday with valid visas. they have been invited to speak at churches and synagogues here to promote peace. but the u.s. customs and border protection office detain them upon their arrival. the bay area advocate who was working with both men says he's appalled by what happened. >> these are totally peace, loving people. they're family men. they are here for 2 weeks to raise awareness and to raise money for this summer

camp. they run for their children. >> well, this is the statement from san francisco supervisor belong mood. it reads, quote, what we witnessed is an unprecedented suppression of speech. a targeted attack on those working toward peace and justice. this overreach to deport peace activists sets a dangerous precedent for the direction of our nation. end quote. >> it's 7.32 and a man accused of killing a pregnant woman in napa is now and char at facing charges in in custody. his name is ernie victor solis. and he was arrested monday night for the murder of 33 year-old hailey privett, who was pregnant with twins. she was found dead sunday morning on dale drive. police have not yet given details about the relationship or motive. solis is being held without bail facing the possibility of prison life in prison if he's convicted. san jose man faces

charges after he was in a crash that left a motorcyclist with major injuries. this happenedondaon fruitvale avenue in sa jose. the car that he was driving and he made an illegal turn and hit a motorcyclist and then took off. the driver was later arrested. they say his name is misael. laura of the motorcyclist was suffered. severe injuries. he is paralyzed. well, 7.34 is the time we've got some new video from the chp showing officers chasing that 18 year-old driver who ended up hitting. >> and killing a beloved oakland teacher last month. yeah, it was just moments before he lost control of the car and then hit the teacher who was on the sidewalk. and last night, community members demanded. >> that the oakland police do what they say they do with the current chase policy, which is that they only have a pursuit when the suspect is posing an

immediate danger to others. now the chief is asking for the police commission to loosen those restrictions. >> cropper sara stinson takes a look. as long as these persons happen, people people's lives are in danger. oakland has the current policy for a reason. >> because for years our community members advocated for our streets to be safer. >> oakland community members speaking out thursday night at the police commission meeting against reducing limitations on high-speed pursuits under the current policy, police can only go after suspects putting others in danger but can't go more than 50 miles per hour on residential streets. police chief floyd mitchell asked the commission to relax the policy back in may. this discussion now happening 2 weeks after councilman high school teacher dr marvin boomer was killed in the aftermath of a chp chase in an oakland neighborhood. the fact that he floyd did not immediately rescind his ask for shifts in the police, pursue policy, tells me

change. although this is extremely unfortunate. >> i do think that suits are necessary. the commission chair says the policy change is up to the chief, but the commission can reject or accept any changes. he proposes. >> he says the plan is to review the pursuit policy in the coming weeks and vote in the second week of july. i'm sara stinson reporting kron. 4 news. >> 7.36 is the time oakland chief of police chief floyd mitchell says that his department is preparing for what they expect to be a busy summer. this is protests of federal immigration enforcement policies and oakland continue. and they're also planning to raise security for oakland's juneteenth celebrations. the department is going to be collaborating with the chp local law enforcement and the u.s. marshals as part of their safety plan. more officers will also be put on the cease-fire division, which focuses on people in groups at the highest risk of gun violence. >> we have to work together to change that narrative. >> that has plagued our to our
